Introduce your business and what you do there.
I'm self-employed and I'm a member of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA). I'm a four-time, currently-reigning bull-riding champion. Managing my brand has a lot to do with how successful I am outside of the arena.
What challenge were you trying to address with Breaking Records Media?
I hired them to help me with branding and social media marketing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In our initial meeting, we talked about my vision for my brand and they came back to me with a plan for moving closer to achieving that goal. We started out focusing on social media and they worked with me on coming up with taglines and strategies to grow my following. They've also created some marketing materials, like autograph pads and custom-designed t-shirts I sell to fans.
What is the team composition?
I work with Alexis Bloomer, their CEO, and one other staff member who helps with a lot of the social media work.
How did you come to work with Breaking Records Media?
I've known Alexis for quite some time and I've always been impressed by what she does. When she started the company I definitely wanted to give her a chance and see how it would go. I've worked with individual contractors in the past, but none of them had this level of diverse capabilities.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with them in January 2015 and that relationship is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I've seen some big jumps in my social media audience over the past three years. Instagram has had the biggest shift: I went from 17,000 followers to about 86,000. On Facebook, I've moved from around 10,000 to 30,000. The growth has been really good.
How did Breaking Records Media perform from a project management standpoint?
They're accessible via email and by phone, and I've never had a problem getting ahold of them when I need something. When it comes to the actual service, everything gets done well and done on time.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They work hard, and they go above and beyond with their customer service. They're genuinely nice people and the whole team is easy to work with. That's a bonus when you're working with an outside company, and it's not something you might realize just by evaluating them on paper.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be honest about what you want and what you need, because as soon as they understand your goals they'll make a plan to help you achieve them. They have great creative minds, so trust them to do the work.
Over three years of working with them, social media followings have increased significantly. Their team is highly creative, talented, and a pleasure to work with.
