Activating people around things that matter
We work with brands and organizations interested in activating people around things that matter.
We’re more than marketers—we’re brand activists, giving a damn about the world around us and a voice to causes that impact our communities. We build brands, design globe-shifting work, engage communities, tell compelling stories and launch campaigns that achieve results.
We are a certified B Corp and uncertified ambassadors for the great city of Houston.

Please describe your company and your position there.
The League of Women Voters of Houston is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering voters and defending democracy. I am currently the President.
For what projects/services did your company hire The Black Sheep Agency?
The League, although deeply dedicated to its mission, didn't reflect a current image allowing it to recruit and engage a new generation of members. Put differently, our web site, social media and all marketing materials were outdated and inconsistent in design.
What were your goals for this project?
Position us for a new generation of members while engaging the old. Help us achieve growth sufficient to reinforce our mission.
How did you select this vendor?
Black Sheep had already been selected when I joined the Board of Directors. We are exceptionally fortunate that Aimee Woodall, Black Sheep's founder and President, serves on our Board.
Describe the project in detail.
Black Sheep not only refreshed and updated our web site, they created an entire brand encompassing our social media, marketing materials and more. It was in-depth from start to finish, with a great deal of national and local research, strategic planning, creative design, implementation and even training for those who would use the materials.
What was the team composition?
Aimee Woodhall, Niliza Ali, Katie Laird and Bill Ferenc. I'm sure many more behind the scenes. All creative, responsive, outstanding at what they do. A pleasure to work with!
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
It's too early to measure the work, but I can tell you that hands-down we have received tremendous positive input on the refreshed brand and I've noticed an increase of people interested in joining, and volunteering with, the League.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Excellent. The Black Sheep team always thinks ahead to what is needed to deliver results, and they are consistently responsive when an unplanned need arises.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The Black Sheep team is an "all in" group of exceptionally talented, driven, creative professionals who love the work they do. It's no surprise to me that Inc. Magazine has named them a "great place to work" more than once. The dynamic there, created and nurtured by Aimee Woodall's outstanding leadership, greatly benefits their clients because they believe in what they do and they do it well. It is truly a pleasure to work with them.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not at this time.
