With a short timeline, I needed to move office locations, get network setup and various infrastructure changes.

I met Travis through a mutual IT contact. I had spoken to him on a couple of different occasions. After talking to him in person about the scope of the work, we came to an agreement.

Travis and his team assisted with ~50 network drops, including punching down and terminating wire. They also helped with the network and infrastructure setup.

I spoke with Travis and he had 2 of his team members assist.

What were your goals for this project?

We needed an IT company to provide collaborating efforts in regards to the information technology decisions, IT development and IT planning during the pre-construction and construction phases of the project. We also needed help locating and securing broadband data services, select the best hardware vendors, and coordinate with team to create a plan to achieve our desired “user technology experience” in the housing units, clubhouse, and leasing office.

How did you select this vendor?

We wanted to partner with an IT company that truly understands the student housing and multifamily business model, and operated nationally. We chose CTS because they have over 15 years of experience in our industry and focus exclusively in our industry. We felt they could offer us a robust portfolio of services of expertise tailored to our unique needs that a traditional IT company could not provide.

Describe the project in detail.

The project was a 120 bed new developoment in Big Rapids, Michigan. CTS helped us develop the technology budget and managed the project from start to finish, installing and all of the hardware in the clubhouse, leasing office, and units. Finally they provides us ongoing IT management and support.

What was the team composition?

We were assigned a project manager who oversaw budget and technology deliverable. This project manager worked with all of the contractors and also CTS system engineers and coordinated low voltage rough-in and final technology installations.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Thanks to CTS, they were able to offer us cost-effective and innovative solutions that not only saved us money, but helped increase our capacity quickly by offering amenities that helped us stay competitive in that market.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The workflow was very smooth, their team was in constant communication with my team and they met all of their established deadlines with their deliverables.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

In addition to being very professional, I was impressed by how knowledgeable they were about the Student Housing and Multifamily industry. With CTS, I feel like we have a partner that truly understands our unique needs as a student housing developer. They provide innovative and also cost-effective solutions.
