Issue:
One of the zoo systems had errors in its programming and it was not possible to modify information supporting the business area for updates on prices, hours and general information during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Solution:
Our team identified the system failures, a

diagnosis was made and the different vulnerabilities were repaired; In addition, the platform was migrated to a separate server to run future tests and modifications, as well as security backups.

Omnilife is a Mexico-based company and the largest in the world that develops high-quality dietary supplements, helping thousands of people to maintain or improve their health.

We designed and implemented a product management app for the product display centers located in Mexico, Cancun, and Guadalajara.

The previously mentioned app, developed with Android, is capable of showing information between different

monitors consecutively with a command from a tablet. The user selects the wanted product from the device and the monitors display different graphic elements: the first monitor shows a picture of the chosen product, the second one a small description and the third one an animation of the exact part of the body which will be benefited.

Ekar de Gas is a company from Guadalajara, considered as the most important home appliances distributor in Jalisco, which also sells housework related products; being his principal goal the welfare and efficiency of families.

Issue:
Their previous website presented multiple shortcomings: it wasn't compatible with mobile devices and different screen resolutions, poor aesthetics, deficient and outdated information.

Their content didn't reflect the quality and current extent of the company either.

Solution:
We developed an eCommerce, capable of serving as an independent retail outlet to any of the branches. The user can either buy a product online and receive it in a specific location, order a product and pick it up in a store, or just use our platform as a catalog and window-shop the products in stock. In addition to the online shop, the new platform is a media outlet for publishing sales, communicating with clients, sharing news, and indicating policies.

There were deliverables every two weeks as an agile development methodology called SCRUM was used. Each booklet presented the advances developed and worked over the two weeks of work.

Each team member made a delivery of advances through constant communication. The technologies generally used were PHP and JavaScript.

We worked with 3 people from the development team.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

As I mentioned before, the deliverables were a fundamental tool for us to get to know more about the development of the project. The results of the project were very efficient since we had the opportunity to attend any type of incidence.

We had never worked with an agile development methodology, which we found excellent because it helped us to avoid delays.

One of the most important communication tools were our daily and the every two week deliverables. In those meetings the team presented their advanced and the key deliverables of the project development.

The dailys helped us to get in touch very often and that was a great advantage because we had the chance to be involved in the process.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their ability to communicate with us. Our project was fluently developed because of their great communication skills. Their methodology helped us build an effective channel where we could attend our doubts and receive the scope of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think they have had an excellent performance with us. Mountcrete is completely satisfied with Codebay and we hope we can develop more projects together. Their responsability and experience are the most important factors that we take into account when we hire a team. Codebay has both of them.

They are a kind of rockstars in Cámara de Comercio, a networking group where almost all businessman from Guadalajara offers their services, so we talked with them, and we noticed they know what they speak, they presented us a working plan to solve our big problem with migrating our internal web applications to the cloud, and we ended working with Codebay since we wanted a serious and secure company to satisfy our needs.

They created an architecture to put all our services to the cloud, in this case, AWS. After that, we needed a way to handle all our projects, so they developed an administrative web application that reports us when a website or web application breaks and even automatically run up stopped processes, this was important since we used to stop activities when one service suddenly stops work properly, they were a key piece to save us a lot of money and have good control for our company.

There were 3 people, a senior lead and programmer, a senior devop and a senior designer.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We can work with no stopping activities!!! that is amazing!!! And if was not enough, they trained our IT team, in case if something gets bad.

The leader was always in touch with me, every two weeks he was sending measured progress of their work and time estimations according to new requirements. The communications were video calls with zoom, phone calls, and text messaging through popular applications like whatsapp. And all the management of the web application was in Jira.

They are good even when they fail, The team didn't make excuses and they always gave us solutions and we were always aware of the health of the project.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I don't think so, they were always communicative and we didn't have any surprises.

I have tried many software developer freelancers in different sites. Some are good, some are terrible, it's a matter of trying with mini projects to test results. They are quite good! You keep whats good.

Simple is better. We don't like bureaucracy. If we have a customer looking for a coding solution, we make them fill in a questionary with all information so we send the info to them, set an appointment and they start working. They deliver on time, even before deadline. Communication is not an extra work and that is a plus!

Well... Having so much in mind at the same time makes my agency get lost into work. Luckily, Codebay realized about this and the offered to develop an extension for my ERP so we can be more productive. Thats what amazed me: They didn't only helpped us as a provider, but they went the extra mile discovering what opportunity areas we had and offered us an internal solution to improve!

We are very happy and satisfied with their work. I'm sure they'll find the way to improve because it's a part of any good company.

Even though my main contact still is with the project manager, we first worked with a web designer who showed us a preview of what the site would look like, then, a digital marketing advisor gave us important ideas for creating content, and then, one senior web developer took care of anything new that needed to be done, and another junior web developer, actually is giving support publishing products and keeping important updates.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We are really grateful with Codebay because of their ability to accelerate work and have our site earlier than estimated and really helped our company survive through the Covid-19 pandemic. All of our physic stores where closed, but at least online sales through our new website let us kept 30% of our sales (comparing those months with the same ones last year) our clients were satisfied with their experience and we managed to keep going through rough times!

With us, the client, Codebay really kept comunication simple using emails. We have a shared file where they continuously keep adding tasks, reporting their progress and the estimated time to get the work done. So I keep trackof what they are doing and assign the priority of tasks according to our business interests.

Even they have complex knowledge of web developing, they still can explain stuff in plain words, and they are really honest and accurate with their forecasts.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

They always are, I think in our project, completing all the requirements our bank was asking for to let us use their interface (Multipagos Express by BBVA) really took a long time.

I am the COO of Akibaville. I work directly in the logistic and foreign trade area. I also develop commercial and marketing strategies for the brand's position.

For what projects/services did your company hire Codebay, and what were your goals?

We were looking for the development of an e-commerce platform and a system where we could locate all our products on the website and manage all the orders of our clients. We were also lookinf for some ideas related to the product's online presentation.

We wanted to present ecommendations, suggestions, best selling or offers to our costumers. We hired Codebay's team work to develop our e-commerce site and the systems needed to have a perfect organization wit the logistic area and also to avoid any kind of falls.

SOLUTION

How did you select Codebay and what were the deciding factors?

We searched online for developers and we select Codebays website as one of the most interesting working models. Because as it says on their site, we could be able to select the perfect developers for our project with the support of an experienced company behind them.

We scheduled a Free Consultation Service where we exposed our needs and requirements. They gave some programming recommendations for the development of the project and showed us a developer profile that best matched with our requirements.

Codebay's teamwork developed the eCommerce with WordPress as a base; a connection with ShopMaster was implemented, which is a system to manage orders. Codebay not only supports the development of everything but also hosts the platform on its servers.

Likewise, a selected team was assigned to us. Including a programmer and a full-time PM (Project Manager) contracted with them for incident management and control, or new modules that may have to be developed.

The situations that Codebay has helped us to solve are:

  • A daily security backup is automated.  
  • A system was created to measure traffic and to adapt the resources of the servers to avoid falls.
  • An order/logistics control module has been created and a CRM adapted to the system.
  • Repair of bugs in general.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The project manager was the person who worked constantly with us. And there was a junior developer working on the development of our site.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We saw truly benefits when we launched our e-commerce. Our sales increased 85% since the website was presented to our prospects and online costumers.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

First of all, we had a kick-off meeting where we could set all the assignments and define the following steps for our project. In addition, we have a daily meeting with the project manager to talk about everyday progress.

They present sprints every two weeks (approx) so it was easier for us to check the advance of our project and all the milestones. Once a month the commercial coordinator talk to us to ask about our experience with Codebay and if we are completely satisfied with the team that has been assigned to us. It gives us the chance to have effective communication with them.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They work with a very efficient methodology. It helps us to have an understanding of communication with all the members of the programming area. It is easier for us to work with people who support us.

We don't detect any areas of improvement. We are very happy with their work model.

eKomite was born from a research center linked to a general hospital; Our area is dedicated to keeping the processes and records of medical research. I’m dedicated to managing the research center.

The main objective was to develop a cloud platform which would optimize our processes, store our records and have the possibility of working remotely.

We were working with a software firm previously, which were very bad and were not very responsible; After searching they referred us to ADDA, we validated their experience and we also had the opportunity to evaluate the team with whom we would work. The project consists of developing a PHP cloud platform to take control of our processes, be able to submit documents for research documents, store records and validate information with researchers without the need for them to physically come to our center; as well as having everything with a high level of security. ADDA provided us with a team dedicated solely to our project, from a designer, programmers and a project manager who was constantly in communication with us.

What was the team composition?

A project manager, a UI / UX designer, and two PHP programmers, one senior and one middle.

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

Our investigation committee was slow and we carried out all the processes manually. Originally the system was only for us, but when checking the effectiveness by saving enough time, doing more work with less personnel, we began to distribute it.

They used SCRUM methodology, from the beginning, a calendar of activities was defined, and meetings every two weeks. The result was so effective that to this day we continue to develop with them.
