Web Dev & Design for Entrepreneurial Marketplace
"They’ve facilitated constant forward progress, and there has never been a moment that we were stuck with something."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of Treppr, an entrepreneurial marketplace where sellers can list business blueprints, and buyers can purchase those blueprints to start their own business.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blank Space Digital?
I needed help bringing my idea to life.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, I spoke with Saif (CEO) and explained my idea. He and his team created the user interface and backend connectivity for the platform. They also built the site’s design and functionalities. In addition, they created a landing page for the site.
Our website is a two-sided marketplace, and it’s more complicated than an off-the-shelf site. Blank Space used AWS, AutoPilot, Twilio, Inspectlet, and other technologies during development. The platform has profiles for buyers and sellers and a payout system. We didn’t require anything specific about the site’s design other than being simplistic and easy to navigate.
Blank Space helped us develop the platform’s user journey. It starts with a seller having an idea; the seller will then put all the information on the site; the seller will list their business blueprint; lastly, an aspiring entrepreneur will buy their idea.
Additionally, Blank Space supported me in developing a strategic plan for the site’s pre-launch. They are also helping me with ongoing development and updates. They also helped us create content for our marketing campaigns.
What is the team composition?
Saif is my main point of contact. I also work with a marketing teammate, a backend developer, and one other resource.
How did you come to work with Blank Space Digital?
I found them through Clutch. Since we’re a bootstrap startup, I looked for a smaller company that could provide a more personal touch.
My conversations with Saif were very personal. He offered suggestions, and I felt he was really interested in my idea. He was also transparent in what it would take to bring the project to life. My discussions with him were unlike the ones I had with the larger agencies.
Our dynamic had been evident from the beginning, and I didn’t have that with the other vendors I spoke with, so I hired Blank Space.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $70,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in October 2020, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The platform is only on the pre-launch stage, but under 100 people have already signed up. We’ve gained initial interest, and once we go live, I’m hopeful that potential sellers will see the website’s value.
We’ve had a lot of bugs, such as people not being able to sign up because they’re on mobile devices. I’ve communicated that with Saif, and they’ve prioritized going through those issues. Blank Space is ensuring that once we go live, all the bugs are resolved, and we’ll have a smooth website.
How did Blank Space Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
Overall, Blank Space is doing well in terms of project management. However, we’ve experienced delays because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Saif has been upfront with our timeline, but the process took longer than expected because of unforeseeable events.
They are good communicators, and they did an excellent job telling us about pain points and problems. I’ve never been in the dark about anything — they are very transparent with delays and give updated timelines. We’ve communicated through emails and phone calls.
They’ve facilitated constant forward progress, and there has never been a moment that we were stuck with something.
Blank Space is also very good at recommending technologies that would benefit the site and make things a little bit easier for us. The process hasn’t been a traditional vendor-to-client relationship; working with them isn’t transactional, but instead, it’s collaborative.
Blank Space has gone above and beyond in suggesting things. If I say something, they share their experiences. I feel they’re a part of our team, and they care about the success of our company. Saif has even promoted our website to his network. We have a very good working relationship,
What did you find most impressive about them?
Saif’s personal touch distinguishes them from other providers. I like that he has been invested in the project from the very beginning. He has offered up ideas and suggestions, and he has taken a teammate role instead of a third-party provider.
I appreciate that Saif has used his experiences and shared that with me. If I went with a bigger company, not only would I be out of money now, I also wouldn’t have reached as far as where we currently are.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Blank Space can improve their timeliness in starting the project and their transparency on how long things will take.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Having a clear picture of what you want to do and communicating that is the best way to get positive results. Thoroughly think through the process of how you want your platform to look.

Mobile App Development for Customer Loyalty Platform
"They meet their deadlines. Our clients are delighted with Blank Space's timelines and deliverables."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CTO at Spoonity, a digital loyalty and payments provider for small and medium enterprises. We focus primarily on building white label and templateable loyalty and payments programs for restaurants, retail stores, and hospitality businesses.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blank Space Digital?
Mobile app development was part of our initial business strategy as we rolled out our product. Late into 2019, we decided to pull out of that space and instead rely on third-party partners to provide app development services to our clients.
We started looking for potential partners in Canada who demonstrated excellence and quality and gave us high confidence in their ability to execute.
We came across Blank Space, interviewed them, and brought them into our pilot partner program. Their goal was to build out integrated loyalty mobile apps for our clients.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We offer the opportunity of having a mobile app as a point of interaction for our clients. Our app is a good way for our clients to know information about their customers.
Blank Space is helping us deliver that mobile app to our clients. We bring them in just after the sales process closes. We introduce and vouch for Blank Space to the client, and we serve as loose guides throughout the process. We also provide development and business support to cultivate their relationship with our clients on their own.
Most of the process is driven by Blank Space. That’s important to us since we want them to act on their own. Ultimately, we only serve as a mediator between Blank Space and our clients. Blank Space is responsible for the deliverables that the client asks for — we’re just doing introductions and making sure all sides are aligned.
With that, Blank Space is billing our clients directly for their development services, and that conversation is outside of our purview. We only mediate when both parties don’t agree with the price. For the most part, those negotiations happen outside of our company.
After the introduction, Blank Space will design, implement, and release a mobile app for our client.
Currently, Blank Space is working with three of our largest clients and beginning the process of working with some smaller clients. We expect at least a dozen smaller projects and at least 2–3 much larger accounts for them over the next 12 months.
What is the team composition?
I work with Saif (CEO), Vaghula (Mobile Developer), Crystal (UI/UX Designer), and one other resource.
How did you come to work with Blank Space Digital?
We had the vision to bring more third-party developers to work on our platform. We believed it was important to bring in and make our platform friendly to external service providers.
We started with a pilot program for our partner initiative, and that process started with us doing research locally. Although we operate in various countries and continents, we started in Canada for language and accessibility reasons.
We used Clutch to search for top developers within a specific product and price range that has a certain level of experience and successful projects under their belt. Blank Space’s good reviews on Clutch were one of the early indicators that they would be a good partner for us.
After we shortlisted agencies we were interested in, we contacted them and went through an interview and introduction phase. We let them know what we’re trying to do and who our clients were, and we also got a feel of their interests. From there, we went through more questions to figure out if these companies would be a good fit for us.
We ended up having Blank Space as the partner to pilot our partner initiative program.
How much have you invested with them?
Blank Space receives investment from our clients and us. We’ve initially spent about $70,000 CAD (approximately $57,000 USD), but Blank Space also bills our clients directly, and it’s somewhere between $50,000–$60,000 CAD (approximately $41,000–$49,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in August 2019, and it’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve been gathering feedback from our clients on how Blank Space meets their objectives and communicates with their teams. So far, the response has been overwhelmingly positive. Our clients give Blank Space a net promoter score of 8–10.
Everyone that we’ve introduced with Blank Space has been pleased with the outcome of their partnership.
How did Blank Space Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicate through email and Slack in between meetings. We can trust Blank Space to manage projects independently with the client; we are not involved in their day-to-day operations.
For the most part, I know they meet their deadlines. Our clients are delighted with Blank Space's timelines and deliverables
What did you find most impressive about them?
We’ve worked with a few smaller partners in the past, and we’re in the process of onboarding a few larger partners now.
As far as the smaller partners go, Blank Space beats them on reliability and confidence. I have a very high degree of confidence in Blank Space’s ability to execute and manage the relationship with our clients.
We never have a good experience opening our smaller partners directly to client interactions. For the most part, we proxy for their communications, and if we don’t, we end up unhappy with the result.
On the other hand, we found that a larger partner’s size can get in the way. They have a bureaucracy, and they move a lot slower. They’re less open to shifting their perspective and doing things differently. That inflexibility can be tricky for the clients we deal with, especially the small business and restaurant owners.
Blank Space has that sweet spot of being rigid enough that whatever they’re doing for project management is still successful. At the same time, they are also flexible enough that they can pivot to deal with our client’s needs and concerns.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We’re working with Blank Space to help them grow as an organization. We’re quite invested in this relationship, and we’ve brought Blank Space to help us shape our partner policies. We’re interested in helping them grow their business so they can work simultaneously on more projects without necessarily sacrificing quality.
Similar to us, they typically have senior members of leadership in lower-level meetings. The two of us have made changes internally to solve that issue.
We also want them to be more forthright with feedback. We’re trying to build a mutual relationship as part of the process. We know they’ve been happy to work with us. However, there are still ways to improve, so we’re pushing them a little harder to give us that feedback.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
We found a lot of success in having very human conversations with Blank Space. One of our motivations is not to treat our partner program as a business transaction.
We work in a space that has very personable business-client relationships. We deal with project managers and business owners, and treating our partnerships like an exchange of funds might not lead to the results we’re looking for.
We have a solid and good relationship with Blank Space, and it's because we treat each other as partners rather than a business talking to a contractor. We’re all focused on working together and supporting each other.

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the principal for Martech Environmental, an engineering company that does a lot of environmental work.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blank Space Digital?
We hired them to do web development and SEO services.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We expected them to develop multiple websites for each of our websites. They did all the design and development. They helped us build our Shopify cart.
Additionally, they managed SEO, social media, and the marketing campaigns.
What is the team composition?
We deal mainly with Saif (CEO & Founder), but we’ve also spoken to their database people, developers, and code writers.
How did you come to work with Blank Space Digital?
They helped family members in the past, so they came recommended.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent about $15,000–$20,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in December 2017 and our partnership is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
There was a noticeable increase in site visits. They achieved what they were hired to do.
They do a very good job. I was always impressed with their graphics. They’ve always worked with our budget as well. I have no doubt in their potential if we gave them a bigger budget as well.
How did Blank Space Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
They did very well. We haven’t had any problems. They don’t require any babysitting.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re very good communicators. They’re willing to sit down with us so everyone understands what their plan is and what they want to do. I haven’t seen that with other partners in the past.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Not really. Usually, if I see something I don’t like, they address it right away.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Set the expectations from day one.

Platform Design & Development for Freight Logistics Company
“They’ve come to understand the landscape of our business very well.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
We have two companies. One is RoadChain Logistics, and my partner has a company called SAK logistics. We’re migrating our two companies’ freight brokerages into one technology-based company called ShipCurve. We’re integrating technology for shippers, receivers, and anyone else looking to move freight across North America.
We have freight going in and out of the US and Canada on a daily basis. We arrange freight for customers and manufacturing warehouses across the country, both inbound and outbound.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blank Space Digital?
We were looking for a company that could help us develop a platform and website that projected our idea and what we stand for as a company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
After provided them with our challenges and mission statement, Blank Space came back to us with a bunch of ideas. They offered us a high-end solution for interconnecting the site with our technology and marketing stacks. They also built our investor deck, taking a look at whom we were targeting and why. They used Figma and Webflow for design. They created some animated elements on the site.
They did integrations with Mailgun, Autopilot, Zendesk, and a lot of other technologies. They created an end-to-end integration for form submissions, with email notifications. They also built a freight calculator for B2B customers, which takes in cargo origins, destinations, and other variables, and then it generates reports.
Mileage costs are very different between cities and states, so the tool we built doesn’t actually provide that information. However, it logs the request, and someone from our side will get back to the client within one hour.
They brought a lot of good ideas when I talked to them about marketing, so I’ve decided to hire them for that as well. We’re also planning to build some high-end landing pages with them. We’ll be working with them for quite a while.
What is the team composition?
Saif (CEO) has developed most of the website, and he worked with one of his in-house designers.
How did you come to work with Blank Space Digital?
I networked with them through a coworking space get-together that a friend of mine brought me to. I talked to Blank Space about my project, and they actually pitched ideas on top of what I had in mind. They gave me a few examples of their work, and I realized that they were very skillful in website development.
I spoke with two other companies, and one of those was charging double what Blank Space was. Another one had about the same rate as Blank Space, but their portfolio was nowhere near Blank Space’s.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost so far is $10,000–$12,000 CAD (approximately $7,500–$9,000 USD), and it’ll probably be around $20,000 (approximately $15,000) by the end of 2020, including marketing.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with Blank Space 2–3 months ago, and it’s ongoing. I’m planning to get more services from them because they’ve come to understand the landscape of our business very well after building our site.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The freight calculator they integrated into our site is very clever and useful, and they implemented it for a low cost. We were impressed by that because freight calculators are one of the most difficult things to build.
The quality of the website is great, and it’ll be a useful tool for converting B2B clients. It gives a sense of confidence in our company. The branding is very powerful, and it gives a clear idea to customers as to why they would want to work with us and what goals they could achieve in doing so.
How did Blank Space Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
They provided reports on the progress of the website on a weekly basis, and they suggested a lot of changes. They initially told us that the project would take 6–8 weeks, and they ended up delivering it in seven weeks, including touchups.
They were on top of their project management, as well as on top of us as a client. We were busy, but they made sure we had proper communication, through either late-night, early-morning, or midday calls. Blank Space definitely performed well in this aspect.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their quality of work aligns with their management of it. Quality is one thing, and how it’s managed is another. Blank Space uses planning technology wisely to improve the performance of their business. They don’t do a lot of manual work. Emails, phones, and all sorts of things on their end are technology-driven.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There was a slight delay on some content writing work we gave them. It was because of COVID, and I completely understand it. This is nothing to complain about because they still connected me with a very talented content writer that produced excellent work, and they gave me a good discount. In the future, it would be good if they provided more content writing services.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
As a business owner, I want to be given multiple options and not be forced into a particular one. I worked with another developer at one time, and he literally gave me just 1–2 ideas that we could pursue. Blank Space gave me 3–4 options, and three more after that. The fourth or fifth one was it, and it was good from there on out.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the founder of a platform called BORapp, which is based on roadside assistance.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blank Space Digital?
I hired Blank Space to create my mobile application.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In addition to others, their team used Amazon technologies to develop the platform. Blank Space built an iOS app but also made conversation to Android and other platforms accessible. Their team created a feature for users to detail their automotive needs and reach out to others in their local areas.
What is the team composition?
I communicate with Saif (CEO) who had 4–5 people working with him on the development.
How did you come to work with Blank Space Digital?
I reached out to several development companies, and Blank Space was the third or fourth developer that I considered. I talked with Saif and we had a great connection. I’m more of a hands-on person, so they were in a great location just 10–15 mins down the road.
How much have you invested with them?
So far, I’ve invested $7,500
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the conversation in March 2020, and the project’s ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
It’s been a great experience. Their team communicates the technical aspects of the project based on my ideas, which makes them a great asset. Blank Space also works hard.
How did Blank Space Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
We use phone, email, and Zoom to communicate. Saif directly communicates with his team. Their team makes Zoom presentations that they execute well. They meet my project management standards.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Blank Space matched my vision, which was important. They brought my vision into reality.
Are there any areas they could improve?
We didn’t get a chance to meet face to face because of COVID-19. Hopefully, the offices will open soon.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you have a vision that you want to bring to life, I suggest using Blank Space because their team will do so.

Website Design for Travel Company
“They always responded immediately and provided us with creative solutions.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the managing director at a travel services company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blank Space Digital?
We needed a more professional website. Our old site was very basic with minimal content and pictures and we wanted to better target our audience.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Blank Space Digital designed a new website for us. The WordPress website is comprised of 4–5 pages, with additional pages under each menu. Their team remade some of our content, such as rewriting descriptions of our services. They were also responsible for the graphic components of the website. Every page was illustrated according to our requests.
What is the team composition?
My main point of contact is Saif (CEO & Founder, Blank Space Digital). All of the communication between our teams comes through them.
How did you come to work with Blank Space Digital?
I was introduced to Saif through a friend of mine who has worked with him in the past. He highly recommended their services, so I went and sat down with Saif. After outlining the requirements of the project, I decided to work with him.
How much have you invested with them?
We have invested over $125,000 CAD (approximately $94,400 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Our ongoing engagement with Blank Space Digital began in August 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We are in the process of launching the service commercially and hopefully will have more feedback from the market once we fully launch. Internally, we like the design and professionalism of the website. Saif has infused the website with creativity.
How did Blank Space Digital perform from a project management standpoint?
There was a slight delay in the site, but it was largely due to our side of things. I would consider the delay negligible because it doesn’t affect the overall image of the project itself.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They always responded immediately and provided us with creative solutions.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There were some complications, but I wouldn’t blame them because the timeline we set for them was short. For that matter, we had to cut some corners.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Blank Space Digital is a good option to consider. Standards for our industry and other industries require a professional website, and any interested party should seek our Blank Space Digital to improve their site.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the co-founder of QRP (Quality Relief Pharmacists) Consulting Group. We supply relief pharmacists to client pharmacies across Canada.
What challenge were you trying to address with Blank Space Corp?
We were onboarding and scheduling relief pharmacists for our clients manually over the phone. Blank Space Corp helped create a self-service website where pharmacists and pharmacies can sign up and directly engage with our platform—requiring minimal intervention on our part.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Blank Space Corp developed the front- and backend of our website. The backend includes an administrative panel that only our internal team can access. On the frontend, Blank Space Corp built a calendar where relief pharmacists can sign up—after providing their pharmacy license and other identifying information—and indicate their days of availability. Pharmacies can then use an online form—directly linked to their cell phone—to request pharmacists for specific ranges of dates.
What is the team composition?
I worked with Saif (Founder & CEO, Blank Space Corp).
How did you come to work with Blank Space Corp?
While doing market research on various sites to determine what features I wanted, I came across a real estate company site that impressed me. The footer noted that it was built by Blank Space Corp. I reached out to their team and had a conversation with Saif. Our discussion made me feel at ease, and I felt that their approach matched our needs.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent $25,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We worked together from November 2018–January 2019.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Since the site launched, over a thousand pharmacists have signed up through it. We haven’t even started marketing the platform yet; they came to our site through word-of-mouth. Those users have provided highly positive feedback so far as well. They praise the convenience and user-friendliness in particular. A few lag issues popped up, but Blank Space Corp addressed them within hours. Our workload has already dropped since the platform launched. We’re thrilled with Blank Space Corp’s work.
How did Blank Space Corp perform from a project management standpoint?
The team exceeded expectations. Saif understood the vision and requirements exactly and involved me every step of the way. I always knew the status of the project at any given time and could request adjustments as needed. He always responded to issues rapidly. We had three calls per week to check on progress. We talked over the phone and met in person.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They were highly accessible; Saif was always available and I could work very closely with him. Blank Space Corp delivered on my vision and created a simple and professional site.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, everything went smoothly from start to finish.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder of a platform that connects independent beauty professionals with clients. They can filter services by location, price, and reviews.
For what projects/services did your company hire Blank Space Corp?
We hired Blank Space Corp to design and prototype our mobile application along with our initial branding.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to have a functioning prototype that would allow us to get feedback from potential customers.
How did you select this vendor?
I searched for local developers online and narrowed down the options to seven developers. I met with Saif (Founder, Blank Space Corp) first, then immediately canceled the other meetings. Saif was extremely knowledgeable and understood my vision, which gave me confidence that he was the perfect fit for us.
Describe the project in detail.
Based on my penciled wireframes and ideas, he did the app design and prototype. He also created our logo, branding, and business cards.

We worked directly with Saif, which was great.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
They delivered top-of-the-line quality and helped us become ready for development. We are excited to share our app with our subscribers.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
It was amazing. They were highly responsive and answered questions in detail. They were willing to pick up a call anytime, and meeting in a convenient spot for both parties was never an issue. Saif updated us with his progress. As soon as we gave him feedback, he made all requested changes without hesitation.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Originally, we went to Blank Space Corp for app design, but Saif educated us on so many other things, including web design, marketing strategies, business strategies, and app development.
