Sometimes you just have to dance!! Harkalive is an interactive marketplace where prospective students can find live or pre-recorded instruction for all styles of dance disciplines, yoga, functional fitness, and much more!
Harkalive was an idea that spun out of the global pandemic that required expertly applied web development, engaging design, expert-level UX/UI, and life-altering content.
CIT was tasked with creating not just a web platform, but a marketplace that keeps users coming back for more. Being that instructor content was out of our hands (as it should be as developers aren’t known for their movement), we were faced with the difficult problem of how to encourage participation from multiple countries, discerning users, and alternative motivations.
By utilizing a custom video segment as the user’s first impression of the platform, we were able to communicate one of the fundamental ideas behind the platform and humanity, movement is joy. The user is then greeted by available classes, a searchable database of groups, or for those unsure of where to start, a quick quiz to make suggestions of your first experience. Encouraging participation from the first impression is an integral part of the success of the website. We created a website that not only accomplishes its goals, but does so in a fun, light-hearted way.

Imagine having an established process that is effective and is integral to your business, but has a series of milestones dependent on others’ timelines, ability to complete paperwork, and exchange information. A series of complex matrices in the form of spreadsheets that meet the need, but are missing the ability to expertly apply the data without a lot of human touch points and data entry. That is what Tax Hack was dealing with everyday. The previous methods were missing the ability to automatically engage their clients with reminders. They also lacked the ability to automatically tabulate where a client was in the process of their application and what the next steps were without manually doing so. What could be done to complete these time-consuming administrative tasks, whilst still allowing Tax Hack to keep the client engaged with the process? The Ideal Solution During the initial phase of the project, we worked alongside the team at Tax Hack to uncover their lofty goals and build a system that was going to be a crown jewel in their business. CodingIT was tasked with developing a solution that could accomplish the following: The ability to have tiered access for users to accomplish their assigned tasks without unnecessary information exchange Manage and distribute client communication based upon their established process Present smart dashboards based upon a client’s progression Automate large portions of the R&D workflow for the Tax Hack team to save time and budget whilst not compromising quality or compliance Provide a web-based application with delightful and intuitive user experience for different audiences and goals In a matter of weeks CodingIT was able to present a finalized draft of what the application needed to be to exceed their expectations. We had to build a platform from scratch. We built a subscription platform for online dance and movement classes. And then the project expanded into a fully bespoke marketplace platform to expand the business into new regions and with connect supply and demand in different geographies.

They developed the platform from scratch: Subscription platform has a sign up page, a login page integrated with Memberstack and Stripe, a dashboard for customers with access to live classes and recorded content. The marketplace platform has multiple modules including: - Listings, search, customer dashboard, supply dashboard, time conversion for local times, Stripe Connect integration. Both platforms also include a CMS (Content Management System) or "Super Admin" to manage listings, profiles, on-demand content, and more.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
3 people: A CTO, and two developers.

We launched both platforms and managed to acquire customers from 20 countries paying an average of $30/month.

The project management was tailored to this project. We had direct communication with the CTO as well as developers and were able to share with them mockups, wireframes, design drawings and requirements through email, Discord and phone.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
While the quality of the work was great, it would be good to improve the documentation process so that this can be taken on by any other developer in the future. However I would recommend them again to other companies, especially those working globally.

The original website was built approximately 2 years ago and was badly in need of a redesign and promotion as there are tons of new people exploring this part of the world.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I was referred to them from a friend. I needed someone who spoke Spanish and English, understood Western tastes, the Luxury market for homes and rentals, and how to promote these items online.

Complete website redesign. It needed to look and feel premium throughout as the desired clientele are the top 10% of the Americas. Would up with a 15 page website that drastically outperforms the previous version in terms of site speed, UX/UI, and organic results.

3 worked with me directly. Pablo Sosa, the co-founder, was responsible for ensuring my vision was communicated to the team and on time. Leandro Suero served as the Development Lead and my questions were answered. Pablo A was the other developer that I worked with for the design and UX/UI improvements.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
They met my budget of $6,000 USD and delivered the new site in about 60 days from the kickoff.

Very communicative and responsive! I was in a Discord channel with their team and could ask questions directly to them and get a response the same day (usually within minutes or hours). Files were shared via a shared drive for the project on Google. Copy/site structure were first organized in Google Sheets/Docs to make live edits and sharing easier.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They understood my goals and desired outcomes but did not assume that they did. They made me feel as if I was their only client, even though I know they have others.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
This is something they said they are going to address, but invoicing was a little confusing as I didn't have too much experience with wire transfers. They mentioned they are creating a portal to pay invoices on their websites with CC and ACH to make it a little easier on people like me.
The client is pleased with the final outputs thanks to CodingIT's dedication to the project. After launching, the client managed to acquire customers from more than 20 countries. The team created tailored project management for the collaboration to address all the client's needs.
