Web Operations Manager - for an American based fishing apparel and tackle company
For what projects/services did your company hire Clean Commit, and what were your goals?
Our website went headless and instead of a traditional shopify ecom platform we had an api based website looking to gain speed and increase conversions. However, we were not seeing the results with our previous developers and the project was overall becoming a money sucker.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We found this vendor through youtube and other social media platforms and the deciding factor was that headless was their niche service at a reasonable price.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Clean Commit team was able to find us a better financial solution to make the project a lot more cost-effective. They've been great with communication and has done a tremendously terrific job in getting our site to perform with the intention we had entered the project with and was unable to see it until we began working with the clean commit team.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Tim was our project manager and WK was our lead developer. Both were amazing at making sure we were taken care of.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Our Core Web vitals have significantly improved with lighthouse scores ranging in the green.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
a combination of email, slack & jira was the perfect combination of communication tools. With the time difference this was the perfect way to organize things.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
What was most impressive was the organization and then just performance. Our site really is reaping the benefits of actual solid development that our previous developers were unable to attain.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
they were great!

AFTCO Headless Shopify + Next.js + Contentful
The American Fishing & Tackle Company are an excellent example of a business that understands the value of composable commerce, rapidly rolling out prototypes and the need to be reactive to their customer's changing needs. Over the past few months, we've partnered with AFTCO to help implement their new headless store. With their permission, we're publishing the case study to provide insights for other businesses looking to commit to the same growth play.
For years, AFTCO had operated a successful monolithic Shopify store that stocked all the great products they carry in their chain of stores across the Western parts of the U.S. What separates them from the competition (besides their awesome gear) is their willingness to take bold steps to improve their digital operations and customer experience.
The legacy Shopify store was performing well enough but had reached a natural plateau. AFTCO wanted the site to keep evolving through A/B testing, optimizations, a modern UI, and product personalisation. Adding plugins or extensions to the site to achieve these goals was hurting their core web vitals and page load times, preventing them from getting closer to their goals.
We helped their team:
- Reach 99/100 performance score on Google's page speed insights
- Fix their failing Core Web Vitals assessment
- Set up a CI/CD pipeline so content changes in Contentful automatically publish
- Integrate Klevu, an AI-product recommendation service
- Find a hosting solution that fits their budget much better
- Save over a TB of monthly data transfer by optimizing their site's performance
- Implement tailored content writing tools to improve their marketing team's quality of life and efficiency
- Achieve a future-proofed architecture where any service can be replaced without needing to overhaul the entire platform
GetBuilt PMS (Laravel, Next.js)
What happens when the only SaaS available for wardrobe and shower screen manufacturers is full of functionality holes?
This is the problem GetBuilt were faced with. They needed a team management tool that could coordinate their team, ensure their warehousing team didn't miss a beat, but was simple enough for everyone to use. The only off-the-shelf software made for their situation was a poor fit.
The first step in the project was to take their team through a two-session roadmapping process to figure out all the problems they were trying to solve and suggest the best solution possible.
The requirements were bundled into a low-fidelity clickable prototype which let the GetBuilt verify that we were on the money with what was going to be built.
Finally, the project was designed and is currently in development.
While the guys originally wanted a mobile app, it became clear pretty quickly that they needed a system that would work on a desktop too so they could organise their team from their office desktops. They were set on needing push notifications, which left us in an interesting position - building a PWA with a custom push notification system that could be used by iOS's recently released experimental push notification feature.
The project is currently ongoing and on track for release by the end of the year.

Headless LMS (Laravel, React, Next.js)
Teachable is a great platform for training-based businesses to get started with. It offers content management, cheap video hosting, and all the tools to create a custom website.
But when a company like GameDev.tv grows, they demand customisations and extensibility that Teachable cannot handle. Unfortunately, there are few options for extending the platform. Its API is not robust enough to support a headless implementation and there are no decent competitors on the market.
The GameDev team had a growing list of requirements being unmet:
- A customer-facing website that wasn't bound to Teachable's template
- Advanced and accurate attribution measurements
- "Power user" content management tools
- More streamlined video uploading process
- Cheap video hosting
- Excellent SEO
- The ability to easily add functionality and extend the plat
With this in mind, we helped the GameDev team assess the possibility of extending Teachable or replacing it with a competitor before landing on the conclusion that a custom solution is the best way forward.
The final solution is being built with four main services;
1. Laravel learning management system
2. Next.js custom facing website
3. Strapi content management system
4. Bunny.net video hosting and streaming service
The project is currently ongoing and will be released in 2023.

Quizpipe Development (Laravel, Vue.js, Gatsby.js)
Our team wanted to run quizzes to help grow our email list. The problem was that all the available solutions were... garbage. A couple of decent solutions were over-engineered and cost an arm and a leg.
We wanted something simple that looked good and could send leads directly to our CRM.
A few hundred hours of development later, Quizpipe was born. Leveraging a decoupled front and backend built with Laravel and a frontend built with Vue.js, Quizpipe tackles some complexity to deliver quiz logic in a user-friendly interface.

Humanforce WordPress Website (WordPress)
Humanforce is a multi-national SaaS company that build and manage workforce management software.
They were in a unique position. Their team is full of highly talented developers, but their engineers can't spare the time or focus to help make manage the company website. Unfortunately for the marketing team, the site was difficult to maintain without development expertise.
We entered the scene originally to help solve this problem and enable the Humanforce marketing team. Our goal was to empower them to build new landing pages and manage the content without needing help from a developer.
Shortly after the project commenced, we took the reins of both design and development.
The project is reaching the final stages and the results are looking excellent. The marketing team have taken control of their site again, allowing them to explore some more advanced methods to squeeze performance from arguably their most important promotional asset.

Selectr (Laravel, Vue.js)
Selectr is a highly innovative application that aims to help local sports clubs across Australia manage their selection days.
The project was conceptualised in mid 2019. With no other applications or systems operating in this space, the first challenge was creating a detailed definition of exactly how the application would work and what it would do for the user.
Once the requirements had been finalised we worked closely with the Selectr team to design a logo and branding styles that would be used for all of their digital presence.
The application itself is a Progressive Web Application (PWA) built with a Laravel backend and Vue.JS frontend. These two highly popular frameworks combine to ensure the future proofing, performance and easy maintenance of the application.
At the time of writing, the first iteration of Selectr is moving through user acceptance testing and being released publicly.

Shi hairdressing (Gatsby.js)
Shi hairdressing was in desperate need of a website design update. Their site wasn't built on any popular CMS, and in fact, the content didn't even fill the entire screen!
We proposed setting them up with a GatsbyJS based website for ultimate speed and flexibility.
Since launching their new site, the team have been getting a constant flow of traffic arriving from the web!
While this project was fairly standard, it posed some fun and unique challenges in terms of design. Hair salons need to be creative and moody. We did our best to fit the "industrial" look Zach's team requested, and they were extremely happy with the result.

Bloom Website Design and Development (Gatsby.js)
The Bloom Collective are an innovative answer to housing issues in Australia. While their project aims to solve issues for a wide range of the Australian community, they needed a website that spoke more to a corporate persona.
They approached us asking for help in designing and developing a clean, modern website. Above all else, the website needed to showcase their product photography and video.
On top of an impressive design, we incorporated modern technology resulting in blazing fast page loading times, highly search engine optimised content, and an easy user experience.
The Bloom website has been built using GatsbyJS and Netlify CMS. This React-based framework ensures the site will be future proofed with incredibly performance, and water tight security.

Dionysus Website Design & Development (Gatsby.js)
The Dionysus Movement are one of Canberra's leading event management companies. Each year they put on a number of well known festivals and events around the Australian Capital Territory.
The Dionysus team approached Clean Commit asking for help in consolidating and redesigning their outdated website. Since the website was originally built, the number of projects that the Dionysus Movement coordinate has increased to the point where it was no longer manageable.
After a number of consultations, we worked together to define a detailed list of design and functionality requirements. The design needed to speak to their creative and philosophical mission, while the website's performance needed to allow users to easily navigate a large number of upcoming and past events.
The Dionysus website has been built using GatsbyJS and Netlify CMS. This React-based framework ensures the site will be future proofed with incredibly performance, and water tight security.

SEMplicity Inc (Gatsby.js)
The SEMplicity Inc team wanted a website that looked similar to the other big cyber security companies in their space.
They approach Clean Commit to help design and develop a GatsbyJS site after learning that companies like Netflix, Spotify and IBM are choosing this technology.
This project wrapped up very quickly. Once we had all the icons and creative content from the client, the design was completed and fully developed within the space of four weeks.
Using Netlify CMS in conjunction with GatsbyJS has allowed the team to update content quickly and easily. While this wasn't necessarily part of their "requirements", any team that isn't planning to make a lot of content edits want it to be simple and self-explanatory.

Viega iPad App & Web Interface (React Native)
To support a national competition, Viega needed an iPad application that would allow people on the street to quickly and easily enter their details into a simple form.
Their team wanted to see the submissions in real-time so there was also a need for a web application to show and export the entries.
As a solution, we took their existing design and built a light weight iOS application and Vue.JS based web app to show the results once they had been submitted.

Project with A Rich Life (WordPress)
A Rich Life are an arts and investment blog that were operating off a bespoke application with little content management functionality and a handful of services connected together through some developer magic.
They needed help building a more robust solution that would allow automation of their member onboarding and billing.
We helped them get set up with a newly designed and custom developed WordPress theme, integrated seamlessly with Memberpress; a WordPress membership plugin. The amount of effort they had to put into managing their members, reconciling different reports and cross-checking payment details vanished.
The site has since grow to maturity and boasts a huge variety of content, in addition to hundreds of paying customers.

PointData Website Redesign (WordPress)
There's an old saying "Great design will not sell an inferior product, but it will enable a great product to achieve its maximum potential."
PointData were a victim of having a great product but poor website design. While their site was functional, it didn't represent their brand accurately.
With big partnership and funding conversations on the cards for the future, PointData needed a place they could refer stakeholders to that quickly told their story. It needed to establish them as a company worth dealing with.
This was our driving mission for the redesign and development of the PointData website. We aimed to incorporate a strong colour pallet, a little animation, and a seamless user experience.

NACCHO Website Rebuild (WordPress)
The National Aboriginal Community Controller Health Organisation were stuck. They were spending a small fortune on Hubspot to run their website and couldn't get it to look or act like they expected.
NACCHO approached us asking for help extending their site but we saw that the chaos could be simplified with better technology choices.
Migrating a website that receives thousands of views a month with a lot of visibility is a tricky task. The project finished up in February 2022 and was a very smooth transition. The team are saving thousands of dollars a month (important for a non-profit!) and the site no longer has weird visual or functionality bugs.

Gold Bank Sales System Redesign (Figma)
Gold Bank couldn't make Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce or any off-the-shelf eCommerce platform work for their business.
These platforms are built for the typical online shop that sells products and takes money. Gold Bank's problem is that they also buy a lot of product off customers. They're almost like a trading platform. So they were forced to build a custom eCommerce platform.
Two and a half years down the track, the project hasn't gone as far as they would like. The system looks average and their developer is worked off his feet trying to design and develop the app at the same time.
This is where we entered the picture. Our role was to improve the UI/UX of the app and let the Gold Bank developer get back to writing code.
The project is currently ongoing as we work closely with the Gold Bank owner to nail down the brand he's looking for while including all the functionality required by a trading platform.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am co-owner of a cafe. We needed a website to represent our brand and menu.
For what projects/services did your company hire Clean Commit, and what were your goals?
We opened a new cafe and wanted a website that would showcase our food and our vibe so that we could use it to start spreading our name. We wanted something simple that was easily edited and adjusted as our menu changes, so w even add more photos, events and notices.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We wanted a local company that offered a personalised service so that we could work with someone directly to design and develop the website. We were not sure exactly what we wanted so it was important to be able to get professional guidance and support, and Clean Commit have a great portfolio and reviews that reflect this kind of service.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We reviewed the design in Figma and use Prismic as the website backend. Each technology was introduced to us and explained in detail so that we could be part of the process. We began by discussing our ideas and requirements and were presented with a design which we reviewed and adjusted. Once we were satisfied with the design, the site was created and we were able to try it out before it was made live to public. We could then make additions/adjustments to content ourselves.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We were in direct content with Tim, the company owner/project manager.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We absolutely love the design and felt it really represents us and our cafe. The site is easy to navigate for visitors, and easy to update from our end.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
We had regular meetings with updates through the entire process. Any questions or issues were quickly addressed. We would communicate via email or phone calls.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We felt really well looked after. We didn't exactly know what we wanted and appreciated some extra support in talking through the design, and how to use the technology. They went above and beyond in helping us get the best result.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm head of marketing for a Game Development education company with over a million students online.
For what projects/services did your company hire Clean Commit, and what were your goals?
Clean Commit built our entire Learning Management System and course delivery platform. They worked with us to design the UI and UX, integrate it all with our brand, and they brought up a ton of useful insights along the way. We started with a rough idea of what we wanted, but with their guidance, we really had a fantastic experience building something we really needed.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We had spent over a year looking for vendors that had both design and development experience, and we also looked heavily for someone that could help us figure out the tech stack. We didnt want to spend huge amounts of cash reinventing the wheel when 3rd party systems could do the heavy lifting for a lot of what we wanted. Clean commit helped us through that process and helped us build a headless system that worked with a lot of 3rd parties and APIs to build a super robust system while still keeping the cost down. So they were the ones!
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We built an entire Learning Management System and course delivery platform. Basically we needed students to be able to discover courses, buy courses, and take courses online. And then also talk and hang out with the community afterwards. We used an array of off the shelf APIs and existing platforms to integrate with our main platform...off the top of my head, Next.js, React.js, Laravel, PHP, REST API and a few services like Bunny, Stripe, etc
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
There were 4 or 5 key people in various roles. We primarily worked with our product manager and he worked with the US designer, UI designer, backend developer etc. We did talk with the backend developer a few times related to how we were going to pull off our tech stack.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We did the entire project in 2 week sprints, and every 2 weeks we would discuss the deliverables for each sprint. This was awesome, and the Clean Commit guys always delivered on every sprint. Was helpful too, because we put some of the riskier tech stuff up front, and we could always test out our riskiest assumptions early.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Project management was fantastic. We met with our project manager every week for progress updates, and every 2 weeks we finished and started a new sprint. We would work together on the goals of the next sprint, trying to front load the risk. And the communication when something came up that was unexpected was fantastic. Very timely and very communicative.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I found their honesty and transparency awesome. I've ever liked agencies much, always seemed like pouring money into a black box...but Clean Commit helped us every single step of the way and I really appreciated them as a partner. They were fantastic at what they do, communicative, and made constant progress; what more can you ask for?
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I honestly don't think so. Every time there was a problem they were vocal, they suggested better ways to do things when we were stuck, and they made consistent progress. If someone does good work, they tell you about the good work they're doing, and they do it consistently, I don't know what more you can ask for!! Very happy with everything.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the content strategist at a company where we curate digital packages of eBooks and eCourses to sell online at big discounts.
For what projects/services did your company hire Clean Commit, and what were your goals?
We hired Clean Commit to help fix some issues in our bespoke Laravel system that had been created a few years previously. The developer who had created the system moved on, leaving us with a few critical issues and no one to fix the problem.
The goal was to get the issues fixed as quickly as possible, since they were having an impact on the system doing its job.
How did you select Clean Commit and what were the deciding factors?
We were referred by a friend. Work quality and price were the deciding factors.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The scope of the work was limited to fixing attribution with the custom referral component of our Laravel application. We also needed the entire system to be faster.
No one on the team had any extensive experience with development, so we really focused on getting them to fix the issues our customers had noticed. The project steps were:
- Describe the issues to the Clean Commit project manager (Tim)
- Give them access to our systems
- Test the fixes The technology used was Laravel, Vue and SQL.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Two - most of the communication went through Tim Davidson, the Director. The work was handled by one of their engineers, Wojtek.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Absolutely - they fixed all the issues our customers and team had noticed. We had around 10 fairly significant issues. The fixes took a bit over a week to implement but there was no fall out, and the problems have stayed fixed.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
Since this was a pretty small, quick project there wasn't a lot of project management involved. The updates from the Director were timely and easy to understand. He gathered all the required details to get his team into our systems, and let us know when we could test the fixes.
We didn't have a firm deadline on the project. It took about a month from when we started talking to Clean Commit to when the fixes were completely wrapped up.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
They were very structured and organized. We didn't have to repeat or explain anything in great detail to get them moving. They seemed to understand the issues as soon as we explained them.
They also communicated more clearly than developers we've worked with in the past.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No, they were great. We'd get them back for support any time (and have on a few occasions!).

Web Dev. & Design for Cybersecurity Consulting Firm
“Clean Commit is super reasonable from a cost standpoint, and their team takes care of you.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of business development for a cybersecurity engineering and consulting firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with Clean Commit?
We had a bit of an outdated WordPress site, so we reached out to Clean Commit to spearhead the site redesign and re-platforming.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Clean Commit redesigned our website from the ground up. The main thing that we were looking for was a clean, sleek look. Our previous website had a few sections, each with 5–10 drill-down pages to click through. However, we wanted a more modern feel.
Their team opted for a static page that users could scroll down continuously as they explored the site. To simplify the experience, they also parsed down our number of subsections into a few different pages, using the previous site’s content as a baseline and formatting them as a scrolling page.
The key technologies were HTML5, CSS 3, React.js, Gatsby, and Netlify. We did the content while they took care of the design, development, and implementation.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Tim (Owner & Director) and Wojciech (Full Stack Developer) for the most part.
How did you come to work with Clean Commit?
I had a personal connection who had been in the e-commerce space for the last 10–15 years. They’d worked with a few different web developers and designers, so it was clear that they had done the research to find good developers. At that point, they’d been working with Clean Commit for three years and enjoyed their experience enough to recommend them.
Of course, we weren’t going to decide on their word alone. We looked at a couple of other firms, but Clean Commit was the most attentive and thoughtful during their interview. They really listened to what we were trying to do and were responsive to our comments.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about $6,000–$7,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project lasted from June–November 2020. The project took so long because we had some content that we had to figure out and iterate on our side.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Clean Commit definitely fulfilled and exceeded our expectations. Everyone I’ve talked to from our organization really likes the website—we all think they did a great job, and there are things that we want to continue to expand within our website. The only complaints we’ve received are about things that we need to devote more time to on our end.
How did Clean Commit perform from a project management standpoint?
We didn’t use a centralized project management tool, but they did add us to their Slack so that we could communicate with them directly. Other than that, we primarily interacted via email and had a few meetings. Tim was good about making himself available whenever needed. There was also a shared drive for hosting documents and sending wireframes.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’d say their responsiveness, flexibility, and reasonable attitude were the most impressive. It was a new website design, so we weren’t always sure of what we wanted, which resulted in quite a bit of back-and-forth. There were things that we thought we’d wanted a certain way but would then request to change back or go in a different direction.
Each time that we had to iterate, they would implement those changes and understood our desire to have things look a certain way. They never mentioned how much it would cost to redo something. Instead, it was about working to make sure that our vision lined up with the actual website.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, the only challenge I can think of would be the time zone differences, but that ended up becoming a strong suit of theirs. They’d always make themselves available when we needed them, even on short notice.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Stop considering if you want to work with them or not and pull the trigger. Clean Commit is super reasonable from a cost standpoint, and their team takes care of you.

Web App Development for Team Sport Selection Platform
"For a small team, Clean Commit delivers quality results on complex projects in a timely manner."

The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Director of Selectr P/L, which I founded in August 2019 to develop an application that would automate the selection process for team sports.
For what projects/services did your company hire Clean Commit?
Selectr needed a team to design and develop a web based application with a complex algorithm. An understanding of (or involvement in) team sports was not essential, but proved to be extremely beneficial to the development of Selectr.
What were your goals for this project?
To fill the gap in the market for an application that automates the selection process for team sports.
How did you select this vendor?
I wanted to work on Selectr with local app developers, and I created a shortlist of 5 local companies based on a) the information and work examples on their websites, b) the design and usability of their websites, and c) reviews from their clients. Clean Commit was first on the shortlist because I was drawn to the simplicity of their website design and impressed by their client reviews. They cemented this spot due to the responsiveness of Tim Davidson, whose enthusiasm for the project made my decision an easy one. It also doesn't hurt that Tim understands team sports, being a field hockey player himself.
Describe the project in detail.
I met with Tim for coffee on a few occasions to discuss the idea for the app and the requirements it would need. Clean Commit prepared mock-up wire frames out-of-contract to assist with our funding pitch (which was successful). The project was then divided into development phases and well documented by Clean Commit in the project contract.
Essential functionality was prioritised in order to get the MVP to market within budget - this included logo design, app design and algorithm development and website design and development. We maintained regular communication via weekly face to face meetings (pre-covid) and via Slack. The process has always felt collaborative and (to my immense benefit) Tim provides advice freely on all aspects of the project.
What was the team composition?
Tim Davidson is the project manager and my point of contact for the project. He is supported by a small and efficient team of developers and designers.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
As anticipated, the biggest challenge of the project was working out how to build an algorithm that sorts players into teams based on numerous fixed and changeable conditions.
This alogorithm is the heart of the system, and doinated my dicussions with Tim from Clean Commit. Seeing this algorithm in action was the biggest progress milestone and the most important project outcome so far.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
I am working on Selectr alone, so we did not encounter any issues with workflow that tend to arise when larger teams are involved in a project. Tim and I stayed on top of our tasks with regular communication.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
For a small team, Clean Commit delivers quality results on complex projects in a timely manner. As a newcomer to the IT sector, I am grateful to Tim for the advice and guidance given freely throughout the process - I felt like part of their team rather than a client.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None that I can identify, which could be for two reasons:
a) Clean Commit do not need to improve because they're very good at everything already; or
b) this is my first experience working with app developers so I don't know any better!
That said, I highly recommend Clean Commit, particuarly those who are new to the industry and would benefit from their guidance.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder and CEO of AngelsTeach. It’s an online business where I help people connect with their intuition and empower them to better their lives.
What challenge were you trying to address with Clean Commit?
I initially hired Clean Commit to overhaul my 13-year-old website, updating the technology and implementing my graphic designer’s vision.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Clean Commit implemented a graphically-rich design for my WordPress site, which was an ambitious task. The design was created by my graphic designer who worked closely together with Clean Commit to make everything come to life.
Since then, they’ve done additional tweaks along the way to maintain the site. After using it for a couple of years, we’ve realized that things could be streamlined for our customers, so they handle those changes.
What is the team composition?
Tim (Owner) is my main point of contact at Clean Commit, but I know there are others behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with Clean Commit?
My graphic designer was already connected with Clean Commit, so that’s how I got to know them.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent around $10,000 with them in recent years, though I did work with them before they were branded as Clean Commit.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together some time in the summer of 2017. I still consider the partnership to be ongoing because a website is a living, breathing thing for an online business. Now, if I have something coming up, I ask them to help me.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
One of the reasons why I love working with Tim is because he cares. He’s responsive and honest — if they say they’re going to do something, they’ll often go above and beyond to deliver. I really appreciate that level of integrity.
How did Clean Commit perform from a project management standpoint?
The team is really good. They take care of any loose ends and do what needs to be done. We usually communicate by Slack and sometimes email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It’s that they’re excited to do new things. Recently, I just talked to them about an estimate for my husband’s work, which requires them to use a tool that’s uncharted territory for them. I like that they’re willing to try new things.
Are there any areas they could improve?
The only thing that comes to mind is that they could have written out the timeline and project plan. I’m fine without them, but I think others would like to have that level of documentation. It would help keep everyone more focused and organized.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
For anyone going into a technology project, you have to be clear with what you want because communication is everything. It helps make sure that your vision is going to be executed how you see it in your head.
Other than that, be willing to be flexible with the time difference. Tim is in Australia, and part of his team is in Europe, so meetings will be at odd hours.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Dionysus designs and manages cultural events. We also provide advice and strategies for high-impact organizations to support Canberra’s cultural fabric and the development of a unique cultural identity.
The objective is a more intimate city with expanded cultural horizons. The city is hungry for more artistic initiatives. We know we have run thousands over the last decade.
For what projects/services did your company hire Clean Commit, and what were your goals?
We had an old website and a big dream for a database/website that would form a beautiful archive of our thousands of events and initiatives.
How did you select Clean Commit and what were the deciding factors?
Clean Commit has exceptional knowledge of the best website technology on the market, excellent client relations, very prompt response times, and care for every detail. This led them to create a site that truly reflects us as an innovative and exciting organization with a careful design aesthetic.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We went through an interview and documentation phase, reviewal of that process and then we had to write our new copy while Clean Commit took what we were happy with from our old site. They developed the first stage while we prepared the new copy. They did most of the uploading so the first stage of the site was already looking good.
We wanted a site with hundreds of images and videos, clear archival capacity, and good innovations. Clean Commit used Gatsby, which we didn't know of but now wouldn't use anything else. New additions were easily incorporated by the team and were largely not charged for. I am a pretty demanding client and they took on my requests with calming ease.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We had one person to work with the entire time, and it was a director of Clean Commit, so the process was awesome.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The site load unbelievably quickly, looks awesome, and the backend is a dream.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
They were so quick to respond that I felt bad if I left a message for an hour. They were too good! They picked up all of our requests the first time. Timmy was incredible to work with.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their technical ability mixed with human relations were second to none. And their price was unbeatable.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
None, we're stoked.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder and CEO of A Rich Life, which is an online periodical covering arts, culture, investing and news.
For what projects/services did your company hire Clean Commit?
To build the website with various membership levels.
What were your goals for this project?
Sell subscriptions to the website.
How did you select this vendor?
Came highly recommended.
Describe the project in detail.
The project was to build https://arichlife.com.au/ This involved integrating mailchimp, stripe, memberpress and wordpress, as well as managing data storage and hosting and graphic design.
What was the team composition?
Tim took the lead and was the contact point between me and the team at Cleancommit.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Within one month of building the website we had a sufficiently strong marketing channel to sell subscriptions which easily covered the cost of the project. From here on in additional scale will fall to the bottom line.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was very effective. The only delays were caused by us on our end, since multiple times we were unable to give feedback quickly enough to keep up with the work Clean commit was doing. This ensured that we did not face any delays that we could not solve.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
I am not very good at describing what I want and I was very impressed with how well the project was communicated to the team at Cleancommit. Furthermore, when I asked for certain changes they were achieved rather quickly, even when I provided no solution (just asked for a problem to be fixed).
Are there any areas for improvement?
No, I don't think so. I imagine as demand for Cleancommit grows it may face new challenges, but at this stage I feel very lucky to have such a highly competent team working on my project.
Clean Commit improved the website's lighthouse scores, maintaining the green range. The team collaborated mainly on email, Slack, and Jira, and their time difference was pivotal to the project's arrangement. Beyond their performance, the client was impressed with their unrivaled development prowess.
