Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of The Do More Company, an energy product line.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blitz Marketing?
We needed help with marketing a new product in a new category. It’s not a product that’s widely available, and we needed to make potential customers aware that we, and it, exist. This would make sure that customers had enough of a touchpoint with our brand to hopefully become a customer in the future.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I provided Blitz Marketing with some insight about what I was looking for and how far I wanted the brand to go, and, after an initial conversation around two-and-a-half hours long, they sent me a marketing proposal that they thought we would be best moving forward with. Moving forward, they came in-house for a week or two and brainstormed even more with my team.
Blitz Marketing really helps on the marketing end, from social media and influencers to retail marketing and graphic design. Their offerings take an ala carte approach, if you will, so we choose to mostly work on Instagram for social media, though they provide a bit of advertising and content on Facebook as well.
A huge part of our project is influencer marketing, comprised of giveaways, social feed posts, social stories, partnerships, and content. They send us everything from samples to care packages for us to disseminate to help get influencer’s attention. Additionally, they follow up with influencers to actually bring them on board and make sure they execute on some of the things that we want them to execute. Blitz Marketing also handles the legal and scheduling logistics that come with onboarding influencers.
Aside from marketing, they built our website from scratch, starting with establishing wireframes, the proper typography to create the feel we’re going for, and the color palates and tone for the company and the brand. I told them some of the things we were capable of doing from a logistics standpoint, and they told me what they thought was the best design and layout for us would be based on those abilities.
Feature-wise, there’s an intricate texting platform where consumers are able to text us to set orders, change their address, and change or cancel a subscription, rather than having to email or call us
They mostly do tertiary tasks for the website now. We don’t classify this is a project itself, but this support is definitely necessary for us to operate on a daily basis. For example, they may be responsible for imagery for an Amazon post or for listing imagery for something else for retail.
What is the team composition?
Originally, they were six members. Now, I mainly work with the founder, but I’ve had one-on-one contact with everyone on their team.
How did you come to work with Blitz Marketing?
I found them through one of our investors. They put in a good word, but it wasn’t anything forceful where we had to work with them.
I really liked the lack of salesmanship Blitz Marketing had. The ideas they mentioned were very aligned with our thinking. They have a good reputation for what they’re doing for us, and we get along very well.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $100,000–$150,000 with them so far.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since August 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Blitz Marketing has continuously grown our website from a sales point of view, with our total increasing by about 50% month over month. The website also helps us better take care of customers, so retention has skyrocketed by around 20% since we started working with them.
We didn’t work with any influencers before Blitz Marketing, so all our accomplishments in that field are because of them. Additionally, they’ve earned us 2,000–3,000 followers on social media by creating content and hosting giveaways.
How did Blitz Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
Their project management is fabulous. Blitz Marketing is very communicative and responsive, and I find them easy to get in touch with — I usually text them. I never feel under-communicated with. Whenever there is something specific, the founder forwards me to the right person and I hash the details out with them. Usually, if there is a delay on something, I’m notified.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Some marketing firms will hit you hard and then won’t deliver, but Blitz Marketing goes all-in on every little detail. They’ve never tried to sell me on anything. I always feel that they’re looking out for me and the brand itself. They’re idealists and perfectionists, always meeting timelines. I’m getting double the value that any other marketing agency would give me. Blitz Marketing Hustles. They will even give me their opinions about whether or not I’m working with them. I really appreciate that.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They’re a growing marketing agency, and it would be great if they could grow a little faster to hire more employees and offer more services. Their services are ala carte, but everyone needs to focus on 2–3 or maybe 4–5 things that they really home-in on. Blitz Marketing definitely knows what their 4–5 things are. It would be good to get people who have more experience in other areas as they continue to grow.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You can trust their team to do their best with the budget you give them. Ask for help, as well, as Blitz Marketing can go above and beyond on some of the things you require them to do.
