Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the CEO of a startup based in Mexico City. Our project Kukin, is a meal planning app
For what projects/services did your company hire BluePixel, and what were your goals?
We wanted to offer more tools and functionality than any other platform, for users looking for a new experience of inspiration, organization, personalization, community and connectivity. Our value proposition was designed completely human-centered. Our goal is to empower users of different profiles:
- those looking to plan their meals efficiently
- those looking to increase their reach and have greater visibility of their content
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I interviewed several app developers and chose Bluepixel based on their knowledge of the latest technologies and trends, and their deep understanding of the market. They seemed to know how to understand the demands of my target users and transform that final functionality into a possible technological process and they helped translate my ideas into functions that current technology can offer.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
We had several meetings for planning and research. Their team was able to clarify the idea that I had imagined. They presented the first approach of wireframes and we had a series of rounds for UX design:
- concept tests
- changes
- new design
Then they delivered a navigable prototype and we performed more iterations with user feedback. With a final UX design they started the back end development. The next stage was the integration. We are currently on the deep testing stage.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
The resources fluctuated between 8 and 12 collaborators. I mostly interacted with a project manager and a team of UX designers, back end developers, DBAs, testers.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We have a world-class app that exceeds expectations with more than 24 features and tools that make us unique. Unlike other applications and social networks, we also offer business intelligence that learns from users' preferences and activity and displays content by affinity.
A business intelligence dashboard, offering 36 key performance indicators (KPIs)'s statuses, business insights reporting, and data management. Brands will have access to metrics, statistics from all recipe creators, without having to pay for monitoring or research.
The platform as a whole was conceived and built for scalability using technology that allows big data, streaming:
- Apache Kafka: capable of generating millions of transactions per second
- Cassandra: enables store huge amounts of info in an orderly way
- Elastic Search: indexes and optimizes search in milliseconds (more than 1 tera); Influx DB: deploys time series or time vector for data that will be changing.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The project control has been in accordance with the established roadmap. The communication has exceeded expectations for the team's availability and response both in daily contact and in the weekly sessions for review and progress tracking. I was able to reach out to the project manager and the developers to discuss questions, concerns, and special requests. The deliverables according to milestones have been achieved and accomplished on time.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their UX-UI design, engineering and development skills exceeded my expectations. Their contributions to improving the customer journey and the process flow within the app took the project to another level. Their attitude to take us through the agile methodology allowed clarity in the stages. Each member of the development team possesses programming expertise and industry-specific knowledge. Their ability to determine app requirements and specifications before generating a detailed project plan with the development process clearly laid out and a firm timeline established.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
A single control document with the specifications and minutes of agreements in each session would have been helpful.

I'm the President of Resin Art Flow, a company dedicated to manufacture and sell Epoxy Resins for Artists and Woodworkers
For what projects/services did your company hire BluePixel, and what were your goals?
We started this business in 2020. We hired BluePixel to design our corporate image, product labeling and e-commerce website including all graphics and functionality
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We selected this vendor based on references and after a thorough analysis of their capabilities. The decision was made based on the quality of other projects they had participated, responsiveness and that they are a one-stop-shop from corporate image to turn-key e-store.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Scope of work was cradle to grave. Key deliverables:
1) from corporate image, brand, logos, to stationery, business cards
2) product image and container design (50 units)
3) product marketing materials, photos, brochures
4) e-commerce site, from concept to turn-key and integration to Shopify
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
CEO, 2 design specialists, 2 project managers, 1 site development specialist
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
All the key deliverables surpassed our expectations. Timeliness: all milestones were accomplished as planned E-commerce site: launched on time and achieved top decile visitors of sites launched that same week in Shopify Brand Image: has been lauded by clients and has helped us position in customers' minds. A competitor company redesigned their image to mimic ours.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
One of the things I really liked about BluePixel is that the project management methodology they used was not rigid or limiting, as a client, it was almost transparent since they managed internally in the background and only kept me in check when I was eventually going over their planned schedule. Communication was very agile taking place through zoom meetings, email, google drive and whastapp.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their flexibility and eagerness to meet my expectations. As a new company there were many changes and new requirements that we didn't know about at the beginning, yet they always found a way to incorporate them and keep with the schedule. They have done an amazing job recruiting their team members who all have a fantastic service disposition and high level or professional ethic and standards. I was impressed with how competitive their prices were, especially for the high quality of their outcomes.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Given the great experience I had working with them and the quality of the key deliverables, I can't think of anything that they should improve or change.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Founder/Chairman/CEO of a digital infrastructure company based in Houston, Tx, building a national network.
For what projects/services did your company hire BluePixel?
As we are raising capital and marketing/selling to customers, we need a website that told the story to both, but also maintained a bit of a "stealth" position. I've worked with BluePixel multiple times in the past as the company and it's CEO deliver every single time. This website was no different.
How did you select BluePixel and what were the deciding factors?
We didn't look at any other company other than BluePixel, nor will we for additional design, development and digital graphics projects that are in the pipeline
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We designed and built our own decks for presentation to investors and customers. Using these, we called BluePixel to design, develop and launch our first website, with the requirement to improve the design based on the decks. As usual, BluePixel's team asked a number of design and content questions, reviewed comparative websites we submitted and presented a proposal, timeline, milestones and final launch date.
How many resources from the BluePixel team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We worked with upto 5 different BluePixel team members, though I only worked with it's CEO. My team continues to speak very highly of the BluePixel team and looks forward to the next projects with them.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Simply, we have raised our equity round, received over $100MM in sales pre-commits and have '000 of hits to the site every week. Pinnacle metrics of success!
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
More than effective, it was optimized as BluePixel was always the first to communicate and follow up. The project was completed ahead of schedule
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The team's work ethic, transparency, dedication to excellence, and most of all communication were impressive.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Founder and Design Director of a design studio focused on cryptocurrency design, development, and deployment.
For what projects/services did your company hire BluePixel?
We have been fortunate enough to work with BluePixel for a number of different projects, ranging from design, UI/UX, web design, and development. We have an ongoing relationship with their team and couldn't manage the current volume of clients without their help.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were looking specifically for on-shore companies that have experience within UI/UX and web-related capabilities. We also required people that were easy to work with, friendly, and spoke excellent english so that there is a strong basis for communication. Their hourly rate was attractive but it was their team of exceptional employees that helped us to make the decision to work together.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
We have worked together on a variety of projects but they all have the same cadence of functionality. We start with a project brief where we approach BluePixel and see if they are interested in helping us along with the idea.
They assign available resources to the project and we then move into the kickoff/discovery phase where we break down all of the clients needs, expectations, and the deliverables required. Throughout the project we work together to collaborate and communicate, creating a safe space where feedback is not just suggested, it's welcomed.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We have worked with a total of 10-15 members of the BluePixel team ranging from the CEO all the way through different members of their team.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Each project has different deadlines, requirements, and varying levels of complexity. Together, there has not been anything that we haven't been able to tackle together, but I do know that we wouldn't be able to support nearly as many clients as we are able to with BluePixel helping us.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
So far, everything has been great. Our team is having a great time working with the BluePixel team.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I believe their passion for design and the focus to ship only the highest quality of work is what stands out to me. They're quick, efficient, and communicative, but knowing you have a team of people that really care about the work is something you can't teach a team.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I wish they could double their staff so I could have access to 2x the BluePixel team!

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO and founder of Goodvibe, an e-commerce site.
What challenge were you trying to address with BluePixel?
We needed a good provider to help with UX/UI design — we wanted a one-stop-shop.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had an idea of what we wanted and BluePixel offered consultancy — they also proposed some ideas. They developed all the UX/UI and the technology infrastructure for our e-commerce site.
What is the team composition?
We worked with the CEO and a programmer.
How did you come to work with BluePixel?
They were originally a recommendation. I used to work with them for other vendors and thought they were a great provider.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement for the site ran from August–December 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve only been online for less than a month so we don’t have a lot of public feedback yet. Any comments we’ve received have been good, though. The entire project went very well. We continue to make changes and make it better every day.
How did BluePixel perform from a project management standpoint?
We used Asana, phone calls, and video conferences to communicate.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They had a strong balance and were flexible. They weren’t so strict in an old-school way to manage the work and do things — they had a younger approach.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They could have shown me more companies similar to mine so I could choose the way I prefer things to be.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
I often recommend people work with them.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I was the community manager of a digital magazine. We publish articles about social issues in Mexico, covering sustainability, poverty, social inequality, and more.
What challenges were you trying to address with BluePixel?
We needed to redesign our website to make it more user friendly.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a few meetings to discuss our needs, and they provided suggestions on how to improve our website. We had to organize all of our articles and web content, which was a long process. They provided the design, and we made a few changes along the way.
They provided design and development services because they essentially started from scratch. They used WordPress, but I’m not sure about the other technologies.
The website allows our team to write articles and edit graphics. It’s also easy for readers to search for specific articles and topics.
What is the team composition?
We worked with several people, including Ana (Developer), Ana Claudia (New Business Coordinator), and Jonathan (WordPress Expert).
How did you come to work with BluePixel?
I knew Claudia already, and BluePixel was also the best option for our budget.
How much have you invested in them?
We spent about 200,000 pesos (approximately $10,014 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in July 2020, and the project took about two months. I’d say we wrapped up our engagement in September or October of that year.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We saw a significant improvement in our search ranking and web traffic. We were delighted with them. There were a few misunderstandings initially, but once we explained what we wanted in more detail, they were very accommodating. They provided excellent service.
How did BluePixel perform from a project management standpoint?
Project management was streamlined. We had regular meetings, and the team was proactive. I never had to call on Jonathan or wait for him to complete tasks. We communicated through WhatsApp, email, and phone.
What did you find most impressive about them?
What impressed me the most was the high quality of their work coupled with the affordable price.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I was happy with the process.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Explain your ideas clearly, and allow them to recommend things. The suggestions they gave us were excellent.

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there
I’m the founder of a consulting and digital marketing agency specialized in digital transformation.
What challenges were you trying to address with BluePixel?
We needed to create a platform that would communicate our company’s values and message. As a consulting agency, it’s hard to find a way to transmit our message and services with little information, so we hired them.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We needed to find an agile way to connect with our clients. Because of this, we’ve worked with BluePixel in making our platform agile, memorable, immersive, minimalist, and simple.
What is the team composition?
Throughout the project, about five people from their team have worked with us.
How did you come to work with BluePixel?
I’d worked in technology firms before and during the last few years, I’ve been very present in the startup environment in Mexico. I got to know Blue Pixel via the startup community, they were introduced by colleagues.
I contacted them along with some other agencies, and they were the ones that we chose to work with. Outside of just this project, they also provided us with consulting in another very important project.
How much have you invested in them?
We’ve spent around $550,000 MXN (approximately $25,900 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2019 and continue our collaboration as business partners.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Their processes and ability to turn an abstract idea into a real project very quickly are outstanding. The project has taken about 3 months in total, which is really record time.
How did BluePixel perform from a project management standpoint?
They have documented processes for scheduling and follow up that allows them to have quick but effective meetings and execute the project smoothly and quickly. That was great.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their focus on UX/UI and deep skills there are most impressive. They are a great team for the development process.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I couldn’t say anything at the moment, except that their prices could be lower.

Please describe your company and your position there.
The company is called Petaholics, it is a Social Network for pets. The idea is to unite all animal lovers all over the world in one fun and efficient app. You can find different sections here such as Where to go, Lost and Found, Adopt and Besties. I am the creator and CEO of this company.
For what projects/services did your company hire BluePixel?
We decided to hire them so they could re design the app with a more UX/UI stile and to develop the app for Android and iOS.
What were your goals for this project?
To create a ver complicated but easy use app. To be able to put sponsored posts. To let people upload as many animals they wanted, as many different animals and breeds that exist. To create a range radius based on geolocation at the time for adoptions, lost or found animals, sponsored posts and where to go subsections. A way to upload pictures with filters and give them likes. Edit profiles and add new pets.
How did you select this vendor?
A friend of mine recommended this vendor because my friend is a familiar.
Describe the project in detail.
I had the idea and I had already started it with another vendor, he bailed on me so I searched for a new one and found them. We had a meeting and I explained all the issues I had with the last vendor and all I wanted my app to do. We had several meetings to explain the most important parts of the app and how I wanted them, they showed me the designs. Then we had video meetings to talk about progress and delays. Then they started with the development of the app and sent me testing versions of it. After some changes and some delays they had it done.
What was the team composition?
Initially my project manager was the owner vendor, but she went on her honeymoon and I was re directed to a new project manager, and then she came back and took again the managing. I had conversations also with the developer of the app that was in Argentina.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Within 6 months after the release of the app it has had 2 crashes, not important ones. No complains from the users.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
At the beginning we had a lot of communication but suddenly it became less efficient. We had to talk constantly about the lack of communications and the lack of response I had with them. They changed some designs that were important in the legal area and that were created specially for this app so we had another talk about that and they had to put them back. So the workflow was not great.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The most impressive thing is that they have very few employers and they do a lot of work.
Are there any areas for improvement?
I would say they should improve communication with the client. To keep him informed about what is happening with the project, the issues that are arising, the changes they want to make and why. Also I think that they should talk more clearly about what they need the client to do, or review so they can work with that. They should be really specific because not all the clients know all the terms or know about UX/UI, app development and all that stuff that sometimes you can think the other person already knows. They should be really clear about times and if something happens that make a delay, talk about it. In conclusion I would say communication.
BluePixel exceeded the client's expectations with 24 features and tools that made the client more distinguishable. The team created a scalable platform that allows big data. Throughout the engagement, they were highly responsible, timely, and highly knowledgeable of their work.
