Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the owner of Moonetic, an app for childcare and daycare businesses.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
As a parent of two kids, I realized the need for easy check-in and check-out services for daycare and childcare services. So, I approached Brainbox Design to help with the design and development.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Brainbox Design is hosting and developing my app using the information and the vision I laid out in our initial design meetings. The app features digital check-in and check-out functionalities. It also has a backend system to organize and manage student information, including medical paperwork and dietary restrictions. There is also the option to create digital attendance sheets and send direct and automated email and text messages to parents.
The Brainbox Design team has also trained me to manage the application so I can guide users through its functions. The app is currently in the testing phase, so I’m receiving feedback from users on features Brainbox Design can add in the next update.
What is the team composition?
I work with three teammates from Brainbox Design, including a designer and two development teammates from Brainbox Design.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
I was referred to Brainbox Design through a friend who’d worked with them before. Then, I approached Brainbox Design with my idea and they set up a meeting to discuss how to move forward.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve invested $60,000 with Brainbox Design.
What is the status of this engagement?
I’ve been working with Brainbox Design since July 2021, and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The app was finished in December 2021, and I’m now receiving feedback from users to improve its functionalities. So far, users are impressed with the app because it is very simple and easy to use. In one month of having the application ready, I have two customers signed up to use it and several meetings lined up with potential customers.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
Brainbox Design is very organized and has always delivered on time to meet key project milestones. Communication with Brainbox Design is good; I am in touch with all three teammates from Brainbox Design throughout the project. Whenever I provide feedback, whether via email or an online management app, it is promptly reflected in the development. The Brainbox Design team is also very accommodating — they take the time to explain technological and developmental terms so I can understand what they’re working on.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Brainbox Design’s expertise stands out to me. As someone with limited technical understanding, it was vital for me to work with a team that took the time to explain their work as if I was a student. Brainbox Design is extremely helpful and willing to explain everything to me in the most basic details.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t think Brainbox Design could improve anything.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I would advise customers to schedule one-on-one meetings with Brainbox Design. That’s how I could have the best outcome possible with my app development.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a provider relations manager with a medical credentialing company. We work with medical doctors and insurance companies to ensure that the doctors can see patients and be properly reimbursed by the insurance carrier.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
We needed someone to update our logo and branding materials and manage some of our marketing. We also needed web development services — we needed our site to be simple to navigate, because our users are medical doctors who don’t have excess time to work through a complicated site.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Brainbox Design designed our new logo and created physical branding items like stationery and business cards. They also updated our website design and helped us create new content for the site.
First, we established a budget, so they would know how much they were working with. Then, they created new logos and sent me examples of how they would look on materials. We were able to make suggestions, changes, and tweaks, and they would come back with an update — we did this same process for the web designs that they developed. Brainbox Designs created 3–4 iterations of these designs before we settled on what we have now.
Moving forward, Brainbox Design is also going to be helping maintain the site.
What is the team composition?
I was only in direct contact with one person. They handled all of the internal communication with their designers and developers.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
My husband found Brainbox Design online and recommended them to me. We went to their website, then had a simple conversation with them. We got a good feeling from that initial talk, so we decided to move forward with them.
How much have you invested with them?
Our budget for this project was $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Brainbox Design in February 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve earned a lot of great feedback from our users about both the website and our business cards. The design is simple and clean, without any unnecessary jargon — my consumers recognize and like the design.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They were always very prompt — they would always respond to my emails within an hour or two. We were always in the loop because Brainbox Media was great about staying transparent. I always knew our status, what needed to be changed, and what didn’t need to be changed. We mostly communicated over the phone and via email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their biggest strength was their transparency. A lot of companies will promise one thing and deliver something else, but Brainbox Design was always very direct and honest about what they were creating. They were also very prompt and on time with everything. Their customer service was exceptional, too — I never had to figure anything out on my own, because they would always give me the answer I needed.
I think that a company’s creativity is very important, and Brainbox Design was really able to help our content stand out. The color coordination that they used in our web design is incredible, and the layout and format are incredibly simple.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I can’t really think of any improvements to pinpoint at the moment. I was very satisfied with what they did.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Go into the project with an idea in mind. I knew that I wanted a site that was simple and easy to navigate, so we didn’t have to have too much back and forth with Brainbox Design.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of CyberDuo. We’re an IT service provider in Los Angeles that specializes in managed IT services and cybersecurity.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
We needed to develop a platform product for our clients and us.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Brainbox Design completed the UX/UI product design for us. We went over wireframes with them. We wanted to build the platform so that our clients can open tickets, send it to us, and our managers and engineers can work on those tickets and get notified.
At the same time, we had a challenge for our marketing team to track all the leads and opportunities. We wanted to combine those two areas together by building one product, which would be simple and optimized for our company.
What is the team composition?
We work with three different people from their team, including one project manager and a couple of technical people.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
We came across Brainbox Design through a referral. They specialize in product design and development.
We interviewed three different companies that we found online. Brainbox Design was able to meet with us. They came here, and we spoke about our challenges, and that’s how we started the hiring process.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent around $75,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked with Brainbox Design from May 2017–July 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We paid attention to design because it had to be simple and require very little training for our team members to make that work.
The only reason we developed our product instead of just adapting other products is that the optimization and simplicity, which were the key parts. We measure success based on those things and how little it takes for our team members to deal with the platform. That was a huge improvement because we used to have other industry-specific products that are too cumbersome for us to use.
Brainbox Design was able to combine the technical and sales modules together in a way that will make sense to technical people as far as creating tickets, escalating tickets, and at the same time, being able to communicate with the sales team and be on the same page when it comes to onboarding.
First, it goes to sales and then they transfer it to onboarding, and from onboarding, it goes to the technical part. They were able to merge all those things together in a way that makes perfect sense to us and for our engineers. As a result, we spend less time on training and on handling all the technical challenges. It’s seamless right now.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
When working with software companies, there are often delays and miscommunication. Since we had a dedicated project manager, they were able to catch all the key aspects and put it together in a way that they can address those things very fast and in a good manner.
They were able to do their work, and we didn’t have any delays or problems working with them. Everything went smoothly, and they were able to deliver within the deadlines.
What did you find most impressive about them?
It sounds simple, but it isn’t simple. Them being able to listen and understand our requirements was the best thing.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They acted as the extension of our team instead of another third-party.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you are someone who is looking for a UX product design or UX/UI, and if you have specific requirements and you need dedication, I think they’re a good company.
They’ve done pretty well with us. We are super happy with them, and I highly recommend them.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a contracting web dev and design company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
We had an offline management system that tracked our customer’s inventory, websites, booking, and related information. Brainbox took over the management of that system in collaboration with our customer.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Apart from the management system, the team also developed a couple of small websites, encompassing online inventory and orders. They created a logo as well.
What is the team composition?
They had a couple of teams working on the project, both in and out of the US.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
Brainbox Design was advertised online. They’re also local to me, so I touched base with them to explain what we needed. We started working together and it snowballed from there.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent roughly $60,000–$80,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from June 2015–December 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The customer we were building the website for was very pleased with the service we provided for them with Brainbox Design. It was quite successful. The quality was high — the product is still working after several years.
As a team, Brainbox Design is very helpful. If a problem ever arises, they’re on top of it. Their stellar customer service extends past working hours: if something needs to be done, they’ll work hard to accommodate.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management was good. All of their deadlines were met. We used mostly emails, phone calls, and short meetings to stay in touch.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Every time we made a change, Brainbox Design was extremely accommodating to the customer’s needs, which was the most important aspect. The quality of their work speaks for itself.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing that I can think of.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
We struggled on our part with scheduling, as far as what needed to be accomplished. I recommend keeping the goal in mind when you approach Brainbox, so they can understand how to deliver the best product.

E-Commerce Dev & Branding Design for Cannabis Delivery Org

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of Green Scorpion Organics. We’re a cannabis delivery company and have been operating for about a year and a half now.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
We needed an internet base because we are delivery-only. Essentially, we needed to be able to show all the products we offer online.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Brainbox Design developed our e-commerce website and designed our logo. Following that, we asked them to do online advertising for us. The platform was a brand-new site, and they did the overall design and development efforts.
When it came to the logo, I didn’t have an existing one yet. They gave me 2–3 samples, and I picked one that I really liked. We actually got two logos from them. Our team started using one logo for things like our wall posters. We put the other one on our products and business cards.
What is the team composition?
We work with one person from Brainbox Design.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
I saw a TV commercial and did a little bit of research on them.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent around $15,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in June 2018 and are working with them on an ongoing basis.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It worked out perfectly, and we received plenty of calls because of their advertising. They’re very professional in all aspects. I only have good things to say about the work they’ve done for us. They have unique ideas. We were blessed that we found and went through them.
Brainbox Design has very good ideas and as soon as I get a license to distribute our product, they’ll do the packaging for us as well. They’ve shown me the packaging they did for other companies and I love their ideas. They have a very good eye for detail. They can see all the details and things that would match together when it comes to colors and other design principles.
I have experience working with other companies for my other businesses. I’ve always thought there were things that could be a little better, but this time it really worked out perfectly. The website was something that I was hoping for my company to have. We got our logo and the help that we wanted for online marketing and everything else.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
With deadlines, there are always going to be things that come up here and there. I added more things or changed things along the way, which is why the deadline changed. If I didn't change anything, they would’ve been on point.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their unique eye is what separates them from others. Brainbox Design does things for my business as if it was theirs. They bring me ideas they’d implement for their own business. I feel that they value their client’s business and money as well as give their ideas unconditionally.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Their team may need more help. I could tell they were really busy and sometimes I’d wait for a phone call back which is always understandable. They don’t have to answer their phone calls on the weekend, but maybe an answering service would benefit them. Essentially, they’d need more people in the office to accommodate more business. That is my idea, but everyone runs their business differently. That is the only change I’d suggest.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If I give their number to anyone, the main thing I tell them is to be very honest about the pricing and what you want. They know the market and are professionals. Brainbox Design knows how much it can cost and you get what you pay for. If I wasn’t honest with them, I probably wouldn’t have gotten the things I was looking for. Be honest when you’re approaching them or going into a meeting. Tell them what your budget is.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CFO of Media World Vision, a media telecommunications company. We provide streaming services, IT support, and have co-location services. People rent spaces in the machine room and we also do service for them.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
We have a lot of end users who needed a customer portal to track their payments, services, etc. We also needed a backend where our customer support staff can input notes or interact with customers.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They did the UI design for the backend and the customer portal. It’s a complicated system and it’s not one small thing.
In the beginning, we had them help with the customer portal where users can access their data. Then we realized we could use them for the backend as well. Step by step, our project grew. We sometimes have small designs we use them for other projects.
What is the team composition?
I was in contact with one person.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
I heard they were good at design. When we met, we told them our needs and they presented what they could do for us. First, we did a 15-day trial where we gave them some material and they did some design for us free of charge. We were happy with the design and decided to make a contract with them on a monthly basis.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent between $60,000-$70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in March 2010 and finished in January 2015.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They work quickly.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They respond right away when we send an email or call them. We didn’t have a set timeline because we were always making changes and adding things to the scope. They did their best to do everything in a very short time period.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were able to quickly understand what our needs were. They were flexible and adaptable to our changes. They can constantly maneuver to our needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I don’t have anything for them to improve.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have a talk with them so they can quickly understand what you want. Then start working with them. They’re open-minded people. Have open communication.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the owner of Chameleon Window Tinting.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
I needed help with branding, web development, and social media marketing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Their primary task was branding. They redesigned our logo, because our previous one was terrible. They delivered branding designs for collateral and marketing materials like envelopes and t-shirts.
They also redesigned my website. It was a complete overhaul, where they integrated new features like a chatbot. They conducted onsite SEO to boost the site’s digital visibility. Additionally, they provided me with social media consulting, because they have a good grasp of what kinds of content are most successful in attracting customers.
What is the team composition?
I worked with just one person from their team.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
I’d known of them for a while and visited their website. They seemed to really know what they’re doing, and because they provide excellent customer service, I decided to go with them.
How much have you invested in them?
I’ve spent somewhere between $15,000 – $20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
I started working with them in the spring of 2019, and I’m still working with them today.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The quality of their work has been excellent, and working with them has been an amazing experience. They have in-depth knowledge of the technologies they work with, and they also have an impressive creative vision. I got the sense that they truly understood my needs.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
I can reach out to them any time, and they promptly take care of any issues that come up. We communicated through email, phone calls, and messenger.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They leveraged sophisticated technologies to meet my needs.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, nothing specific comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
It’s tempting to want to spend less money, but the reality is that it’s difficult to get high-quality work without spending a little. They may not be the cheapest, but you get great quality work for what you’re paying.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the supervisor of Moonlight Boarding Care, and we provide care for elderly and disabled people.
What challenge were you trying to address with Brainbox Design?
Since it’s a new business, we needed someone to develop a website for us and build an internal system, to identify our patient’s demographics, medication, and information.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Before the development phase of our website and software, they presented us with a portfolio of their past work. They used WordPress for the website’s platform, and showed me how to configure the system and input the information myself. What they created is basically a database for our patient’s medical records.
The platform and the system are already done, but they’re still providing us with monthly maintenance and ongoing support — they’re always there whenever we have questions.
How did you come to work with Brainbox Design?
We’ve heard about their company a lot, so we contacted them and started discussing what we wanted.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $27,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing partnership started in May 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We love the website and logo, and the software they developed makes our lives easier.
How did Brainbox Design perform from a project management standpoint?
They perform excellently. We mostly communicate through phone calls, emails, and personal meetings.
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’re very impressed with their professionalism and the fact that they’re really good at what they do. It’s like they can read my mind the way they’re able to anticipate my needs — I haven’t even finished my sentence yet, but they already know what I want.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We haven’t really gone through that obstacle yet, so I don’t have anything to say. I’m a very picky person, but they don’t irritate me, and the service that they bring is worth the money that I pay.
