Kumon NA is a privately held company. The company offers an after school Math and Reading program for kids 3 up through high school. There approximately 1600 individually owned franchised locations throughout the US. As the Marketing Manager I am responsible for all national and local marketing efforts.
For what projects/services did your company hire Black Drone?
We did not have in-house expertise on the digital marketing space. There were opportunities to improve our SEO as well as make vast improvement to our website. We also needed Black Drone to deploy and monitor our PPC campaigns while enhancing our digital footprint.
What were your goals for this project?
The immediate goal was on increase leads YoY which would in turn lead to increases in student enrollments at the individual locations. Ongoing goals were to improve SEO and the website.
How did you select this vendor?
After researching vendors, I narrowed down 3 that seemed like a good fit for my needs. Each vendor came in for a formal pitching session with me and my VP. After, my VP and I looked over the 3 proposals and decided on Black Drone. The deciding factors were price, quality of pitch, and overall professionalism.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
The scope included digital strategy, media planning and buying, website and landing page development, creative and content development, tracking, and reporting. TV/Radio, print, digital.
What was the team composition?
Armin Hadziomerovic was my main point of contact and he handled all communications with me. There were other members on his team working on our account, however I did not have much interaction with them.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
With improvements to the website and Landing Pages, we saw 20-30% increase in form fills online. With the improved SEO, we also so visits to the website increase leading to more social engagement and brand awareness. Once the online scheduler was live, we saw a 20% increase in the number of appointments booked. All of this resulted in 7% increase in enrollments YoY.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Workflow was often smooth. Communications between my team and their team was timely and consistent. Projects were mostly finished on time - a few needed to have timelines revised however, it did not affect the outcome negatively.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The knowledge and expertise of the digital landscape that the team possesses is amazing. I learned a lot workign with them.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Speed of projects can always be improved however I was happy with everything overall.
Their web-based enhancements produced at least a 20% increase in engagement with a website form. Site traffic and social media engagement increased, contributing to growing brand awareness. An online scheduling tool spurred a 20% increase in appointments booked.
