A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of a business called Jolly Soles. We sell boxes of funky socks as fundraising tools to sports clubs, schools, and charities around Australia.
What challenge were you trying to address with BidPixel Pty Ltd?
My business is quite unique. I started it from scratch, so I was looking for help from BidPixel to promote it through both Facebook and Google Ads.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In the beginning, BidPixel helped me redesign and obtain better conversions on our website to get it up and running. Our company is not purely e-commerce; we do a lot of payment options with schools and sports clubs, so a lot of what the website is about is capturing leads rather than getting a sale. They helped me get those leads off of my website through Facebook and Google Ads.
BidiPixel does the majority of the creative work. Sometimes, I give them photos to use, but most of the time, they’re doing the copy and turning that into animated ads for me. Then, they present it to me and I decide based on their proposal.
What is the team composition?
When they were doing the onboarding process, there was more involvement from the management, the sales team, and others. Now, I just have an account manager. They’ve gone through quite a few account managers, so I’ve probably had four different ones in the time we’ve worked together.
How did you come to work with BidPixel Pty Ltd?
We got a cold call from them. It took us a month to go back and forth with reports and some reviews from them, but I thought they were good and decided to hire them.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working in October 2019, and it’s ongoing. Since I run a fundraising product, I didn't actually need to start anything ad-related until February 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I get analytics from Klaviyo, and I can see how much web traffic the Facebook and Google Ads have dropped on my website. The ads are definitely converting. I can see the sales coming directly from what we’ve accomplished. Some of our ads have thousands of comments on them, which is all thanks to BidPixel running them.
How did BidPixel Pty Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
I think they perform really well. We mainly communicate through email, Zoom, and phone calls.
At first, they constantly consulted me for feedback. Now, they run the majority of the work on their own. However, if they try something new or out of the ordinary, they’ll certainly ask for my approval. Moreover, I get monthly reports from them to tell me how everything is going. I’m fine with their work because I know the sales are ticking through.
What did you find most impressive about them?
In the beginning, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, they proved themselves. I was just starting to run my ads with them. As a fundraising business, it was difficult to face all of the schools, sports clubs, and charities being shut down. Nobody fundraised last year. I had invested a lot of money getting my website up and running, and BidiPixel was willing to help me get through that time and work with me as a long time investment. They saw it for what it was and we got through it all, which is why things are looking good now.
From the start, it's not just about flashing sales with them. If the product is not ready, you're not ready to perform with the ads, or you can't scale, they'll turn you away. That's something that spoke to me really well. BidPixel Pty Ltd is very ethical and comforting in the way they work. They're not just going to take your money. I found that comforting because there's a lot of money involved, and I am a sole trader.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing to improve from my point of view. They’ve done exactly what I needed them to do.
Any advice for potential customers?
Ask questions, and be sure you fully understand the investment you’re making. They’re willing to explain and talk about it with you. I’ve done my own research and learned a bit about ads to begin with. I dabbled in Facebook and Google Ads before, so I had a bit of an idea, but I didn't have enough for it to be worth the money.
Knowing that this will all be handled by a professional who can actually do it and is committed to it, yet is more than happy to answer any questions that you have, is reassuring. I had a lot of questions in the beginning, and they made me feel very comfortable.

Please describe your company and your position there.
DoggyTopia supplies a wide range of fun and functional dog products to people who treat their fur baby like their own kids.
For what projects/services did your company hire BidPixel Pty Ltd, and what were your goals?
Social Media Marketing. We'd tried 4 other companies before with no success, so the goal with Bid Pixel was to help us expand and grow our business
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We were referred by another company we deal with on a regular bases, saw and heard their results which were great.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
Understanding us and our business, then working out the best methods going forward to helping us achieve our goals. They put together graphics, wording, marketing strategies to help get us going in the direction we wanted to be going.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Lots. All the way from the owner of Bid Pixel with his skills and knowledge all the way down to each member who takes care of specific area's to best help maximise our plan going forward.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
With most of our previous companies, we were lucky at times to break even after costs and ad spend, with some cases us losing quite a bit of money. With BidPixel we've seen a ROAS of between 4 to 8 which has far beaten any other previous company's efforts and the results have helped us grow and scale our business which is exactly what we were wanting to do.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Perfect, any problems we've had, they've helped us out and communicated any changes and things to help.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We are pleased with their full care and commitment to helping us improve our business and achieve the results we want. They are genuinely invested in our success.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Not necessarily improve upon, but expanding their content side of things (articles, graphics, photography) side of things would compliment their main core business, but as it's not something that is their main side of things, not a negative against them in that aspect.
