A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the president of Anchour, a full-scope branding firm. I oversee operations and business development, among other responsibilities. I'm also a partner.
What challenge were you trying to address with Chasse & Company?
We were accustomed to traditional accounting for our year-end taxes, and we wanted to partner with somebody that could step back and get a greater picture of our overall business needs.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Chasse & Company is our accountant. They take a proactive approach to our operational needs and growth plan.
What is the team composition?
We work with Mike (Director or Business Development, Chasse & Company) and Dan (CPA, Managing Partner, Chasse & Company). We also engage with an executive administrator and a team member who oversees a lot of the day-to-day needs that we have. We’ve experienced a good range of their team, and everybody is easy to work with.
How did you come to work with Chasse & Company?
We were frustrated with our accounting partner and had heard good things about Chasse & Company from other business leaders. We decided to reach out and give them a try.
How much have you invested with them?
My company has spent $26,000–$30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our work together began in September 2017, and it’s ongoing. We have Chasse & Company on an annual retainer.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve grown significantly as a business, and throughout the many periods of growth we’ve experienced, we’ve been able to rely on Chasse & Company for key tax insights. They even provide operational insights from leadership, staffing, and revenue standpoints. Since we meet with them throughout the year, there’s virtually no stress or surprises when it comes to tax season.
In our previous accounting partnership, we did the majority of the work and asked all of the questions. With Chasse & Company, we’re able to invest more of our time and energy in work we do for our clients. We’re poised to continue growing and are confident we’ll be able to because we have a partner like Chasse & Company.
How did Chasse & Company perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re fantastic in this regard. Chasse & Company takes a proactive approach and lets us know what to expect in the future. They meet with us quarterly and schedule meetings ahead of time so that we’re well-prepared and know what we’ll be discussing beforehand.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What makes Chasse & Company unique is their business model. They touch base with their clients periodically throughout the year, whereas most accountants take just two months to gather documents and file taxes. Under the traditional accounting model, clients only contact their accountant or CPA firm when it’s absolutely necessary, and we found this caused extreme stress and frustration.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, there aren’t any that I can think of. They’re far beyond anything that we expected, and we couldn’t be happier with our partnership.
Any advice for potential customers?
Go into the partnership with your guard down, because this is a team that you can trust. The more you open up to them about your personal and professional goals, the more likely those goals will come to fruition because of their value-add.
Their unique business model alleviates tax season stress and allows the branding firm to focus more time on their clients. Internal stakeholders attribute steady growth to Chasse & Company’s guidance and support. Objectives-oriented, proactive, and trustworthy, the team maintains periodic contact.
