Freshpak
Britain’s leading supplier of sandwich fillings to supermarkets and the food service industry.
Brief
Freshpak asked Clearsilver to develop a fresh, clean brand identity for the brand and the company.
The requirement was for an identity that clearly informs audiences that this is a successful, modern food company operating in key fresh food sectors.
To support the new identity, Freshpak required the design and build of a brand-new B2B website to showcase its product range for retail and food service customers. Freshpak wanted the new site to highlight the scope and flexibility of its manufacturing capabilities, and how its in-house team can create innovative products to meet customers’ specific needs.
Freshpak also needed new imagery to promote its range of sandwich fillers, dips and other products and packaging for the pre-packed sandwich and food service industries. The company commissioned Clearsilver to create a complete set of new photography with a fresh, contemporary style and feel.
Strategy
We created a clean, eye-catching brand identity for Freshpak based on shades of green and grey. Combined with a modern sans serif typography, our new brand identity positions Freshpak as innovative and forward thinking, reflecting the high-tech, fast-moving grocery and food service industries it supplies. We also created four simple icons to denote Freshpak’s main product groups: Eggs, Tuna, Chicken and Cheese.
We designed a completely new website, based on the new identity we’d created for Freshpak. To complement the fresh, clean design and colour palette, we produced new copy to provide concise, relevant information and give the site a more approachable, less corporate tone.
Having created the appropriate look-and-feel for the new imagery, we went into the studio with a specialist food photographer and a professional food stylist. We personally directed the shoot, producing a set of beautiful, consistent images for use across all Freshpak collateral, including the new website we were designing and building.
Results
Our new identity and iconography have been applied across all media, including the new website we designed and built. Buildings and signage at Freshpak's manufacturing plant and Head Office in Barnsley are due to follow soon. We've also used elements from the logo design to help differentiate and highlight key ingredients and products.
Our new website for Freshpak is designed to be simple to use, as well as easy on the eye. The navigation is based on intuitive menus and navigation: the main-page copy is clear and concise, with plenty of technical information also available for those that need it. We've made full use of our new photography, brand identity and specially-created icons throughout the site.
We created, art-directed and delivered a suite of carefully-lit, beautifully-crafted images of Freshpak’s filled sandwiches and dips for its new website and other collateral. Working with a specialist food photographer and an experienced stylist, we captured the freshness and appetising colours and textures of Freshpak’s products so effectively you want to reach in and take a bite!

Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI)
The international governing body for equestrian sports.
Brief
The FEI asked Clearsilver, as one of its two UK-based agencies, to help it create and launch a charitable foundation. The FEI aimed to use the fund to help national federations identify and nurture potential Olympic superstars, thereby securing the future of equestrian sport worldwide.
Our task was to develop the concept, create the foundation’s brand, then introduce it to the FEI’s 132 member nations.
Strategy
The concept behind the charity, which we named the FEI Solidarity Foundation, was quite complex. We developed carefully crafted messaging to help member states understand it quickly and easily, so they could promote it effectively in their own countries.
A key part of this process was a video, which used case studies and testimonials to not only explain the mechanics of the fund, but also show the tangible benefits to individuals, national federations and equestrian sport as a whole.
Results
We created a complete suite of launch collateral for the FEI Solidarity Foundation, which was rolled out across the 132 member nations that make up the FEI.
We used video and innovative print design to successfully present a complex concept to a worldwide internal audience, enabling them to take the message clearly and effectively to their own territories.

Brain Tumour Research & Support (Yorkshire)
Brain Tumour Research & Support is Yorkshire's leading brain tumour charity dedicated to raising funds for life changing research and support for patients and their families, making life easier for those who are affected.
Brief
Brain Tumour Research and Support across Yorkshire (BTRS) came to Clearsilver looking for PR support to deliver a breaking news story in the region. BTRS patients and their families were being given the chance to see, first-hand, the latest research that scientists hope will one day cure the invasive disease.
Strategy
With 48 hours to develop a press release and secure regional media attendance at this exclusive research event, Clearsilver got to work digesting all the information and picking up the phone to speak to the most appropriate media for the story.
Results
Our media outreach secured three 5-6 minute slots on BBC Look North and included all the key messages of the campaign. Coverage was also secured in leading regional newspaper, the Yorkshire Evening Post, promoting the pioneering work being done in Leeds to try and tackle brain tumours.

Russell Eaton
With salons in Leeds and Barnsley, Russell Eaton is one of the leading hair stylists and spas in the North of England.
Brief
The company came to Clearsilver to refresh their established brand identity, and to raise awareness of the expertise of Russell Eaton’s team. The aim was to drive awareness and increase footfall.
Strategy
We knew from the outset that Russell Eaton’s online presence was critical, so we created and built a new website, with a focus on blogging and social media. Good SEO was also critical. We put together a comprehensive PR campaign, forging close links with leading fashion and beauty journalists and bloggers, and setting up CSR relationships with key partners. These included providing hair and make-up for fashion shows and shoots at Harvey Nichols in Leeds, hairdressing for the stars of TV soap Emmerdale, and supporting events for national breast cancer support charity, Breast Cancer Haven.
Results
Russell Eaton’s new identity, website and ‘Style. Beauty. Expertise.’ strapline have helped establish the company’s position as one of the top hair and beauty salons in the North of England and beyond. Clearsilver created the blog and developed social media - particularly Twitter and Facebook - to engage effectively with existing and potential clients. Through our in-salon events and partnerships with journalists and bloggers Clearsilver achieved significant PR coverage, both regionally and nationally. All our work for Russell Eaton includes both trade and consumer communications, including Robert Eaton’s work with Wella at London Fashion Week.

Change4Life
The NHS Change4Life ‘Eat well, Move more, Live longer’ campaign promotes healthy eating and exercise for families of all ages across the UK, through making easy, everyday changes for more healthy and active lifestyles.
Brief
As part of our ongoing work for Change4Life, Clearsilver was briefed to design and print a range of fun activities and games for use in primary schools, as interactive ways of educating children about the benefits of healthy eating, regular exercise and drinking non-sugary drinks.
Strategy
Using the instantly recognisable plasticine characters, Clearsilver executed complex design and print techniques to provide hard-wearing activity kits to school children around the region.
‘Fun day’ kits to support broad Change4Life national initiatives were created including Sugar Swaps, Me Size Meals, Play Your Calories Right, and Up and About.
Results
Roll-out across schools in the region has been incredibly successful in educating young children and their parents about the benefits of healthy eating and regular exercise, and encouraging changes to eating and exercise habits to achieve healthier outcomes.

Breast Cancer Haven
Breast Cancer Haven provides a tailored package of emotional, physical & practical support for anyone going through breast cancer treatment.
Brief
We’ve worked with the national breast cancer support charity, Breast Cancer Haven, since 2009, initially launching the Yorkshire centre before taking the reins on all of the charity’s national campaign-based, case-study lead and fundraising-focused PR activity.
Strategy
Over the years, we’ve become an integral part of Breast Cancer Haven’s inhouse team. We maintain all the traditional PR functions, including building relationships with journalists and editors on national and regional newspapers, broadcast media, and fashion, lifestyle and professional healthcare magazines.
Results

Harewood House
Harewood House, built in the 18th century, is one of the finest Treasure Houses of England. Visitors can enjoy exhibitions of contemporary art & more.
Brief
Working to a very tight deadline, Clearsilver was appointed to deliver region-wide PR, social media and design-for-print for ‘A Victorian Christmas at Harewood’, Harewood House’s first Christmas exhibition in five years.
Strategy
With time of the essence, we drafted our plans for an exclusive media event, a festive photo-call, social content, and penned our invite-list for suitable bloggers and online influencers to review the event. With lots to talk about, a full press release and event listings were written, and we hit the phones to make sure we could deliver. And deliver we did!
Results
Four days into the House being open to the public and we’d secured over 10 minutes of BBC and ITV broadcast coverage, two front cover magazine features, editorial spreads, numerous online mentions, local and regional radio interviews, and an abundance of ‘what’s on’ listings.
More importantly for Harewood, there was a surge in web traffic and a spike in social engagement which converted into bookings.

Leeds City Council - One Adoption
Yorkshire & Humber’s regional adoption agency, One Adoption, provides the highest level of support at all stages of the adoption process.
Brief
Leeds City Council’s adoption service required a new, fresh and innovative brand identity. This involved the creation and development of brand collateral for the overarching body, as well as each of the regional agencies, to complement the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber.
Strategy
Clearsilver’s strategic approach began with stakeholder and consumer research across each of the regional bodies; evaluating service delivery and the views and aspirations of both current and potential adoptive parents.
We worked closely with the team at Leeds City Council to understand their requirements. They needed an identity that would work across the board and be accessible for the target audience; local families living in Yorkshire.
Clearsilver created and developed ‘One Adoption’, which unites the delivery of adoption services and support throughout Yorkshire and the Humber and allows them to be viewed as ‘one’.
By using different colours to represent each part of Yorkshire; pink for West Yorkshire and blue for North Yorkshire and the Humber, we gave each regional team ‘ownership’ of the One Adoption brand identity.
This way, each region can be differentiated, whilst the overarching provider – One Adoption – remains consistent.
Results
Following completion of the brand identity we then produced 80 individual design-for-print assets providing information to inform and support parents and families at every stage of their adoption journey; including folders, booklets and posters to pens and lanyards.

Strategy
Fast forward three years and My Expert Midwife was born, with an end-to-end marketing proposition developed and delivered by Clearsilver. Demonstrating full-service at its finest the team’s communications support included consumer research and planning, design, SEO and digital, branding, PR, social media and event delivery.

Dixons Academies Trust
Dixons Academies Trust is a leading, high performing multi-academy trust of 12 schools, maximising student achievement across the region.
Brief
The team at Dixons Academies Trust first came to Clearsilver in 2016, looking for support in launching a new school - Dixons Trinity Chapeltown - in Leeds.
Following a successful Chapeltown launch, the Trust then briefed Clearsilver on a requirement for a new website and brand identity for each of the 12 academies across Yorkshire.
Strategy
We supported the Dixons Trinity Chapeltown team with marketing the school to the local area, finding the most effective way to let the target audience in Chapeltown - parents and grandparents of pre-school children - know about the new addition.
As well as a carefully designed direct mail-drop to homes and nurseries in the vicinity, we arranged presentations in the local children’s centres and media interviews for the newly appointed headteacher in regional print, TV, radio and online media.
Results
Since 2016 Clearsilver has successfully developed a brand identity and website for a total of 12 academies across West Yorkshire, as well as the main Dixons Academies Trust. And it’s not just brand identity and websites.
We’ve created an array of digital and print assets: 13 individual websites, email footers, policy documentation, powerpoint templates, impact reports and many more pieces of collateral - which has now been replicated across the board.
Clearsilver has given Dixons Academies Trust a fresh, modern look - with a consistent tone of voice across all 12 individual academies.

Girls' Schools Association
The Girls’ Schools Association (GSA) represents the Heads of a diverse range of independent top performing UK girls’ schools (day & boarding).
Brief
Clearsilver has been working with The Girls’ Schools Association (GSA) since 2013, when we were asked to create a new brand identity for its Annual Conference.
Each year, the GSA requires a new conference name and identity, a complete set of literature - including a 40-page brochure, folder and information leaflet - plus banners, staging and promotional items. This includes two alternative design concepts.
Strategy
We develop both creative routes across the full range of collateral - print, digital and social media - to demonstrate how these would work in practice.
Results
Our brand identities for the Girls’ Schools Association conferences are seen by over 200 delegates over three days, as well as on the GSA’s social media feeds.
