Groupe Conseil Levee, an established presence in the financial securities industry, had outgrown its original brand identity. The company now stood for more than just reliable advice. With expanded goals, capabilities and client portfolios, Levee turned to Brandlucent for a revamped brand strategy. Together, we uncovered Levee’s updated brand elements—client confidence, adaptability and forward planning—and carved out their new brand identity. To create a full brand experience for Levee’s clients, we refined their service lines and focused their messaging. CWB Beverages for Chez Tousignant
A mouth-watering fixture in Montreal’s Little Italy, Chez Tousignant delivers chef-driven fast food with classic Québécois flare. Their suppliers, CWB Beverages, were helping them launch a line of artisan sodas that reflected the heritage styling of the Chez Tousignant brand. Partnering with a talented illustrator, Brandlucent developed a visual brand strategy influenced by pattern, hand-drawn design, art nouveau, clean typography and Wes Anderson colour palettes. The label design, a mix of rustic and refined, vintage and modern, expressed a sense of surprise, joy and anticipation. The centrepiece featured tantalising pencil sketches of each primary ingredient. With a unified visual strategy for their new product line, Chez Tousignant is able to provide an immersive brand experience for patrons.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner and president of a dental products distribution company in Canada.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brandlucent?
We wanted to undergo a rebranding process because we felt our previous brand was limiting our business opportunities. As a result, we engaged Brandlucent to help us with the rebranding process and strategy.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The first phase of our engagement involved the discovery of our current status in the marketplace. After that, we explored our future opportunities and why we felt rebranding was necessary. Our team provided Brandlucent with some of our marketing collateral, and they also looked at our website. However, most of the documentation was somewhat of an interview where they explored who we were and what we wanted to be.
After that, Brandlucent began creating a brand story based on our history. This involved considering where we wanted to go and how we wanted to differentiate ourselves further in the market, helping us create more future opportunities. In the process, Brandlucent helped us create a new identity. That included creating a new name, logo and bringing clarity to our vision, mission, and purpose. They also worked to highlight all of our strengths in a way that was better articulated.
What is the team composition?
We’ve worked primarily with four people from the Brandlucent team — their CEO/brand director, VP of Sales and Marketing, a Brand Strategist, and a Project Manager.
How did you come to work with Brandlucent?
Our VP found Brandlucent through Clutch as part of her research. During our interview process, the team came across as approachable and knowledgeable. We felt like it was going to be a great fit, and we were proven correct on this.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $80,000 CAD (approximately $64,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2021, and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Our team, vendors, and external stakeholders have had an extremely positive reception of Brandlucent’s deliverables. What stands out is the clarity of our new brand story. We’re happy with the name, logo, and brand identity package they’ve given us.
How did Brandlucent perform from a project management standpoint?
Brandlucent’s project management is excellent all the way around. Their communications with us has been top-notch, and their creativity level is extraordinary. They also incorporate our feedback and ideas in a fantastic way. Overall, they’re a remarkable company.
In terms of tools, they use BrandPad to track the progress of the deliverables. To communicate, we use emails and Zoom meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Brandlucent’s ability to connect and understand us as a company is impressive, and the same is true for their creativity and overall approach to the project.

I am the CEO of a web development company headquartered in Montreal. Our company has about 25 employees and we build enterprise grade Ecommerce and CMS and websites to clients all over the world. I oversee all facets of the business.
For what projects/services did your company hire Brandlucent?
We were at a point where we needed to take time to reflect on our business strategy and focus our offer to become more specialized and clear in our messaging and services. We hired Brandlucent to do brand strategy and identity workshops.
What were your goals for this project?
We wanted to reflect on what added value we could give to our clients and how to focus our offer to be in line with what we are passionate about. We also aimed for a clear and consistent messaging as well as spruce up our brand logo to be recognizable.
How did you select this vendor?
We strongly believe in word to mouth experience to select our partners and Brandlucent was suggested by another partner we trust. On top of that, Brandlucent had a great deal of experience in our domain which made it an even easier choice.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We had a series of brand strategy and identity workshops with all the partners at the firm. Brandlucent's process was really well defined and helped us ask the right questions to take educated decisions on what we really wanted to do to evolve our company to the next level. From these workshops a clear plan and roadmap was devised to help us get to where we wanted.
What was the team composition?
We worked closely with the founders of the company who were very knowledgeable about the process and our domain.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Since we completed the project, our messaging and offer has become much clearer and easy to explain to our clients. We are now also much more focused which helps with our company structure and hiring strategies. Everyone, internally and externally, loved our new logo and brand identity as it really captured the way we are and how we like to work. It also solidified our message internally on the direction we wanted to take the company.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
They were very easy to communicate with, always ready to organize their schedule to make it work for all the partners and be dedicated to the tasks. Delivering consistently on the agreed time-frame and budgets.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We were blown away by the knowledge and process that Brandlucent had in our industry. The way they were able to challenge us to reflect on our current state and future objectives and especially how to make the transformation.
Are there any areas for improvement?
We don't have anything else to say than keep up the good work.

Our messaging has grown quite organically. This lead to inconsistencies in terms of our tone, direction and purpose. To help employees and clients spread the brand messaging we needed to get clear on what the messaging is and what the brand represents.
What were your goals for this project?
As the company has grown we are beginning to see new opportunities to expand our offerings to other industries. Our brand, therefore, needed to slightly move away from our current target industry-specific messaging and start looking towards new areas for growth.
How did you select this vendor?
We knew things had to evolve for us but we didn't know where to start. Brandlucent approach us first, they thought we were a good fit for there service and we decided to meet with them. After a one hour conversation, we knew that there offering was exactly aligned with our needs and vision. We took some time to talk to other agencies but none came close in terms of the clear offering and value proposition.

The scope was to help us create 5 books, relating our history, our vision/mission, our brand in detail, an employee guidebook and a plan of action to implement it with our team in house.
What was the team composition?
We worked mostly with Karen. Her team was there to give us support and to create the final version of the book. The communication was excellent throughout the project!
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We are still in the process of implementing the content of the books throughout our marketing campaigns. As for now results we saw was a clear speed increase in our production pipeline, higher quality presentation and a much more aligned vision inhouse.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Excellent. Brandlucent is a high-end marketing provider that's for sure. From a to z they delivered beyond our expectations. Throughout the project, they were super open to feedback and make corrections promptly adding more value as they did.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
How organized and professional was the whole process. Working with marketing agencies can lead to a lot of waste (money, time and effort). With Brandlucent everything was clear from the start and they walk their talk. (the budget was respected, the timeline was respected and the scope was respected)
Are there any areas for improvement?
The one thing that ticked us a bit is that in an ideal world we would of preferred to start the process in french since we find that writing punch line in french is a much harder sport than English. But again, I think Karen kept that in mind throughout the process and the quality is there so we are happy.

We spoke with and evaluated several companies that we thought might be a good fit for what we were looking. It was an easy decision to move forward with Brandlucent.
From their approach, ease to work with and the feeling that they really understood what we wanted to accomplish and stay authentic to our values, we were confident that could help in moving us forward.

A lot of work from Brandlucent went into the finished results. They started in really wanting to understand our business, our vision and mission. We went through a couple of well organized workshops to help us clearly define what that was.
From there we were able to build the overall strategy that helped us, through some more organized working sessions develop our company name, logos, branding guide etc...
The entire process was so well structured and thought out and always felt that we were moving closer to the final result. It made it easy for us to just focus on the individual tasks instead of trying to do everything at once.

I’m the CEO of RIBA Retail. We provide technical services in terms of data integration for the retail industry.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brandlucent?
We needed support building brand identity and strategy.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, Brandlucent delivered a package that identified all of the key elements for our brand strategy including mission and value statements. They framed the wording around who we are, what we do, and what we represent.
Then, Brandlucent formulated our brand identity. Their team created a logo, specified brand colors, and designed all of our graphics. They developed our display for any materials we share publicly.
We eventually expanded their scope into a full redesign of our website. From scratch, they built a static Wordpress site including the layout.
Since then, their team has worked on everything from email campaigns to infographics. Brandlucent provides ongoing site maintenance and produces content, such as blogs.
What is the team composition?
We worked mainly with Karen (CEO, Brandlucent). I’m not sure how many teammates built our website.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $10,000–$50,000 throughout our collaboration.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in December 2015, and continue to do so.

After many years of just winging it, Brandlucent focused messaging around our strengths and abilities— this was a big step. Their team helped our marketing capabilities; we’re now able to explain what we do, and the value our work adds to prospective customers as well as members of the industry. They’ve enabled us to be consistent with all of our brand materials and email campaigns. I don’t have quantitative data.

We’ve had no issues. Their team connects through email and phone calls. Brandlucent has been ahead of deadlines on all the projects they’ve worked on.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of Ayuda Media Systems, a software company that sells a complete suite of applications for out-of-home advertisers.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brandlucent?
We’d arrived at our 15th anniversary and wanted to revamp our brand and website. We needed a partner who could update our market positioning.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We initially just wanted to do a small refresh, but Brandlucent helped us realized that we had a lot of brand components that we needed to update. They helped us change the entire personality of our company, which is something we were excited about. At first, we’d branded our company as a young and rebellious brand, but we’d grown to have over 100 professional clients and realized we needed something that fit our customer base better.
Brandlucent came up with a few ideas and some language we could use to better define the values of our company. From there, they put together a brand guideline, including colors and fonts that would match the new personality. We had them redo the logo, but it wasn’t extensive. They also created business cards, letterhead, digital signage, and other collateral that made us look more professional and gave us a consistent look.

Someone referred them. They asked lots of good questions and understood our technology, so we hired them.

Employees and customers have given positive feedback on the new brand. The employees especially like it because it calls back to our original logo.

They had good project management. They met deliverables and were a straightforward and effective team. They weren’t late on any tasks.

Instead of just choosing colors or fonts based on what we liked, they did their best to base decisions on research and what would make the brand as cohesive as possible.

Our company was challenged to step outside of viewing ourselves and of our clients viewing us as just another IT Services firm. We knew we were more than that, so we embarked on a rebranding exercise with the help of Brandlucent.
What were your goals for this project?
To put into words how we were different than our competition and translate into meaningful language for our current and future clients.
How did you select this vendor?
We evaluated three vendors, who all came highly recommended by our colleagues. We ultimately selected Brandlucent because of their approach and the established framework that they had to walk us through. We felt that this framework was going to be able to move us through the rebranding process in a compressed timeline, yet provide a meaningful result. We weren't disappointed.

Brandlucent first did a workshop with our management team and interviewed our staff to learn about who we were in our own words. Then this information was taken away and within a couple of weeks presented back to us what Brandlucent thought made us tick. It resonated extremely well. We then engaged them further to build out our brand identity, which was also a successful engagement.

We primarily worked with one of Brandlucent's principles, but throughout the engagements we did receive output from other people on her team. It was nice having one key point person to work with because we got consistency on that.

Before the rebranding, we saw ourselves as an IT Services firm and afterwards we realized how much more than that we are. We are a digital innovation company that happens to use technology to achieve business results for our clients. Unfortunately due to timing and COVID-19, we have been unable to launch our new brand and messaging, but we are keen to get it into the public in the near future.

We engaged several similar firms, listened to a couple of pitches, and researched the general offering and investment from the industry. When we found Brandlucent their offering, previous work, and vision for our future brand was the most compelling. It was an easy choice.

The work was very methodical and process driven. It began with a 2 day workshop, and progressed into shorter followup sessions as the branding project progressed. Karen did an amazing job of keeping all the stakeholders on track while also allowing for creativity and flow.

The resulting rebranding was very well received by all BlueSilverShift stakeholders without exception. The brand, vision, core values, and tone resonated with all of the employees as well.
The results of the rebranding initiative exceeded my expectations. We are launching the rebranding publicly soon but I expect that it was be just as well received. All BlueSilverShift stakeholders believe this was a smashing success.

Karen managed the entire engagement perfectly. Engaging in person and remotely was well executed. Brandlucent was very approachable and responsive.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Brandlucent's deep understanding of who we are as a company and as people, and who we are striving to become. That piece is essential when building a brand, and Karen nailed it.
Also, Karen's ability to encourage collaboration, creativity, and input from all stakeholders while keeping the stakeholders and project on task was impressive. Very professional, subtle and effective.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Creating a collaboration and document storage space might have been useful - IE MS Teams or Google Drive etc.
Internal and external stakeholders have given extremely positive feedback to Brandlucent’s work. The new brand story is impressive, and the client is happy with their new brand identity. The team has been excellent in communication, and they have a great ability to understand the firm’s needs.
