I’m the CEO and founder of a company that sells specialized construction materials.
What challenge were you trying to address with BrancoSoft?
We needed someone to help us build a custom e-commerce platform.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their job was supposed to improve on the design I created and develop the actual website from scratch. Unfortunately, they never completed the work. They were supposed to produce a document that would contain the scope of the development, but nothing was delivered.
What is the team composition?
The main people that I worked with were their COO, CEO, project manager, and developer.
How did you come to work with BrancoSoft?
I actually found them on Clutch after reading about their glowing reviews.
How much have you invested with them?
The initial cost of the scope was $15,000 CAD ($11,700 USD), but we only paid a small deposit of $3,000 CAD ($2,300 USD) to get it started.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from July–October 2021. I canceled the project and they haven’t returned my refund or responded to my messages.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
In the beginning, we had a good rapport with the COO and CEO, but they’ve stopped responding to my operating officer and even blocked his number — BrancoSoft wasn’t following up on the project, nor were they getting any work done.
The CEO even threatened to leave hundreds of negative reviews on my startup, which I’ve worked on diligently for years if I left a negative review on their company.
How did BrancoSoft perform from a project management standpoint?
Even at the very first stage of the project, they managed to just lead me on for three months. They replaced the people who were producing negative results for the work with the COO, but nothing came of it and the progress was left the way it was.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I could say that they were really friendly and convincing — they led me on for months and made me wait for them to produce good results.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t speak on their development skills because nothing was ever developed. However, they could improve on their project management skills because they were very unstructured during meetings.
Apart from that, maybe they shouldn’t threaten clients to leave hundreds of negative reviews on their business.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I’m doing this review to let people know of the uncertainties of outsourcing to a foreign country. My advice is to give any outsourced company a small task to accomplish in a limited amount of time, and only hire them once they succeed on that.

We had the project manager heading the team, since he acted as the contact person between our team and theirs and the tech lead was involved as well. A few QA experts helped with the programming and coding operations.

The entire app was redesigned and developed in order to accommodate more creative and catchy content as well as visuals so that user engagement would be high and would successfully retain individual’s attention. Due to the optimization done for the app, there was a boost in the number of leads being converted. The reviews from our users were positive and they enjoyed interacting with our app.

The communication was easy and most of it was either done through emails or through conference calls. The platforms used were Skype and Slack. They handled the project skillfully. Weekly reports were sent by the vendor team regarding the progress of the work, along with vital data that showed us the metrics as well as strategies discussed between our team and theirs.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their team was extremely well versed when it came to sharing ideas for app development. Due to their vast knowledge about the market and the latest trends, they were able to provide us with relevant information and we were able to make informed decisions, with their further inputs about what could positively impact our app and its requirements. Because of how motivated these individuals were, the quality of work was never compromised at any stage.

They are developing android and iOS mobile applications for our business. Because our primary focus was on UI and navigation, they extensively worked on it for the initial weeks. We wanted things to be as simple as possible. There were several iterations and they designed a couple of new versions, and introduced many new UI elements in them.
When the final design was ready, their team developed app features and other modules that were supposed to be added to the app. Lastly, their team coded the app and implemented all the features that we needed. They will be releasing it shortly after it’s fully tested.

Our point of contact was mainly their technical lead. He fulfilled all our requirements and drove the project from its initiation.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
They spent a good amount of time understanding our idea and market. The Tech Lead brilliantly captured our idea and translated into a solution that resonated with our values and purpose of building the app in the first place. The designs were beautiful and the app itself was neatly crafted. Our beta users warmly welcomed the app design and features - they are adequate and easy to use.

We genuinely appreciate their responsiveness and efficient communication. They were very quick when it came to responding to our suggestions and drove the project proactively. It's a multi-stage project that began about two years ago when client acquired another company. He wanted to shut down their website and bring all of their product and company information over to our site. At the same time, we decided to redesign our corporate site which had been built on a homemade CMS. So it was a bit of a mess that Brancosoft needed to untangle and rebuild for Client.

I work with 3–4 people on a regular basis and 6–7 including developers and UX/UI guys.

We got a lot of feedback after Phase 2 that the site and app has improved navigation, is user-friendly, and it’s easier to find products that go together.

They were great because I needed a lot of guidance as I have never done a web and Mobile app before. They were very good at laying out timelines and telling me when they needed the deliverables from our side in order to stay on track. Every time we encountered an issue, they were very upfront and always had a plan on how to make up for it. Mostly communicated via email and phone and used Basecamp project management system to flag any issues. They've basically been my IT support for everything.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Brancosoft team is able to explain things in a way that I understand and can communicate back to my team.

There were times they had to move part of the project from one team member to another because it got more complicated than expected. Some of that was on us for not giving them enough information upfront. They recognized the issue right away and addressed it, so I can't really say anything negative.

They did a great job — the quality of their work was good. Working with them was a pleasure. I’m quite satisfied.
How did BrancoSoft perform from a project management standpoint?
They understood the project well delivered within the timeline. It was clear what they were working on in each sprint. They communicated well, and I was even in touch with the head of BrancoSoft. We used WhatsApp and sometimes held Skype meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were very knowledgeable in their domain. I look forward to working with them again in the future.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They had a technical project manager but they could have an account manager.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They were very supportive and communicative.
BrancoSoft failed to deliver the documentation of the initial scope and delayed the progress of the development as a result. No website was ever produced and the client was particularly frustrated with their lack of response and unstructured approach to project management.
