I am CEO at Affordia Oy, a Finland-based IT company. We have implemented many websites for our customers, including the Worldwide IQ Test website, where people can take IQ tests online on the internet.
For what projects/services did your company hire Constellix?
People are coming to the worldwide-iq-test.com website literally from all around the world, and that's why we have web servers on different continents. There was a need for a reliable GeoDNS service that would always forward people to the closest server.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted our end-users to always get the best and fastest service experience by accessing the closest server available out there, no matter where they are located. We noticed quickly that the traditional Round-robin DNS wasn't working well as it didn't forward people to the closest server.
How did you select Constellix?
We found Constellix on the internet while looking for solutions to make the page load times faster on our website. I booked a time for a meeting, and that's how it started.
Describe the project in detail.
We needed to speed up our page load times with Constellix's geographic load balancing (GeoDNS) and an automatic failover mechanism. The purpose was to make our end-users think that our website is fast regardless of their physical location on earth.
What was the team composition?
Three people on Constellix's side supported us in implementing the services we needed.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We have measured our page load times from all over the world and found out that typically, they have dropped from 3-4 seconds to 1-2 seconds. That is a considerable performance improvement that positively affects our customer's experience on the website.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I only had a little knowledge of GeoDNS before, but we arranged meetings where they walked us thru their services and how things should be implemented effectively.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I was impressed by how kind these people were. It was so effortless to work with them. If I had any questions, they were always willing to help us out.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We were satisfied with their commitment to this project and also their willingness to implement new things on their services.
