I’ve participated in the Blockchain Stuttgart hackathon with a team, and CML Team developers were in a rival team. I had a chance to see their solution and talk to Oleksandr, their CVO and other engineers which gave me confidence that they are very deep into the industry and have profound expertise. So when in my new company we had a need to involve people with blockchain expertise it was no brainer for me to reach out to the CML Team first.

CML Team built a set of microservices that allow fans to support their clubs by buying club tokens. The first microservice works with stripe and processes payments. The second one is a scalable and robust web3 integration that manages the organization's master wallets, controls club tokens, and provides a process of safety transferring tokens. Finally, a token builder serves for deploying and controlling tokens, including minting, burning, etc.

In the matter of weeks CML Team were able to build a POC microservice and then over the next month polish it to the perfection. This key microservice is already in production and allows us to scale even faster and win new markets.

We had a delivery manager on the vendor side to build the management process. Overall the CML Team used agile and scrum methodology, organized regular weekly demos and shipments of the product’s feature sets and milestones.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m a co-founder at FYNTS, a marketing space startup that helps retailers build omnichannel strategies via a mobile app. Our platform allows customers to digitize their inventories and do ads. The app can be downloaded by existing and future customers. I’m responsible for developing the FYNTS mobile app; I essentially take on the role of product manager.

We needed CML’s mobile app development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our team initially approached CML with some ideas and mock-ups, and then they made proposals for the UI/UX design and backend of the app. 

We’re still working on the app, and CML is working on our marketing strategies. For core features, the app helps people find local shops and products. A retailer can use this app for marketing their store and products on a location-based advertising model. The platform is available on iOS and Android devices.

We’ve worked with two full stack developers, one QA specialist, and a project manager.

I was friends with entrepreneurs that worked with CML in the past. They recommended the team because their long-term relationship with the group had gone well.

The original budget for this project is $50,000 — right now, we’ve invested around half of that.

We started working with CML in June 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.

There aren’t any hard data available yet since we’re still in the rollout phase.

We’re happy with CML’s project management skills. They meet deadlines and budgets. If they need to do extra work, they’re transparent about what that means in terms of additional fees. Overall, their work has been fair and transparent — they’re spot on. 

Moreover, when we encounter bugs or crashes, they respond quickly. Whenever we have a  problem, we give the team a description of what has happened. They then direct the issue to either their directors or QA managers. 

In terms of tools, we use Jira, along with the classic agile development approach. To communicate, we use Slack, Zoom, and Google Meet. 

What did you find most impressive about them?

CML has done a good job of understanding what we want. On top of that, their communication is highly efficient and effective.

No, there aren’t any. We’re super happy with CML.

If you already have a rough outline of what you want, share it upfront with CML. The team can quickly pick things up and understand what the outline is about. You can prepare mock-ups or formalize your ideas through a PowerPoint presentation. These things have truly helped us get them up to speed quickly.

They had strong expertise in the FinTech domain, permanent care about solution security, full automation deployment process, strong review process that allows do not loose quality while our terrible number of change requests .

Single source of project trouble were customer teams, but we successfully lunch the project. May be, in the next project I grant CML even more project responsibility.

They built a nice working piece of software which we use on a daily base. It standardised and streamlined a labour intensive part of our work.

We are an it company ourselves with skilful developers but they were not able to build what the guys of CML built. Also it gave me confidence that the CVO was able to speak about our wishes in an abstract and analytic way.

In three months our app was completely updated in terms of UX, had many additional features, and was ready for distribution in the Dutch Google Play Store and the iOS App Store. That way we could start our software pilot on time in our first project with students and teachers at a University of Applied Sciences.

Communication was very results-oriented, which I found refreshing, and it benefitted the project due to its challenging time schedule & planning.

CML Team made sure to keep their promise and delivered the project within the agreed time, cost, and quality. Despite the Russian Invasion of Ukraine, they kept working under very challenging conditions.

Sometimes the team made too many assumptions about the required features. Proactively sending us questions by mail or calling us before building the features would have saved both parties a lot of rework and time.

xamoom developed a mobile-first content management system that makes location-based services available to everyone. I’m xamoom's CEO and cofounder. In my position I am responsible for sales and all customer contact on one side and for product development on the other side.

We were looking for software developers in Austria and could not find any in the quantity and quality we needed. So we decided on outsourcing our whole app development to CML. xamoom's core product is along it's content management system and our mobile web the mobile SDKs and mobile apps.

We not only needed development resources that met our quality standard, we also got enormous flexibility from our partnership with CML. We can now develop much faster than we could do in the past with our resources at home.

What were your goals for this project?

We’ve started our partnership with CML Team LTD helping us in developing and shipping brand new Wörthersee native iOS and Android apps for the client we have in the tourism industry.

After this was accomplished meeting our standards, we outsourced more and more apps and also our SDKs to CML. But our ultimate goal was to have a long-term partner who will be able to jump in various components of the product we’re working on.

Describe the project in detail.

In the beginning, we were working on the Wörthersee (a tourism destination in Austria) native iOS and Android apps. Those apps were based on our open-source SDK, CMS API, and required a number of third-party integrations and customizations (i.e., event database, guest card service, weather data).

CML helped with finishing and shipping both apps into the marketplaces (App Store and Play Store). We were very satisfied with the quality of work and speed of delivery.

And extended our collaboration further on building the iOS and Android apps for Éislek, a tourism region in the North of Luxemburg. CML's developers also do maintenance work (updating SDKs and functionality) on various other apps for our customers.

Lastly, the team helps us further developing our smart app, the core product of xamoom. It's a ready-made native app that can be rolled out in a matter of hours.

What was the team composition?

The size of the team varied from one to two full-stack/mobile software engineers, with partial involvement of a delivery manager at the early stages of collaboration.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Go to the app store and search for Éislek or Wörthersee and you will find the apps. Also, search for xamoom to find our smart apps that are not just deployed for customers but that we also use to demonstrate our core capabilities. We are satisfied with the outcome.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We meet twice a week for the sprint planning (Monday) and the sprint review (Friday). We specify tasks and features using Jira Cloud and Google Drive. During the week we communicate using our Slack channels. The process is efficient and effective.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The most impressive is their wide and profound expertise in various tech stacks and programming languages as well as dedication to the product and goal-driven approach in addressing problems that occur on the way.

Working with the guys from CML does not feel as outsourcing, it seems as if the team there is an extension of our team. We’re looking forward to more interesting and challenging tasks together.

Sometimes the geographical distance is not great, but it happened just once. USB cables are just not long enough to bridge Austria with Kiew. But otherwise ... we are really happy.
