Issue:
One of the zoo systems had errors in its programming and it was not possible to modify information supporting the business area for updates on prices, hours and general information during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Solution:

The company offers online English language learning services, accompanied by native language tutors in individual classes. The company originally from Tulsa, in Oklahoma, has students in different Spanish-speaking countries positioning itself as one of the main platforms in distance learning today.
Issue:
The development and maintenance of the platform was compromised by a development team which did not meet the minimum accepted standards for the growth and support of the system.
The platform began to have a series of anomalies which severely affected its operation.
Solution:
Our team at the time of getting involved in the project began to train the company's programmers and our agile development methodology was implemented, in addition, a communication standard for daily meetings was established with them.
The priority was and continues to be that the current managers know at all times the status of the modules being developed, and that they have knowledge of what is happening with the system (For this, a direct communication channel was created, and a results meeting was scheduled every two weeks).

Codebay provided a full stack developer who helped develop the backend and date pipeline. They also supported low code and tool based front end development and later, after beta testing, full front-end development. We were a company in early stages, so we worked with more junior members of the Codebay team. All of them were talented and ambicious for this stage of their career and delivered excellent results.
The full stack developer was a critical member of our team and worked well with contractors from other organizations to integrate their work with our overall objectives. Everyone showed a strong work ethic and understanding of our business context and needs.

Nothing for me. We lost a team member right at the end of a major project, but this happens with talented people, and the job offer they received speaks to the calibre of people at Codebay. Each location independently managed their sales and at the end of the day they were register in the system, which was often not accurate. So we had a very high need to change our system for one that had our own processes and we could see the sales of each location in real time.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I had already worked with them on a previous project, so I consulted them and the solution they presented to me was very promising.

They developed a system which integrates the cash register of each location, as well as a website where I can see the status, sales and reports of the entire company or any of the locations. We contracted Amazon for the server service so that the system was visible at all times and to generate recurring backups (this is automatic).

I'm not sure, first we had a person who evaluated the processes and made a proposal, then someone from graphic design came in, and in the end two programmers were doing practically all the development. There is a part-time person who helps coordinate everything.

Today I can see in real time what happens in each location of the company. There was success with the main objective! Of course the project did not end there, we have gradually added other modules, and a new website is even being developed so that clients can order and reserve online.

The first project for which Codebay was hired was for the development of an application which was created to print on cards and on different types of products. The second project, which we are currently working on, is the creation of an ecommerce, we hope to increase our reach and improve our sales significantly.

The first project was simple, it did not require much effort, the system was made with C#. For the ecommerce a different methodology was implemented due to the size of the project: scrum, where we meet several times a week, and where results are shown twice a month. Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the general manager of a manufacturing company. We manufacture covers for potable water and sewer systems.
What challenges were you trying to address with Codebay?
We needed help with developing a web app.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Codebay developed a web app for us. Initially, we got together with them and explained our needs, and they provided us with different proposals for a solution. Once we approved one of the proposals, they started the development.
This app is a portal that allows our clients to add and download commercial information, including invoices, purchase orders, payment vouchers, and more.
What was the team composition?
We worked directly with three people from Codebay, including Alberto (CEO), who was in charge of the project. Aside from them, I assume that more people were involved and collaborated in the project.
How did you come to work with Codebay?
I took a project incubation training program at a local University. I met Alberto there, and when this project came up, I contacted him to talk about it. This project seemed like a good fit for both of us.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent around $50,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started this project around January 2018, and the app was launched in January 2019. Currently, they continue making updates and providing maintenance services for us.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Thanks to this web app, 90% of our current clients have found us online, and the services we offer on our platform are very attractive to them. They’ve also pointed out how easy to use and efficient our site is.
How did Codebay perform from a project management standpoint?
Codebay was very professional and dedicated. We used WhatsApp and email to communicate, and we also had a couple of Zoom calls and in-person meetings as needed.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Codebay was great at their job, and they demonstrated vast experience, which was impressive. To this date, they’re very attentive, kind, and always available, and whenever we have any requests or questions, they solve them right away.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have any constructive feedback to share. I know that the project took a long time to be finished, but it was a very complex development, so I don’t know if it would have been possible to achieve something like that in a shorter period of time.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very detailed about your requirements and provide Codebay with all of the necessary information so that they can develop the project in a more efficient and effective manner.
The provided resources have been living up to expectations, allowing the client to save more time and focus on other important tasks. Codebay follows a smooth workflow and plans ahead to avoid any unnecessary delays or issues. Overall, customers can expect a skilled, efficient, and reliable partner.
