I’m the CEO of a tech startup called Pinpoinx. We are essentially a real estate platform that uses AI and machine learning to match properties with the ideal buyers. Our product deep-dives qualitative and quantitative data from various sources so that our users get customized their search results based on criteria that they’ve identified are important to them.
What challenge were you trying to address with BugendaiTech Pvt Ltd?
We started developing our product at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was difficult to reach out and find — if not a CTO — someone with the technical expertise that I did not have. That is why I reached out to BugendaiTech.
What was the scope of their involvement?
BugendaiTech provided technical services, starting with data analytics. We had a ton of real estate data that we needed to crotchet for our specific purposes. Once we had a good handle on that, their team then progressed into developing an API based on that data and, going a step further, doing full-stack development for our app.

Their data analytics work is exceptional and I think I would’ve been hard-pressed to find another agency with their skillset. Their app development work is very thorough as well and it shows just how much experience they have when it comes to these types of projects.
Despite the pandemic, everyone from the team works hard and remains very good at steering themselves in the right direction. I’m really happy and have no problems with BugendaiTech whatsoever.

The project managers are very smart individuals who were able to learn quickly about the real estate industry. They understand the challenges we’re facing and are able to communicate that to their respective teams. There are a lot of barriers that slow down our project, what with them being overseas, but we’re able to work on everything as efficiently as possible despite the constraints.
We’re in constant communication, whether it be through email or Skype. We have standup meetings multiple times a week where we deep-dive into our objectives and check how we’re staying on track of that.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What sets BugendaiTech from the last agency that I had worked with is that this team is really good at documenting their progress and showing proof that they’ve actually done the work. They’re also able to get our project into GitHub in a common manner, notating their code such that a non-coder such as me could follow.

They were initially a bit hesitant about voicing their challenges to me in a timely manner, and I think it was because they didn’t want us to think that they couldn’t complete the project or a particular task. We’ve been able to fix that though, and with the team being more upfront with any difficulties they encounter, we’re able to resolve issues more quickly.
They could also do better at managing, notating, and informing me of the costs, even though their value is really good.

I found every person I had any interaction with extremely knowledgeable and prompt to respond. Although english was not their first language, they were all very proficient english speakers and easy to converse with.

We were always very happy with the work done and the timeliness of it. We were able to get Salesforce customized to us in quickly so we could use it to our best advantage. We felt the pricing was reasonable and they were quick to resolve any further requests.

We communicated via Zoom everytime. This worked very well for us as we could speak directly to them and screen share. They were always on time for meetings and understanding if we had to change a date or time.

BugendaiTech was hired to provide Salesforce implementation and configuration services for a client of ours. The client was transitioning from Zendesk to Service Cloud. As part of the project, we implemented SF Service Cloud and Experience Cloud modules.

We published the opening on Upwork. We were most interested in vendors that had a presence in the US and price.

We started with requirements and design. We then implemented Service Cloud through an iterative approach. We also launched Experience Cloud replacing the customers' existing client portal. Experience Cloud service template was used but some custom development was needed to support the customer requirements. As part of launching Service Cloud, we migrated all customer data (e.g., tickets, contacts, etc.) from Zendesk into Salesforce.

I was less involved in the interview process but after posting the project to Upwork, we received multiple requests for interviews. After vetting the list of vendors down to a short list, we interviewed the candidates using standard questions. We ultimately landed with BugendaiTech.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was overall good. The team was offshore based in India. Generally speaking, we had a standing meeting at 7:30 am each morning (EST). I'd provide the requirements the evening before and we'd review updates to the implementation. I'd generally need to do testing during the day. Occasionally, we had some quality issues but overall was pleased with the experience particularly for the price.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The team was very responsive and worked quite frequently late to deliver features and functionality.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
As mentioned, at times there were some quality issues but overall very pleased with the experience. Attention to detail could improve a little.
