SaaS Provider Digital Marketing Strategy
A mobile-first workforce management software provider was seeking a partner to help create and execute a digital marketing strategy for entering the U.S. market. Already well-established globally, the company landed a fresh $25 million funding round to help support this expansion. After an objective-focused assessment to solve for growth, Convertiv and the client formulated three possible approaches. Each approach was based on low, medium, and high levels of investment and the estimated potential impact on pipeline. Marketing leadership presented to the larger CXO team, securing funding for the plan and significantly contributing to pipeline with a 26-to-1 return.
Our Approach
To better understand how the client could achieve their goal of $2.35 million in pipeline, Convertiv had to consider the contributions of all marketing efforts across every channel. By doing so, we could understand what level of contribution was required from advertising and organic search. In addition, Convertiv determined realistic traffic estimates for a multitude of digital marketing efforts to help determine the best path to achieving their goals. Being able to see all the pieces of the marketing program allowed us to see if the goal was attainable and identify the best ways to contribute.

Global Website Network Web Development
Over a decade ago, one of the largest privately-owned cybersecurity companies in the world asked us to produce a network of sites to deliver regular content to their international audiences. The result is a long-term success story of continuous improvement, evolution, technical debt mitigation, and fulfilling business partnership.
Our Approach
With the client firmly in charge of the content production efforts, we set out to support them with the technical aspects of running the websites in a manner that maximized productivity and sites security. After considering various technologies options carefully, we determined that evolving the current crop of WordPress websites was both possible and the best way to build on top of their existing investment without interruptions. Convertiv identified gaps in their setup related to scalability, security, and performance and then set off to implement the following:
- A multistage development workflow was implemented, enabling the development team to test and evolve large chunks of the codebase without interruption to the live website.
- Continuous deployment was introduced to support the ever-growing speed of improvements and changes to the website.
- A regular update cadence was introduced to keep up with all the updates to third party code dependencies.
- Critical third-party code vulnerabilities were identified and patched as soon as possible via our internal system.
- A SIEM and performance dashboard was built using the ELK stack. By collecting various application events (e.g., logins or uploads) and ingesting various server logs, our operations team had eyes on everything happening with the website from a single pane of glass.
- Working with our partner vendors, we deployed WordPress successfully on a new horizontally scalable and fault-tolerant architecture running on AWS. This ensured stable performance and availability of the content network.

Account Based Marketing for Cloud Networking
The worldwide leader in cloud-driven networking solutions for enterprise, data center, and service-provider customers tapped Convertiv to manage the strategy and execution of a large-scale account-based initiative. Together with our client, Convertiv identified target accounts, selected appropriate media platforms, rotated relevant assets, and found the optimal media mix for the flight through multi-touch attribution. This holistic approach contributed over $16 million to the organization’s pipeline.
Our Approach
To determine the ideal media mix during the program flight, Convertiv utilized multi-touch attribution to understand velocity and efficacy by channel. This enabled data-driven media investment with a clear focus on increasing pipeline at various stages of the buyer journey. Convertiv deployed a three-pronged audience approach: relevant user attributes/keywords, remarketing audiences, and account-based audiences. This ensured scalability without sacrificing efficacy.

SEO for Cloud Security
Our client is a leader in next-generation security information and event management (SIEM) and cloud-based security analytics and operations management. Their platform enables security for the cloud, within the cloud, powered by advanced analytics, behavior detection, threat modeling, and machine learning with unlimited scale. Their technology improves visibility, actionability, and security while reducing management complexity and burden on analysts. Convertiv collaborated with the client’s in-house team to improve the content on the site and create new pages with specific SEO goals. This resulted in an increase in organic traffic, keyword visibility, and achievement of keys goals in just two months following the implementation of Convertiv’s recommendations.
Our Approach
Convertiv conducted an in-depth SEO assessment to understand the state of the site and identify opportunities for improvement. This included analyzing technical SEO elements, on-page elements, and content gaps and opportunities on the site. In addition to the core SEO assessment, Convertiv also conducted extensive keyword research. This was a collaborative effort, with the client providing feedback on the significance of specific keyword themes to their industry and business. This process allowed the Convertiv team to understand the competitiveness for these keywords and provide a content roadmap as a final product. This deliverable detailed the type of content need to achieve visibility for the keyword targets.

Transforming Customer Engagement
Our customer, a Fortune 500 medical device manufacturer, needed a platform to support their customer engagement efforts. Over several years, the customer‘s in-house support team built an organic network of tools and web applications to meet this need. This homegrown platform was critical to customer engagement, but its ad hoc nature resulted in significant technical debt and support team friction. Convertiv was asked to re-architect this platform to eliminate the support burden and enhance the user experience. We engineered a solution that could power their customer engagement, transforming their sprawling organic platform into a lean, intuitive, and performant tool.
Our Approach
Convertiv was engaged to stabilize the existing platform, design a replacement, and engineer a migration to a significantly improved customer-facing application as quickly as possible.

Medical Systems First-Party Data Strategy
A world leader in energy-based aesthetic and medical treatment systems worked with Convertiv to develop a first-party data strategy and pipeline. This allowed them to be first in line to collect, own, and govern data generated by their products, systems, and digital experiences. By collecting and storing raw event data at every user touch point, they are now able to model and construct custom reports and answer key business questions as they arise.
Our Approach
Many of our clients face similar situations. Often, disparate reporting structures with different methods of data collection lead to different answers to the same question. Our recommendation of a first-party data strategy alleviates this by collecting as much data as possible and consolidating reporting outputs into a sensible “single source of truth” that isn’t beholden to third-party software restrictions.

Marketing Technology and Data Strategy
A deep dive into the MarTech stack helped a major medical device company streamline their technology investments, processes and organization, allowing stakeholders to focus on mission critical work.
After years of acquisitions, division spin offs and go-to-market strategy shifts, our client’s marketing technology and data infrastructure become bloated and largely under-utilized. Redundant technologies, coupled with less than ideal integrations between systems, left the client with unreliable data for performance reporting and an underwhelming return on investment.
Our Approach
Working with client stakeholders, we quickly identified business objectives as our due north. Clear objectives enabled all team members involved to focus on what needed to be accomplished vs what the technology does. With business objectives in hand, our client team engaged through stakeholder interviews and online surveys to inventory technology, categorize, map integrations and document utilization rates. Additionally, organizational structure and technology vetting processes were assessed.

Describe the scope of work in detail. Please include a summary of key deliverables.
Convertiv helped us from the initial conception of our new website to follow on improvements post-launch. We had several different websites that we wanted to consolidate, along with the need to create a gated portal to allow access to our geopolitical risk reporting. Convertiv aided us in identifying our needs and priorities, developing a uniform style, working through complex issues such as how to gate and tag content or how to best tailor existing ecommerce solutions to our needs.
What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
- Production timeline
- Fixed delivery date
- Continuous feedback and updates
Describe their project management. Did they deliver items on time? How did they respond to your needs?
Convertiv was always very straightforward and honest with us, and provided us with clear timelines for various projects and tasks. They were also very clear in explaining the possible consequences of certain decisions (to gate or not gate content, to add or not add an e-commerce option) and in detailing how these decisions would change our timelines.
I felt that they were very responsive to our needs and to our questions, and it was easy to remain in contact with them either by email, scheduled and ad hoc virtual meetings, Jira trackers, and even texting them as needed. Someone was always around to help us out and I always felt that I was getting an honest answer with straightforward recommendations on how to best move forward.
What was your primary form of communication with Convertiv?
Virtual Meeting, Email or Messaging App
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The friendliness and helpfulness of the team. They were always willing to take time out of their day to answer my (often naive) questions and to explain things in a way that non-tech savvy folks could understand. I never felt that it was hard to get in touch with them or to get an answer, and it was always very clear where we stood on certain projects. They were also pleasant and easy to deal with, which always makes life better! They are a good company, with a good staff, who get good results.
Are there any areas for improvement or something Convertiv could have done differently?
I have to say that Convertiv was the better partner in our relationship- they knew what they were doing, knew the best way to deal with certain potential problems, understood the amount of work/time required to do something, and could always provide us with the best recommendations. On our side, we often took longer than desired to make decisions and also changed our minds on key issues several times.
Convertiv took all of this in stride and continued to work through our lack of experience to deliver a great product on time and at budget.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the CMO/SVP of Marketing for a 700-person IT infrastructure firm with 65+ data centers in 27+ US metros. I'm responsible for all marketing, communications and culture activities.
For what projects/services did your company hire Convertiv, and what were your goals?
We've hired Convertiv as our full-service digital agency responsible for managing our paid SEM programs, architecting the data and technology behind a pilot ABM program, and the redesign and redevelopment of our website. The goal is a more mature, data-driven, marketing operation overall and a website that more accurately reflected the company's market position and profile.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I had worked with Convertiv in the past on two large web development projects and knew they were capable of delivering on the most important factors: technical acumen, design and efficient project management.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The web development project was broken up into several phases with an Oct 2021 start and a goal of launching the site no later than July 4 2021. We started with Information Architecture (IA) and Wireframes in the fall of 2022 using tools such as Figma, Envision and Jira to manage the overall project. Their team lead their efforts with precision and efficiency to get us where we needed to be by the end of the year. At the beginning of 2022, Convertiv began working designs while my team began creating web copy content and sourcing graphic assets needed. Convertiv's design process was fast and flexible and by early March, with all designs, copy and graphics organized, they were able to begin production of a new Wordpress site using the latest Gutenberg blocks platform. In the final phase, Convertiv managed all the development, testing/QA, migration and go-live of the site on WPVIP.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were about 8-10 folks on the overall project team including IA (1), design (1), project management (1), development (2), account management (2) and a few (3) more in other miscellaneous ares like SEO, CRO, etc.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The site was ready for launch nearly a month early which is testament to the efficient processes at the heart Convertiv's operation. Response from customers, investors and staff has been overwhelmingly positive. While it's still too early too measure the impact on traffic and conversions there is no doubt that the site better reflects who we are and our position in the market which should translate into more effective conversions.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Convertiv''s approach to project management is the best I have ever witnessed in 30 years. They use tools like Jira (project management), Figma (design) and Envision (design) with great effectiveness and scheduled calls with tight weekly agendas to keep everything and everyone on track. It's the #1 reason I had confidence in hitting my July 4 date. I had seen them manage projects before and I knew they would keep me and my team on track and make sure we had a successful launch. No one does this better.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The knowledge of how to weave together all the elements of a modern marketing operation (data, tools, analytics, etc.) combined with the efficient project management to make sure projects are delivered on-time and within budget. Convertiv's wealth of experience across the B2B tech landscape provides a goldmine of best practices and insights as well. Put it all together and they are a CMO's secret weapon, capable of demystifying the complexity of marketing technology, finding the simple, effective strategy, and turning us into rock stars.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I would have liked to add more user analysis of the current site (installed HotJar but never really utilized it) and planned designs (customer/prospect feedback) but our timeline and budget probably precluded that. Ultimately, it would have been a "nice to have" nota. "must have" and the end result absolutely hits the mark.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We are an ever-expanding real estate advisory firm with a wide range of services and markets that all need to be featured on our web properties. As a member of the marketing team, it's my job to make sure that the website reflects the excellent quality of service our company provides.
For what projects/services did your company hire Convertiv, and what were your goals?
We hired Convertiv to overhaul our 10+ year web presence and consolidate it into one sleek, high-performing website with a beautiful frontend for our clients and a powerful backend for our team.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We interviewed many web dev agencies but Convertiv was the only one we encountered that offered the rare mix of elegant design and innovative development.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
With the expert guidance of our dedicated project manager, Emily, our team moved through the different stages of the project, including UX/IA/Web Kit, Design and Documentation, and Development, Implementation and QA. Every Convertiv employee we worked with was knowledgeable, responsive, and a lot of fun. The training was extensive and very easy to follow.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Our project manager Emily managed all our communications and scheduling, but we also worked very closely with experts from the design team, the development team, and even with the senior leadership of the company, who frequently joined our weekly status calls to weigh in on our progress and make sure we were happy with what we were seeing. Having that level of connection to everyone, not just our project manager, made me feel like an extremely valued client and partner.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The feedback on our website, both internally and externally, has been overwhelmingly positive. As thought leaders in our industry, it's important that our online presence is top-tier, and Convertiv has helped us achieve that and then some.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Convertiv kept us on schedule with weekly meetings and an extensive, organized project hub built in Jira, which Emily updated and documented within minutes of our requests and meetings.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What I love and respect most about the Convertiv team is that they are just as excited and invested in your project as you are. They will cheer you on and celebrate with you when you accomplish your goals. They'll offer support and guidance when things get difficult. And they're also humans who understand that life gets in the way and sometimes even the best-laid plans get derailed, and that flexibility and understanding are key to a good partnership.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I can't think of anything that Convertiv could have done differently. They learned everything they could about our complicated, multi-layered project and any bugs or minor fixes that popped up were taken care of quickly and effectively. I couldn't ask for a better team!

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am VP of Digital in the Marketing organisation of a B2B Cybersecurity SaaS vendor.
For what projects/services did your company hire Convertiv?
To rethink, redesign and rearchitect our Corporate Website from 'brochure-ware' to tool that supports today's digital B2B buyer journey and lead-generation engine.
How did you select this vendor?
I have worked with Convertiv previously in a prior role as a senior member of a project team. This was my first engagement with them as lead. We also considered other vendors that our management and myself have previously worked with, but felt that Convertiv had great demonstrable experience in our space (including a recently completed project for a vednir very similar to us) and I have had good positive experience with them as a team of expert advisors, not simply exectuors.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
Our project was a complete re-assessment of the entire site structure, while still remain with our current brand guidelines, with some leeway for creativity within those.
Our project stages:
- Familiarizing Convertiv with our business & products
- Design (based on our current brand guidelines) & 'Webkit'
- SEO review
- Taxonomy
- Information Architecture
- Wireframing
- Some high-level copy direction (this will actually come later with another vendor recommended by Convertiv though)
- Design of templates and many reusable modules across those templates (including 3 rounds of review)
- Annoted design files, marked up for our frontend dev resources
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Around six, rotating in and out depending on the project stage and week's deliverables: - Account lead - Project Manager - SEO Manager - UX strategist - Content strategist - UX/UI designer
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have literally just completed the project with COnvertiv in recent days, so no live deliverables yet. The designs are currently moving into Front- and Back-end dev, and content production is moving into gear. We aim to go live in the next 6-8 weeks or so. We are very happy with the outputs of Convertiv, and the work has been very well-received on the C-level/Founder-level.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
We worked well together as a group despite parts of our project team being spread across London & Boston, and parts of the Convertiv team being on the US west coast, New England, and Europe. We collaborated through email, weekly calls (and some ad-hoc as needed), Box for filesharing and InVision for design reviews and feedback cycles. We probably could have benefitted from opening a line of chat conversation (Slack/Teams), but overall it was ok.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Convertiv are not pushovers, and i feel aim to provide expertise rather than 'do just what the client wants'. They had a strong identity, providing strong consultancy and advisory services to augment our set-up. Solid partnership rather than a more tradiitonal agency-client relationship.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I think we probably could have worked on the communications better as a group, but overall it was fine. As usual, we likely spent a bit too much time at the top of the project, which squeezed us to the end, but overall we have got what we wanted from the engagement.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I run the marketing department for a company in the cybersecurity space.
What challenge were you trying to address with Convertiv?
We brought in Convertiv to help us with a couple of projects. Firstly, we needed to get a more consistent digital marketing program in place. Secondly, we needed to work on getting our website revamped so it could capture more leads and help us increase our conversions.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Convertiv first helped us build some models to help identify pipeline requirements to meet our targets. Then, they worked with us to help us identify various paid programs that we could leverage to generate more leads. Currently, they help us execute our paid media programs.
As for the web development side, when we first engaged with Convertiv, we had a legacy website. We worked with them on a project basis to add more capabilities to it as possible. The site had many limitations, but they helped us build a more robust and easily usable navigation system and a resource center. They also helped us build different modules and other elements that would fit the existing website.
When it became clear that we were stretching the website’s capacity as far as it could go, we worked with Convertiv on a whole separate project around launching a new website. They were responsible for doing the competitive analysis, identifying some of the key capabilities that we needed on the site, building the information architecture, and ultimately designing, developing, and launching the site.
Convertiv integrated an accordion feature to the website where people can see the key capabilities of our platform as headlines, and they can also click on each one to see their descriptions in more detail. They also created a great visual element where we can use and update different screenshots based on the capability that our customer is highlighting. It ties the visuals more clearly to the descriptive text.
Our resource center was also revamped with new iconography, and they built out a much clearer UX based on the use cases of the people coming into our site. In addition to that, they added a sticky “request demo” button that appears all over the site, which has helped drive in greater conversions and inbound requests.
Additionally, we hired Convertiv to do an SEO analysis to provide us with a recommendation plan. They spent a lot of time looking at our content, website, and keywords. Then, they delivered an extensive list of recommendations for the types of content that we would need to develop to gain visibility for those keywords, which was really helpful for feeding the site.
What is the team composition?
On a day-to-day basis, we work with four people from Convertiv, including a project manager, an SEO lead, a design and web development lead, and a VP, who oversees everything. I know that 6–8 other people have worked on the project behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with Convertiv?
They were recommended to one of our board members around two years ago. We brought them in on a couple of projects to see how they worked and whether they were a good fit for us or not. Since then, we’ve continued to expand our relationship, and we’ve also recommended them to others.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $250,000–$300,000 over our two-year engagement with Convertiv.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working around September 2019, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve seen an increase in our inbounds, and we’ve gained more visibility on the first page of Google search results. Additionally, we’ve seen an increase in the volume and quality of our leads, helping us get more conversions and opportunities.
How did Convertiv perform from a project management standpoint?
Convertiv manages the project quite well, and we have regular check-ins every week. They’re very diligent about documenting and following up on any actions needed on either side. Furthermore, when we run into miscommunication issues or hiccups, they’re very open to discussing them. Overall, they’re a very good partner.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Convertiv’s overall knowledge of the digital marketing space is impressive. Additionally, they have a fantastic ability to bring the right mix of people to the table based on our needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Convertiv knows much more about their industry than us, so it would have been good if they started a little slower so that we could have understood some of the language and topics that we were going through initially.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Work with them to make sure that you have a very clear plan in place, and document your specific objectives and expected outcomes so that you can then track them. Additionally, be really open to feedback, whether things are going well or they need to be rectified.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a website manager for a cloud hosting provider.
What challenge were you trying to address with Convertiv?
When I started at the company, I evaluated the website and found it was a mess. I started the RFP process for building a new website. We needed a partner to rebuild the front- and backend of our website. We previously worked with a different web agency that built our prior site. They also managed everything, which was quite costly.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Convertiv started by evaluating our website. Their team also evaluated our hosting provider, assessing the pros and cons of moving it. Security was a major focus of their evaluation too. Convertiv then rebuilt the website to be easily managed and configured it on WordPress. They also consulted on our SEO initiatives. After benchmarking the original website's SEO performance, their team gave us areas of improvement. They led us through a keyword grading exercise that helped us develop the SEO strategy for the new site.
What is the team composition?
We've worked with more than five people from Convertiv. Their team has included developers, a project manager, an SEO specialist, designers, and an account manager.
How did you come to work with Convertiv?
I searched for the top WordPress companies in our area and happened upon Convertiv. After reading their reviews, they stood out for their strategic approach and work to grow companies. The other companies weren’t as tech-savvy, experienced with WordPress, or familiar with Google Analytics as Convertiv. It was important for us to work with a company that would be able to improve how we managed our tags in Google.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $80,000–$100,000 on their services.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project started in December 2020, and it ended in April 2021. We’re still collaborating with Convertiv.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It was great working with Convertiv. Organic sessions have increased by 15%, and the average session duration has increased by 17%. The bounce rate is down 12% while goal completion is up by 13%.
How did Convertiv perform from a project management standpoint?
We had a tight deadline for this project; it had to be done in four months. Convertiv did a great job delivering it. If their team was in danger of missing a deadline, they informed us about it. Their team also told us how any changes we requested impacted the deadline, helping us to meet the launch date.
Communication is excellent. I tend to overcommunicate, and Convertiv is fine with that. They meet all of our deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’m most impressed by their strategic approach. When our team wanted a specific design, Convertiv had no problem giving feedback and explaining it. That was really valuable. Their team helped us come up with different approaches to design informed by their experiences.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We had an issue that had more to do with WordPress than Convertiv’s services. After launching the website, we had a slight issue with redirects. That, however, was quickly cleaned up.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just be clear in all of your requirements. Have every aspect of the project outlined in detail.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the US marketing director for a workforce management company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Convertiv?
We opened an office in the US a bit over a year ago. We were looking for a very proactive, responsive, and high-performing digital agency.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Our main aim was pipeline generation and new business generation, and we decided to do that from a holistic point of view. We work with them on SEO, SMM, SEA (search engine advertising), PPC, paid search, and paid advertising. We’ve done a lot of advertising with them to get leads.
They also give us recommendations on how to optimize our website for better performance and conversions in the US.
What is the team composition?
There are about 10 people, including a project manager, an account manager, an SEO specialist, and somebody that helps solely in terms of LinkedIn, Facebook, and social media advertising. We sometimes have contact with more senior people as well.
How did you come to work with Convertiv?
A past employee had worked with them or knew of them from a previous company. We interviewed a few agencies when we decided to launch in the US, and Convertiv is the one that came with the best plan.
How much have you invested with them?
My company has spent $160,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2019, and it’s an ongoing engagement.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’re very happy with them. There’s been a significant increase in traffic of 160%.
How did Convertiv perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management is excellent. It’s very clear. We use Jira. We also have a weekly status meeting with them. They send us an agenda before every meeting and a recap of the meeting afterward, which includes what needs to be done in the week ahead.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re a true partner. The team is extremely proactive and responsive, and they have a very agile way of working. They’re a very good fit for us.
They really focus on the growth of our business; we don’t feel like just a number or an account. They really care about what we’re doing. COVID-19 has been difficult for everyone, but they’ve been extremely sympathetic and have really tried to help us through it.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We don’t have anything for them to improve. I’m very happy. We’re very open with each other in terms of what we expect and what they need from us. They hold us accountable to it.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Definitely work with them. They’re a great agency to work with. Make sure you have weekly status meetings and continually give them business goals so that they can achieve their job.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of marketing and sales operations for a global electrical component manufacturer. Our products are used across every region and market for anything from IoT to Aerospace.
What challenge were you trying to address with Convertiv?
As a 90-year-old manufacturing company, we have a small internal marketing team and don’t have the resources we need to modernize. We rely on Convertiv to fill a gap in our knowledge base and to help us with web design and development, as well as digital marketing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They helped drive our digital transformation through branding, design and development work for our new platform. Our site wasn’t on a modern CMS, so they rebuilt our website from the ground-up. They used WordPress and developed a web app with parametric search built on AWS. They also made our site API enabled which will give us the ability to connect and share our product information with distributors and marketplaces.
What is the team composition?
Our team is comprised of 5-6 people, including our account lead, Tom (Associate Digital Producer, Convertiv), web developers, SEO experts, digital advertising experts, and graphic designers.
How did you come to work with Convertiv?
They had an outstanding business relationship with our CEO that predates when I was hired. During my interview process, I met with them, and ultimately decided to take this position because I knew that having a partnership with Convertiv meant that I had the resources I need to do my job.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost of our annual retainer is about $300,000, and all-in we’ve spent about $500,000 which includes the development of our web app, photography, branding and digital marketing support.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project started in January 2018 and it is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve been an integral part of taking a 90-year-old manufacturing company and helping to drive us through a digital transformation. Compared to just a few months ago, our site has majorly been improved. It has a modern infrastructure that is going to enable us to scale.
Since we have a long sales cycle (2+ years), it's hard to prove ROI at the moment; however, we are seeing an increase in leading indicators and top of funnel pipeline growth that will put us in a strong position to hit our future goals. Through their hard work, they've been able to make an old school manufacturing company into a cool modern brand that is seen as innovators and thought leaders in the industry.
How did Convertiv perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re very well organized and they document everything. They use InVision to show us their creative work. This makes it really easy for me to share what Convertiv is working on with our management team or distribution partners and sell them on a concept.
Internally, they use Jira, but we also have weekly meetings and I talk to Tom on a daily basis. Working with them is like working with an extension of our internal team.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re able to see the full picture of how different pieces work together cohesively.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think there’s any room for improvement. Any restraints have been because of our budget.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Their services might seem expensive, but when you put the expense in relative terms, such as headcount and average deal size, you quickly see that you are getting a bargain, given the quality of work delivered. They’re good at guiding their clients, assessing the situation and determining their needs now and in the future. Their expert advice helps their clients spend wisely and reduce waste in marketing spend. When you have an opportunity to grow your business and work with a company like Convertiv, you need to grab it.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We are a small international software company. We offer a product that acts as a translation engine between data warehouses and VI tools. It’s used by several large enterprises to help with analytics initiatives. I run our sales operations.
What challenge were you trying to address with Convertiv?
When we hired them, most of our needs were in the marketing space. We had a lot of technical issues with our website, and the content wasn't very well optimized. We wanted to be more searchable, improve our conversions, and increase our engagement opportunities. Users who visited our site had trouble finding downloadable information about us.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We started by removing any broken links or errors on pages to better our rankings. They did a deep analysis of the site and made recommendations for areas we could improve from a technical SEO perspective. They also looked at keywords to determine what areas we should target for our content and advertising.
They matched a list of topics that we were passionate about with market needs to have more cost-effective PPC campaigns. We also asked for specific recommendations to improve the conversion percentage and the UX of the site. They recommended a more digestible product section and tests for our content offerings. The most important metrics we measured were inquiries, qualified leads, and sales opportunities generated through the site, and the team continues to support those efforts.
What is the team composition?
We worked with five or six people on their team. They offered expertise in all the areas we needed, and we had leaders for technical SEO, conversion optimization, organic SEO, and paid ads.
How did you come to work with Convertiv?
One of my colleagues worked with them previously and introduced us. I spoke with them and a few other providers. No other agency offered the full scope that Convertiv did, and we liked that they were local to our area.
How much have you invested with them?
We spend about $10,000 per month with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together around November 2018, and the engagement is still active.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We continue to see an uptick on the number of inquiries on the site. Out of those inquiries, the number of opportunities and qualified leads are up as well. We see more velocity in all of those vectors than before we started working with them.
How did Convertiv perform from a project management standpoint?
During the bulk of our work together, they were extremely organized. We worked through Jira and had a weekly call, but they were open to ah-hoc discussions when necessary. They provided detailed agendas and recaps before and after every call, and they were very good at making sure we were attuned to everything they were working on.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They're very good at understanding the businesses they work with. They provide recommendations and offer good contacts for things they don't do. I'm content with how they've helped us so far.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don't have any complaints or improvements for them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Ask for their contacts, and don't be afraid to ask follow-up questions.
The client is very satisfied with their work and partnership with Convertiv. The team provides continuous feedback, clear timelines, and informed explanations for projects and tasks. Convertiv offers honest and straightforward recommendations, and the team is enjoyable to work with.
