I am the CMO at SMG. SMG combines an enterprise-level experience management (XM) platform with differentiated strategic services to help companies measure and manage customer, patient, and employee experiences.
For what projects/services did your company hire Bishop-McCann?
We partner with Bishop McCann to help host our annual client conference. The team helps us with registration management and onsite logistics.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal is to increase the percentage and number of clients who attend our annual event. To accomplish this, we work hard to increase the value clients receive from the event. We measure value in a number of ways including overall satisfaction and likelihood to attend the next year.
How did you select this vendor?
Bishop-McCann has a very good reputation in their industry. We looked at several partners before deciding to work with Bishop-McCann. We found their range of services to be a match with current (and potential future) needs. And we liked the size of the company. They manage huge events for global brands but still aren't too big to give our small-medium size company the attention we need.
Describe the project in detail.
Bishop-McCann is a very hands-on partner. They have a team of experts, each with their specific expertise within the project. The handoffs are seamless and the attention before, during and after the project is second to none.
What was the team composition?
There are specialized experts within the team. We have an onsite event team who are our project managers from start to finish. Then they pull in experts for client speakers, venue selection, creative resources, production, travel, etc.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
Last year, we were able to raise all key metrics. We raised overall satisfaction, likelihood to return and other important metrics around specific content and entertainment elements of the program. We're already planning to work with Bishop-McCann again for next year's program.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The workflow between our two teams was very effective. We had regularly planned planning and status calls/meetings, and the team was very accessible in between meetings.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Culturally, we're a great match. We're in the business of helping brands measure and manage their customer and employee experiences. The Bishop-McCann team really understands service.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There's nothing notable that we plan to change with Bishop-McCann next year regarding workflow or deliverables. It was a great experience.
Thanks to having Bishop-McCann on board, the overall satisfaction with the event increased as well as other metrics such as the likelihood to return, etc. Their team excels at understanding their client’s needs and is easy to reach when they’re needed.
