Building Brand Equity with Trust and Transparency
Helping a company sharpen their market position after 25 years in business is a challenge that we stepped up for with McGraph Power, a communications firm in Silicon Valley providing communication programs for a variety of businesses in consumer goods, professional organizations, and technology. Adapting to a changing marketing, McGraph Power engaged us to help create a more contemporary presence. Focusing on their web strategy, we worked with senior partners to craft a new voice, tone, and manner.
The new website continues to feature an active blog, producing relevant and contextual content to provide thought leadership and industry commentary. The blog is now more streamlined and visual, allowing for easier reading and higher engagement. Also prominently featured is a comprehensive portfolio providing detailed case studies to provide examples of the quality of work produced, as well as range of clients served.
Creating a conceptual hook for McGraph Power to leverage as a lead generation tool, as well as a way to emphasis expert insight, we recommended transparency and trust in the modern marketplace as a theme. This subject created the foundation for a downloadable ebook, accessed via custom landing page, as well as a subject for presentations.
The result is a highly engaging website and marketing effort that is generating leads while repositioning the company in a more competitive way. We continue to partner with McGraph Power on their marketing, as we help this venerable agency continue to adapt and compete.

Semtech Corporate Website
Strategy, Design and Implementation for Comprehensive Web Program
As a leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal semiconductors and advanced algorithms, Semtech Corporation (SMTC) needed a web strategy and corporate website to reflect their brand and industry leading position. Semtech enables mission critical applications for three of their industry’s fastest growing marketings: Internet of Things (IoT); Data Centers; and Mobility. Their web strategy features prominently in their push for greater brand awareness and higher visitor engagement and we were tasked with building an on-brand, scalable solution, focused on key business goals and that integrates with multiple databases and back-end systems.
Working closely with Semtech’s marketing and IT leads, Bynder Group delivered a complete creative, technical, and functional overhaul of their existing website and platform, including introducing an inbound marketing strategy with marketing automation via Hubspot. Our work included strategy, definition, design, and development for this 2k+ page website.
Challenges
The primary project of redesigning and rebuilding the Semtech corporate website involved several key challenges:
Large Scale Engagement for Publicly Held Company:
Working on such a large project with an enterprise-level company presents unique challenges like back-end integration, key stakeholder buy-in, multiple divisions and individual agendas, and managing many contributors that are both client-side and other parties. We approached this project with a process and methodology including:
- Open and regular communication
- Agile and flexible collaboration with in-house departments and other consulting firms
- Accountability to goals and milestones
- Detailed planning and project management
- Scalability for expansion and internationalization
Content Management and Databases:
To improve on the former website’s software and workflows, we provided:
- Installation and custom-designed Expression Engine for content management and improved administrative workflows
- Analyzed and recommended database configurations and integrations to improve the workflow and reduce duplicitous data and tasks
User Experience and Visual Design:
To achieve an optimal user experience, we provided:
- Interaction design based on current best practices for improved usability and task completion
- Streamlined presentation of content with more efficient language based on SEO strategy
- Responsive design and adaptive design
- Focus on improved branding adherence
Inbound Marketing and Search Engine Optimization (SEO):
To improve website performance aligned to key performance indicators (KPIs), we consulted on initiating an SEO strategy and inbound methodology, including:
- Providing consulting, strategy, and integration services for Hubspot for improved lead generation and customer engagement
- Providing consulting and design services on integrating with Salesforce, including designing several Salesforce community websites as part of the initiative
- Collaborating with SEO specialists and designing the website for high performing search engine optimization

"Bynder Group was instrumental in shaping and building a beautiful brand that we’re very proud of."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO & Founder of Green Bee Life, a video retail network specializing in wellness and CBD products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Bynder Group?
We originally reached out to Bynder Group to design a logo.
What was the scope of their involvement?
While Bydner Group’s original responsibility was to create a logo for our company, throughout our collaboration we began discovering additional branding needs. The team conducted research to help develop our mission and value proposition which we were then able to take to the market. Eventually, we also used that collaboration to create our logo.
The work is ongoing, as they remain a creative resource.
What is the team composition?
Rob (President & Creative Director) was our main point of contact. He provided us with whatever resources we needed along the way, like copywriters.
How did you come to work with Bynder Group?
They were recommended to us by our web services provider.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $25,000–$50,000 so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our collaboration began in June 2016 and is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Bynder Group was instrumental in shaping and building a beautiful brand that we’re very proud of. Our customers respond to it very positively. Further, the team’s ability to provide external resources while maintaining the same collaborative culture was outstanding. As a startup, they helped us transition from being in reactive mode to proactive.
How did Bynder Group perform from a project management standpoint?
Rob is a really collaborative project manager. He brings a great deal of knowledge, and he’s always available and generous with his time. We appreciate his ability to conceptualize our goals and objectives in a digital space.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Bynder Group delivered a really positive team experience with everyone in our organization. They cared for the project as if it was their own, bringing a great deal of expertise and problem-solving ability. They were just a pleasure to work with.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I can’t think of anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It would help if you have a really strong idea of your brand identity, mission statement, and goals and objectives. Also, go over your budget with Bynder Group and see where you’ll get the best bang for your buck. They can help you evaluate your best approach.

Architecting & Frontend Design for Dev Ecosystem Portal
“They give very honest feedback, which translates to a better final product.”

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I work for a company that traditionally makes integrated circuitry for several types of components. Recently, we’ve been working with long-range, wide-area networks. My team runs the developer ecosystem, so we’re tasked with getting our developers the tools they need to get their jobs done easier, faster, and cheaper.
What challenge were you trying to address with Bynder Group?
Our developer portal has been live for about a year. I initially worked with them on the information architecture, the website, and the overall design and flow.
What was the scope of their involvement?
There was no portal when we started working with them— the solution was totally nonexistent. We provided the architecture, infrastructure, and other backend components. They helped us with information architecture. Since then, we loop them in when we come up with a feature we want to add.
They help us visualize how it would fit in with our current information architecture. Their team creates mockups that showcase the changes they’re able to implement to make the feature work. We iterate on those until we’re confident about our choices, and they take them to our tech team who implements. As we work together to continue to improve the system, we often find opportunities in design and navigation.
Our site is built on a CMS called ExpressionEngine, but they typically create using Adobe software systems. Additionally, they consulted us on how to extend chatbot features offered by HubSpot across the entire portal.
What is the team composition?
We work with Rob (Owner & Co-Founder) on the UX side. Otherwise, we’ve interacted with several different individuals about technical issues. When we have technical issues, Rob includes another teammate in our discussions.
How did you come to work with Bynder Group?
When I started working here, the dev portal was one of the first projects that I needed to address. I created a five-year roadmap, which ended up serving as an RFP. After sending that out to past connections, we collected responses. Bynder Group was recommended by a member of our corporate marketing team. Everything they submitted was very compelling, so I chose them over other connections I had.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $60,000–$70,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in November 2018, and our collaboration is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve sent out user surveys for feedback, and their deliverables generally rank very highly for usability and navigation. I count on them for prioritizing the several tasks and projects that we have together in order to meet our deadlines. They’ve never disappointed on that front.
How did Bynder Group perform from a project management standpoint?
We have a regularly scheduled standup meeting cadence. If we have an upcoming meeting, they also send over a quick status report over email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their flexibility is amazing. I can come to them with half-baked ideas, and they’ll work with me to determine whether they’re feasible. In those meetings, they give very honest feedback, which translates to a better final product. I use them as a trusted advisor on design best practices and standards. Even if Rob doesn’t have someone on staff who can answer our questions, he’s been instrumental in locating external resources to examine our web services.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I’d love to see more backend-oriented help from them. That’s not their focus, but it would be great to expand my collaboration with them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Keep an open mind. As long as you have a vision and general direction, they can help you determine the best UX for your company. They have tons of experience in this field, so take their recommendations seriously. That’s worked very well for us.

Branded Website for Biotechnology Company
"He’s a partner who understands what we’re doing from a business perspective and translates it into specific projects."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the COO of Dyve Biosciences. We’re an early-stage clinical and research and development (R&D) company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Bynder Group?
We hired Bynder Group because we had just initiated a capital raise which was much larger than our previous seed of fundraising rounds. Because of this, it was really important that our brand was reflected maturely through a number of channels as we started interacting with sophisticated institutional investors.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We asked them for tactical suggestions concerning the way we represent ourselves on the web to figure out what a strong first step would look like. Along with integrating our social feeds onto the website, they gave it a completely different look, feel, and style. They added admin functionality, allowing us to keep track of what we push out on the site especially since we’re a small company and have to manage our budget tightly.
Our site currently runs on WordPress but we’re hoping to integrate a solution similar to HubSpot. Rob (Principal & Creative Director, Bynder Group) also helps us make sure that we’re targeting the right audience. Right now, this includes investors, institutional funds, and strategic partners, but he is helping us move more towards targeting our local community.
What is the team composition?
Rob is our main point of contact but some of his teammates support us.
How did you come to work with Bynder Group?
Rob and I worked together 20 years ago at a software agency so I followed his career and knew he had his own firm. I recommended other people to partner with him and they had really good experiences. Once I joined my company, I was looking for a partner to solve our immediate issues but also to grow with over time and Rob was a natural choice.
We ultimately chose the Bynder Group because they had experience working with some large pharmaceutical and biotech companies in the area.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with him from May–June 2019. Since then, he’s helped us tweak and refine the website. We recently had a call with him about where we want to take the site in the future.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve seen an uptick in the number of site visits based on our Google Analytics. The website is exactly what we were looking for. It outlines our target audience, it’s easy to navigate, and it looks great. We’ve also received good feedback from people in terms of coming across as a more sophisticated, growing company.
One key objective for us was to make sure that our top three messages–we’re a clinical R&D company, we’re all about science, and we got our reputation based on data–were coming across clearly and they do. A lot of people affirm that that’s the message they’re walking away with after visiting the site.
How did Bynder Group perform from a project management standpoint?
They are very responsive. Even though Rob is a senior-level person, he is still very willing to take on a hands-on approach. There’s an obvious degree of trust between us and them. We’re not a company that needs heavy status reports so we’re able to jump on a call and solve our problems efficiently. We’re a small, scrappy team and Bynder Group tailors their process to our style and expectations.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Rob has worked in a larger agency and he runs his own so he has the mind of a business owner. He knows the challenges that come with running and growing a business.
He’s a partner who understands what we’re doing from a business perspective and translates it into specific projects. We like working with sharp people and Rob is one of them. On top of this, he’s competitive from a pricing perspective.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we’re happy with the work and looking to do more with Rob so we’ve had a good experience.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Rob’s a very direct, honest person, so you should make sure you have a discussion at the start to establish what’s important and how you work. Rob can also be nimble, so make sure you’re letting him do his work and not burdening him with things that aren’t directly contributing to the success of your project.

The client submitted this review online.
Please describe your company and your position there.
CEO of national public relations agency serving consumer, technology and cannabis clients
For what projects/services did your company hire Bynder Group?
We hired Bynder Group to completely re-do our agency website - the project included initial strategic consulting, content consulting, back end development, lead generation consulting/implementation and trouble shooting
What were your goals for this project?
To provide the agency with a fresh, new and edgy look/feel online, provide lead generation support and repackage our content for today's market
How did you select this vendor?
We selected Bynder Group based on a recommendation from a friend who knew them and our own multi-vendor interview process
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Bynder Group provided everything for us on the project - initial strategy consulting, visual options, color pallete, content consulting, lead generation consulting and site architecture
What was the team composition?
We worked directly with Rob Bynder and some members of his site architecture team
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Overall the project was a success. Our new website brought us "in line" with the state of the market in our field, provided us with a current look/feel commensurate with our desired image, generated many compliments from colleagues, partners, existing/new clients and was cited by prospects/new clients as a primary reason that our agency was evaluated/chosen in the new business process. Additionally, it directly impacted lead generation in a positive fashion.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
Because we were fortunate enough to work with Rob Bynder directly, project management was very clean. He provided us with a schedule based on our needs and he was very effective in keeping us on track. The process was managed both via regular team phone meetings and supplemented by online communication via email and Slack.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Most impressive to us was both dealing directly with Rob/receiving senior-level input and the overall strength of his ideas and creativity. He is a direct and clear communicator who was patient with us when need be and not afraid to tell us to "get moving" when we fell behind. Rob meshed very well with our team and it was like he was a member of our organization through the process.
Are there any areas for improvement?
As with any client-agency relationship, tough conversations can sometimes be necessary. While Rob certainly wasn't afraid to be transparent when something required a discussion, my only suggestion would be for him to be even *more* brutally honest when the situation warrants it. Our group thrives on that type of communication and, once Rob realized that, communication and results ramped up quickly. Not every client is like us and we realize that but we were pleased that Rob understood our style and adapted his to align.
The team’s efforts were instrumental in crafting company identity. Bynder Group brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and collaboration to ensure a successful engagement. Customers can expect a fully engaged partner.
