I was the senior business analyst of a global beverage company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bemind?

We bought training CDs from our company’s global supplier, but they were all in English. Unfortunately, we don’t really speak English in Brazil, so we had to get them translated.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bemind did all the translations, subscriptions, and subtitles within two months.

What is the team composition?

We worked with three people from Bemind, each of whom had a field of expertise. I had one main contact.

How did you come to work with Bemind?

We considered different companies, but Bemind stood out because they understood what we needed and offered competitive pricing. While the cheapest option is not the usually the best, they provided good service.

How much have you invested with them?

We spent $60,000 on their services. If I’d done business with our supplier in Germany, it would’ve cost six times more than that.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from 2015 until 2016.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They did an excellent job and allowed us to comply with our company’s global training requirements in a cost-effective manner. Our original supplier was extremely surprised; they thought they were the only ones who had the technology to do that. We had a conversation with the supplier in Germany and our global training manager out of Atlanta, and they said they couldn’t understand how we did it. Since Bemind was very innovative, they ended up becoming one of our biggest suppliers of web training.

How did Bemind perform from a project management standpoint?

They delivered timely results. We set three or four priorities, and they made it happen. We communicated mostly via email and phone calls. Since our offices were in the same city, we also had a lot of face-to-face meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They were customer-driven and willing to figure out solutions. No problem that was too much for them.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Back then, they were still a startup, so everyone was extremely involved in the business and did everything they could. They should continue doing so to ensure the same quality of service.

I’m the CEO of Basecinco. We build tools and methodologies for self-improvement that empower our clients to develop new competencies and abilities through self-awareness.

What challenge were you trying to address with Bemind?

Our iCANamy skill-building academy empowers teenagers and young adults to grow through hands-on challenges and opportunities. As we began this major new product, we needed a developer to build the platform.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Bemind developed the iCANamy web platform and mobile app.  They coded the product using Python. Our methodology helps teenagers foster technical, methodological, social, leadership and attitude skills they can apply to “offline” situations. Our program offers a quantifiable way to measure growth and self-improvement.

The system’s three pillars focus on question formulation, coaching and gamification, and co-creation of sessions and challenges. By accessing the backend CMS, we can view user interactions and create new challenges for them to try.

What is the team composition?

We work directly with an account manager from Bemind. Up to three additional design and technology professionals are also assigned to our project.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our partnership with Bemind started in January 2014 and is still ongoing.  We’ve completed the main platform and are continuing to make improvements such as new use cases.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Bemind is experienced and user-oriented, and we feel confident in their team. Since our self-improvement product has such an interpersonal element, I especially appreciate their UX insight and expertise.

Bemind’s skill set is perfect for our consumer-facing business goals. Rather than looking at our product as a piece of code, they assess it from the user perspective. They deliver products that are perfectly oriented to our target customer base.

How did Bemind perform from a project management standpoint?

Tracking their design sprints shows us the flow of development. There is a good level of transparency and communication between our two teams. Instead of programming our product independently, they collaborate with us hands-on.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their account management is focused on giving feedback about the work. They put substantial effort into forming a strong customer relationship. We really appreciated their special ability to envision the consumer’s point of view.

Are there any areas they could improve?

We had a development backlog at the beginning of the project, which took some time to work through.
