Introduce your business and what you do there?

I’m the co-founder & CTO of Agile Plus, and we provide B2B digital software development services.

What challenge were you trying to address with Clever Tuna?

We needed help in designing and developing a web app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We described the specific design and development requirements we had for our customer’s project. Clever Tuna then designed and developed the web app’s frontend interface from scratch and integrated it into our customer’s existing WordPress website. They also made it mobile-friendly.

There were five solutions presented for web app visitors to save on energy consumption. In addition, visitors had a questionnaire they could fill out with information such as household size in order to help identify their needs. More importantly, visitors could submit their contact information and book an appointment to speak with our customer. Some of the technologies used were Adobe GEN Z and Figma for design and React for development. It was also connected to Microsoft Dynamics and Google APIs.

What is the team composition?

We worked with 4–5 people, including an account manager, two developers, a project manager, and a QA specialist.

How did you come to work with Clever Tuna?

We saw them on Upwork and Clutch and felt they were the best choice.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from July–September 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They integrated the web app into the website quite well, and due to that, we received a lot of positive impact from our customers. On top of that, their QC process was good, resulting in a strong and stable product. The few issues our client found were quickly resolved by the team, too. Overall, our clients were happy with the work Clever Tuna did, which prompted them to engage with us again to do updates and improvements on the web app.

How did Clever Tuna perform from a project management standpoint?

Clever Tuna’s project management process was efficient and well-managed since they followed an agile scrum methodology. We used Trello as our project management tool and communicated via Slack. Our meetings were focused and quick — with inputs from everyone — including the developers for technical aspects. Overall, we really appreciated their management style and the fact that they completed the project on time.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their managers and developers were magnificent — they produced high-quality work.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I couldn’t think of anything they could improve.

Please describe your company and your position there.

I funded this Healthcare startup in 2020 with my colleague, so I’m co-owner. The mission is to help patients who needed an online medical support in covid times.

For what projects/services did your company hire Clever Tuna, and what were your goals?

We needed to create an online solution - Webapp and Admin Panel. It was a project from scratch.

How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?

I researched and contacted nearly 15-30 vendors. Some companies took an unreasonable amount of time to react, while others never responded at all, and some provided bids in excess of my budget. The same time Clever Tuna was quick to respond and delivered a fair price quote.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

We’ve started with the Research phase when they from Clever Tuna came up with rough wireframes. Then they estimated the project in weeks, proposed a team (5-7 people, as I know) and we kicked off. Because the project isn’t live yet I can't say much since I don't want to break the NDA. In overall in a Webapp / Telemedicine software.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Project manager, plus 3-4 backend/mobile developers, QA, UI/UX Designer. Also Michael (co-owner of Clever Tuna) helped us a lot.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

We received a unified software for customers and doctors. Currently I'm looking for an investor to help promote the software. In general I’m satisfied with the deliverables I’ve got.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.

They were patient with me as I learned more about the process of mobile app development in general. For project administration and updates, we used Jira. We took multiple conversations over Slack etc.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Their working approach was transparent, which I appreciated. I was kept up to date on our progress at all times. This team was really proactive, knowledgeable, and creative.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

not sure. Everything is good.

Please describe your company and your position there.

PM responsible for new internal features and lead a team that was involved from Clever Tuna company.

For what projects/services did your company hire Clever Tuna?

We need a team that can help to implement a feature for internal use only. It’s not a big project so we decided to involve an external team.

How did you select Clever Tuna and what were the deciding factors?

We investigated and contacted some companies that in our opinion feets best and contacted them. Unosquare's transparent pricing model and flexible terms made us decide to partner with them.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

It is an internal portal where employees can add their route from home to office (and some other not related to work) to coordinate with other people to reduce the amount of cars used by our employees which will reduce pollution and save money for transportation. I can’t tell details based on the NDA of our company.

Describe the recruitment process in detail.

First we discuss details of our internal project. Made a plan with estimations, roadmap and risks. After that team started working on it with me as a PM. There were 4-6 people in a team. Team was different each month depending on tasks. In total these roles were used to develop project: 2 frontend, 2 backend/devops, 1 mobile developer, QA guy. Project was implemented and successfully used.

Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?

We had some issues with environment setup as this feature should be integrated in our existing portal but their team found great solution that prevent us from changing our existing code. Everything was done right on time.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The project was managed from our side. Their team made their tasks great.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

The speed of reaction of developers to changes in requirements and a clear adjustment to new needs. They are real problem solvers.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Everything was good. Hope They will grow and we can have a chance to work on some bigger projects.
