Explainer video for Touch-type Read and Spell
The TTRS team approached us to create an explainer video for their online program aimed to help people learn from anywhere, strengthen spelling skills, enhance reading fluency, and build their confidence. The target audience for this online program is mature learners of all ages and backgrounds.
Meredith Cicerchia, Marketing Manager at TTRS said, "We were really excited to work with Blue Carrot again as the team previously produced a very successful animation video for us, which was shared by the British Dyslexia Association. We knew Blue Carrot would be able to guide us and help create the right look and story arc. We're so pleased with how the video came out and have had a very positive response to it! It's helping us reach a new user group of adults who struggle with reading and writing—thus the video medium is the perfect message form."
We're excited to share that this video also gained art recognition on Behance:

Explainer Video for Social Platform
We received a request from the Punahou school for a general introduction and safety video for a new software platform that they developed called Global Aloha.
Goal: Punahou’s goal was to combine their general introduction and preventative safety training into one video. Their main message was: “Be safe. Have fun. Make a difference in the world. Connect with like-minded people on common projects.”
“We love this so much! It’s perfect. Thank you so much. It’s so good! Your team created the exact vibe that we’re looking for, and that we feel is authentic to Hawai’i. We’re so excited with the outcome and want to say MAHALO for your hard work and talent”.

Corporate Explainer Video for Takeda
Takeda’s corporate video was aimed to feature the main goals and mission of the Nordic Innovation Hub (NIH) to its employees.
We did this by creating an inspirational 78-second animated video in a trendy style reflective of Takeda’s brand. The video was presented at a corporate event and supported the presentation of NIH.
In terms of art recognition, this video received “Featured” status on Behance.
“For our gathering in August, we wanted to have an explainer video that effectively communicated the reason and benefits of this new Nordic Innovation Hub. The Blue Carrot team has been fantastic in trying their best to accommodate our requests and tight deadlines. A special thanks Svitlana for all the support and putting in 100% to make this video great. We are very pleased with the results!”

3D Illustrations for Autronica
Goal: Autronica, a worldwide leader in fire and gas safety, asked us to develop 3D illustrations for their new website.
Result: We designed 3D models from scratch, placed Autronica’s product into the illustrations, and developed a number of supplementary 3D models. Through these illustrations, you get a real-life view of how cruise ships, hotels, hospitals, wind farms, and more use Autronica’s safety devices. This project was completed through Graqhiq intermediary platform.
"We are very pleased with your work and look forward to expanding our portfolio of 3D models and applications next year. :)"

Explainer Video for ProQuest Platform
ProQuest Dissertations & Theses (PQDT) Global is a collection of over five million citations and nearly three million full-text titles. Beyond an aggregated collection, PQDT is a connected network of research. In the newly envisioned PQDT, embedded tools support the user as a researcher and learner, going beyond the delivery of content, and providing the connections needed to make the content they discover actionable.
Goals: Explain and visualize how the PQDT collection functions and brings research together while connecting to what’s occurring around the world. The video should illustrate the value of submitting content and being included in the scholarly ecosystem, as well as understanding the value of doing research within the vast and comprehensive database. The target audience for this video is university librarians, deans, and faculty.

Explainer Video for DNB
DNB has been working towards digitizing its credit analysis and requested an easy and simple way to communicate this effort both internally and externally. They wanted to convey how it has traditionally been, what they've done, and all the improvements they’ve made.
Our solution was to produce a 57-second video with a neat, minimalistic design to clearly communicate their message.
The video resulted in effectively notifying employees and clients about the new digitization of their credit analysis. The feedback received from DNB was that their internal channels and sales representatives had a very positive response to the video.
"Very nice working with you - it has been a journey. DNB has got a very positive response from their internal channels and sales representatives".

Animated Promotional Video for DreamCo
The US-based DreamCo Design creative marketing and web studio approached Blue Carrot to produce an original video. The idea was to stand out with an extraordinary animation concept, use it to share corporate values among potential customers, and strengthen DreamCo Design’s branding as a whole.
Our creative producer, scriptwriter, storyboard illustrator, visual artist, motion designer, color editor, sound designer, and voiceover artist all worked on this video.
“As a rule, it takes no more than 6 weeks to create an animated promo video production of this length and genre. But in this case, we’re talking about time-consuming classic animation where there is no other option than to create frames one-by-one.”
Results: DreamCo Design reported growth in conversions soon after adding the video to their main page header.
“The team at Blue Carrot met expectations, fulfilling the client’s vision. Their talented team is creative, collaborative, and communicative. Clients who remain transparent will have a successful partnership with their team.”

Explainer Video for Punahou Connect
The main goals of the Punahou Connect video are to explain the online platform to the alumni and encourage them to sign up.
Instead of creating a boring and traditional tutorial, we wanted to tap into people’s emotions by presenting Punahou Connect as a reminder of the alumni’s nostalgic student memories.
To bring alumni down memory lane, the video features traditional Hawaiian symbols like aloha shirts, Hawaiian music, and malasada (sweet fried doughnuts that are very popular in Hawaii). The visual style is in the Punahou School colors of yellow and blue colors.
“It is perfect! Thank you!!! It was a pleasure working with the Blue Carrot team” Erin Kinney, – Punahou School

E-Learning Video Series For IRI
Goal: Create educational video content on the development of a democratic society for IRI. As the goal was to educate viewers, we had to design content engaging enough to keep people watching for the full length of the videos. Since these videos were political with intersecting visuals, it was a challenge to find the best images that clearly and vividly explained the meaning to the viewer so he or she would understand and remember it.
Solution: We produced 50+ minutes of original video content.
Results: The IRI video course was launched on time and received positive feedback from education experts and students. Anotherimportant aspect for us was the fact that our client was satisfied. IRI left us with smiles on their faces and positive emotions in their hearts.
"The guys were always creative and client-oriented, but that doesn’t mean that they always agreed with us to the detriment of the product. Even when we were tired and were ready to finally finish it, Blue Carrot had enough strength and inspiration to improve their work.”

Explainer Video for Blundermail
They say history repeats itself, and we’re here to say…it doesn’t have to. With Blundermail you never have to worry about accidentally sending an email to the wrong person. Blundermail makes it quick and easy to confirm you’re sending your potentially not work-related or semi-unprofessional email to the right person (or people).
We created a comical clip for this essential and job-saving (okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic) Outlook plugin.
We’ve all sent a message to the wrong person by accident, and Blundermail will make sure we never relive a moment like that again.

Goal: Explain Parallelo, a software that uses artificial intelligence to help architects, on behalf of builders, identify the most area-efficient solutions in the development of new and large housing projects.

Kinetic Typography Video for Owlin
The Owlin platform generates your daily news and market information. Rather than sorting through the thousands of articles on various new sites, Owlin uses actionable intelligence to do that for you.
The Owlin platform leverages early warning signals to help risk management and investment departments identify threats, detect new entities and personas within the risk domain, uncover unknowns, and capture potential investment opportunities in real time.

Product Launch Video for GIN
Launching a new product is a challenge. Hundreds of product launch and introduction videos are posted on social platforms daily. You need to find ways to make your video stand out and get the audience to invest more time watching your videos instead of the others.
Goal: Support a new product launch with a marketing video while raising brand awareness and the potential client’s curiosity.
To set our videos apart from the rest, we focus on storytelling. We embed products and ideas into stories that people want to share. We generate excitement about the products we promote. You can do this by making it funny, using specially composed music, personalizing the introduction, or showing the soul of an operation. Viewers want to understand the whys and the whats of the product and company. To make our message virally valuable, the product must be so integral to the narrative that people can’t tell the story without it.
Solution: We produced a minute-long animation with a captive storyline that utilizes light new product integration. The idea behind this solution was to motivate people to share facts from the video and the video itself. We composed music and opted for a cartoon style animation to make this video soulful and entertaining.
Results: Posted on Facebook alone, the video received almost 10K views in three days, which is a hundred times more than their Saint Patrick’s Day post received over a three month period.
“Overall, the final result was a creative, playful, and communication-effective animation that fulfilled most of our expectations. We would be happy to work with your studio again or to suggest it to interested parties. On behalf of By the Dutch team, thank you for the incredible work!”

Fintech App Explainer Video
In 2018, Norwegian fintech company Auka, which has since rebranded to Settle, approached our team. The company specializes in creating white-label finance management apps for banks and financial institutions in Europe. The Auka team wanted to leverage their marketing efforts with comprehensive explainer animation. Their goal was to promote their white-label app for online money transfers designed to become a part of the client’s banking ecosystem.
At Blue Carrot, we provide full-cycle video production that meets clients' marketing goals. To achieve advanced results, we carefully study our clients’ business, products, and communication tasks. By opting for video production, e-banking companies can easily find common ground with their potential customers and make them pass through the sales funnel stages faster.
The video production team included our creative producer, scriptwriter, visual artists, motion designer, sound designer, and voiceover artist. It took our team 185 hours (around six weeks) to take Auka’s idea and create a ready-to-use video.
The Auka (Settle) sales team started using the explainer video and saw higher conversion rates and shorter new client acquisition times.
"It’s generally very positive response. You did it just right! Great work, team!"

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm in charge of operations, and I also facilitated the role of producer.
For what projects/services did your company hire Blue Carrot, and what were your goals?
The goal was to produce illustrations and animations that added some visual variety to what otherwise was a documentary-style, talking head project. Creating drawings of our profilees interacting with their physios enhances and reinforces the personal connection they have with one another. The simple line style against backgrounds hand-picked for each profilee, also added a visual cohesion and made everything feel aligned and intentional.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We had worked with Blue Carrot before and the style of this project mimicked a project with a similar style from the past.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We kicked off the project once a brief and workback schedule was created. Then, once we had approval on the shot list we started production on the v1 of the designs. We then went back and forth with the client and BC nailing down the correct representations for v2s of the designs. Then production on animation began and delivery of the main assets along with all secondary assets was delivered by Blue Carrot.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
I worked with Luida, BC's PM, who I had the pleasure of working with in the past as well. In terms of communications, correspondences were done via email, and all feedback was implemented without the use of clarifying calls. Deliverables were provided on time, via Google Drive.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The vision of the project was mostly realized and the client was overjoyed with the outcome. We swung for the fences and didn't get everything I wanted to happen done, but that can be said for any project. In the end, BC worked with tight, last-minute turnarounds on designs and had all animations on time everything looked great, and that's all that matters.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Everything was delivered via email and all assets were organized and labelled properly.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their hustle to get everything done. Their ability to understand and implement feedback without any hand-holding was impressive.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The experience was overwhelmingly positive, but if I could offer anything constructive to help customer experience it would be perhaps to send an email receipt that the changes were received and an estimate on completion. However, I understand that it adds more communication and sometimes when you're moving fast on delivering a project you don't always have time.

I'm the marketing communications director for a company that develops software solutions for delivering video over any kind of platform.
For what projects/services did your company hire Blue Carrot, and what were your goals?
We wanted to create a video to present our company in an inspiring way, focusing on the why as well as the what and the how.
How did you select Blue Carrot and what were the deciding factors?
We worked with them already in the past and know that they deliver high-quality work at affordable prices. But above all, we had a tight deadline and I know I can trust them to deliver on time, even when the deadline is very short!
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail, including the project steps and all stages of production.
We had already written the script. We started with a meeting where they helped us decide on the format (a mix of real footage and graphic elements). They then proposed footage and graphic design and we refined the choice together. In the end, they delivered a 1 1/2 minute video to position ATEME. They handled the voiceover and were flexible enough to accommodate when we changed our requirement to 4K video.
Who did you work with and what was the feedback process like?
We worked with a project manager, who defined the milestones and kept us on schedule. We exchanged comments on their ideas through a shared document, as well as email and quick meetings when necessary.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the founder and CEO of Imperiad Entertainment. For this particular project, I'm serving as writer/director/producer.
For what projects/services did your company hire Blue Carrot?
I hired Blue Carrot to storyboard and animate three flashback sequences for a feature film.
What were your goals for this project?
The primary goal of the project was to create aesthetically pleasing and emotionally-powerful animated sequences. Each sequence constitutes a key flashback.
How did you select Blue Carrot?
I conducted a thorough internet search for qualified companies.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
I supplied the script, concept art and voice over tracks. Blue Carrot took it from there, generating storyboards, key frames and test animations before finalizing each sequence.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
I was provided a single-point of contact, making it easy to manage the process. At each stage of video development, I was invited to provide feedback. Typically, we went through two to three rounds of feedback and revisions before advancing the project to the next stage. I found the team at Blue Carrot very open and responsive to my comments, even when I asked for different or unusual artistic treatments of the material.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We're still in pre-production on the larger film but those involved in the production who have seen the finished videos have been duly impressed with the artistry involved.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow has been seamless. Any delays in the production were on my part rather than theirs. The project manager at Blue Carrot has demonstrated a sincere interest in making sure the final results met my expectations. She's a great communicator and is always clear with her deliverable dates.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The project manager took an interest in the film beyond the work Blue Carrot is doing. She even provided useful feedback on 3D renders created by another firm. And the final product is beautiful--it has a powerful aesthetic all its own.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Beyond some minor misinterpretations of my feedback or instructions, no, nothing of substance.

We needed a short explainer video to support a rebrand/repositioning release. We are interested in a concept called Category Design and we wanted the video to explain why our new category was necessary and needed to exist.
What were your goals for this project?
We had very tight deadlines of 2 weeks. We wanted it on time and to clearly articulate the core message about Experience Communication Management.
How did you select Blue Carrot?
We knew of them because some of our staff used to share an office with them. We got in touch and they reacted very quickly to our needs and clearly had all of the skills so we went with them. Easy decision.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The video was a 2D explainer video. We used a 5 step process to go from scripting through to reviewing the output with quick reviews as we went through each of those steps and rapid iterations where changes were needed.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
They had a 5 step process run to a single person who was very responsive, even on the weekend as we approached the deadline.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We think the project was a huge success and the video received positive feedback from our wider community.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Very effective. We completed the whole project in 2 weeks.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
They know what is required to make a good video and could move quickly under a tight deadline.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Their invoice was difficult to pay due to the way bank details were displayed but we have given them feedback about that already.

Animation for Web and App Development Company
"Blue Carrot was a pleasure to collaborate with."

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a web and app development firm.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blue Carrot?
We wanted to have an animation video made using hand-drawn artwork. We wanted it to be more high-quality than typical explainer videos and have a fluid appearance.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We requested that Blue Carrot put together the project for us, using a script and the voiceover talent we provided. The team helped with storyboarding and character artwork, assisted with animatic previews that outlined the video and handled project management from beginning to end.
The team went through revision phases and discovery process on colors, styles, and shapes. Throughout the project, they provided references of other materials and updates.
They put together an initial draft of the video, which we made a couple of revisions to. They also added special effects and background music to the video. In the end, they provided us with numerous copies of the video that had an intro and exit. They also gave us a shorter cut without the intro and outro.
What is the team composition?
All of our communication was with a project manager. Initially, we started the engagement with a consultant, but then from there, it was only the project manager. They also had their design team involved.
How did you come to work with Blue Carrot?
I did a good amount of research online for different animation companies. We looked at different video boards, Vimeo, Behance, and Upwork. I ended up reaching out to 10 different companies, and I felt that Blue Carrot had the best technical grasp of the project.
They also seemed to have the ability to meet our budget. But at the end of the day, it was the communication that showed that their team could accommodate our needs and deliver on what we were after.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent between $10,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from May–September 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Blue Carrot was a pleasure to collaborate with. Their team did a good job with the most important aspect – getting it done. I had to make sure that our goals and visions were there, and their team could fulfill them. Our interaction with them certainly helped make the project successful.
How did Blue Carrot perform from a project management standpoint?
From a project management standpoint, they were excellent. Blue Carrot provided communication regularly. If they were running a few days behind where they thought they might be, they would proactively reach out and let us know.
Outside of the initial kickoff call, everything was handled through email.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their internal collaboration worked very well. Their design talent matched our style. Before we started, they were able to demonstrate that to us. They operate the way you expect a small business to operate, and they communicate well as a team.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not really. They did a great job with everything. There were small instances where QA could’ve been stronger, but that was very small.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear about your requirements early on. Deliver all of the information in an organized manner. That will help make it a successful project.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Currently, I’m the VP of digital media at a learning experience design company. We help institutions like universities or companies design and develop their online learning products.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blue Carrot?
I brought them on to scale our operations and do motion graphics work at a previous company, though I’m utilizing their services again in my current organization.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They provide motion graphics services and animation for lecture videos. We provided them with our storyboards and engaged in an iterative process. Two to three rounds of review usually suffice, but they’re willing to go over that amount to ensure their client is happy.
What is the team composition?
I personally work with Kim and Alex but, throughout the project, they’ve provided one or two project managers that we normally communicate with.
How did you come to work with Blue Carrot?
I found them on Upwork. Based on their website, I knew what they were doing. Additionally, it was clear in my meeting with them that they understood how best to execute this project and meet our needs, which is usually an issue of scale and timeframe.
How much have you invested with them?
I’ve spent over $100,000 with them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve worked together since October 2018, spanning both companies I’ve worked for.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The videos they’ve worked on have been big hits. We were making them for one of our clients, who ended up rehiring us. We still work for them today, which speaks well of Blue Carrot’s products.
How did Blue Carrot perform from a project management standpoint?
The project managers on my end will interact with the managers on their end. From what I’ve observed their resources are responsive, detail-oriented, and very thorough. I flew out to meet them in Ukraine once but we usually meet remotely.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re flexible, versatile, and able to scale to meet our needs. I’m different from most clients in that I’m not looking for specific, one-off solutions. I’ve been able to develop a symbiotic relationship with them as they grow alongside my companies.
Additionally, they have a great eye for design. We don’t usually need high-end design in this kind of educational media but we still want it to be sophisticated and Blue Carrot delivers the extra layer of polish we need. They manage it on a small budget too.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Nothing comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Listen to some of their ideas. A lot of clients go in thinking they know what they want but, in reality, they don’t. Listen to Blue Carrot’s expertise.
