Zizzz

Zizzz is a Swedish family-owned brand. Sleeping bags, blankets and duvets for kids and adults are their bestsellers.

Task: migration to Magento 2

Collaboration: Being a Magento webstore owner, Zizzz decided to grow their business and move to the Magento 2 version. We managed the migration of their multi-store keeping

the core functionality of all website versions. Together with the migration, we renewed the webstore design to make all the language versions look well and work properly.

Caskers

Caskers is an online store of high-quality spirits. Started in 2012 it is now a leading beverage webstore. 

Task: migration to Magento 2

Collaboration: We started our cooperation by managing migration to Magento 2. BelVG upgraded the version of the ecommerce platform with all customers, products, gift cards and url saved.

Owned a custom warehouse management system, Caskers wanted to integrate it to renewed Magento store. We successfully solved this issue. We also developed a club subscription system especially for our client. 

Shiekh Shoes

Shiekh Shoes is a famous footwear and apparel retailer on the West Coast of the United States. The company owns about 140 brick-and-mortar stores. But as product is for adults, online store is necessary.

Task: development of a new webstore aimed at mobile ecommerce.

Platform: Magento 2.

Collaboration: 5 developers worked on

this project and create websore from scratch. Above all, we prepared an easy structured catalog and informative product pages, paid a lot of attention to search realization and checkout process, installed few payment systems. Monin

Monin is known as a leader in the gourmet market. Started over 100 years ago in France as a family business, it is now an international company with products, that are used all over the world.

Task: webstore development for North American.

Platform: Magento Enterprise Edition.

Collaboration: Although this project was quite

challenging, we enjoyed the process of cooperation and are proud of it. During our work, we develop website with interesting features. We added a Newsletter subscription, the list of available categories and subcategories, opportunity to review and evaluate the product purchased and much more.

Salling

Salling is an online supermarket from Dania. There is a wide range of products in webstore: from tea and chocolate to perfume and jewelry.

Task: webstore development.

Platform: PrestaShop.

Collaboration: Despite thousands of available items, the store should look beautiful and be understandable for users. That’s why we added the

Lazy Load plugin (a delay for loading images until a user scrolls down to them) and Recommended Products, applied a customized Filtering module and integrated Sphinx search engine. We also paid a lot of attention to the appearance of the website on mobile devices, because almost half of all visitors use it for shopping.

Blaha Gartenmöbel

Blaha Gartenmöbel is an Austrian retailer of an exterior furniture and accessories. The business was started 50 years ago and today there brick-and-mortar garden furniture store in Korneuburg (20 km to Vienna) is the largest in Europe.

Task: webstore development.

Platform: Magento.

Collaboration: We started working together on

Magento 2 webstore development in 2017. Our purpose was to create a website that would be used both like catalog and a new sales channel. In addition, a Microsoft Axapta should be integrated. We successfully implemented the project and created an online store that meets all client’s requirements.

Lothar John

Lothar John is a home decor retailer from Germany. Along with online shop, where 27K products are, they also own brick-and-mortar store in Hannover.

Lykki is an online store from Canada established in 1989. They call themselves "everything for your office" machine and admit, that their mission is to make online shopping experience super convenient and super quick.

Task: webstore maintenance.

Collaboration: It is always interesting to work with

webstores, that has thousands of products. We helped Lykki to create a world-class website for their business customers with 60 000 stock keeping units. We also handled webstore’s full integration with Sage X3. And now it’s extremely customized webstore that works with no downtime.

KOOKU Design

KOOKU Design is an online design gallery from Poland. It specialized in selling stylish and progressive interior objects. All items are made by well-known designers. Some of them are handcrafted only in one specimen.

Task: webstore maintenance.

Platform: PrestaShop.

Collaboration: It was necessary to work on some back end and

front end glitches. We installed extensions for shipping, which helped to simplify logistics, and payment gateway module that allowed to accelerate the payment process. We also customized some existing modules. The whole review read below.

KAP Diagnostics

KAP Diagnostics is an English trade supplier and distributor of vehicle diagnostic equipment and software. They provide both products and support.

Task: webstore maintenance.

Platform: Magento.

Collaboration: We started working together in 2013 when KAP’s webstore was a simple shopping cart with no special functionality. We

connected an app to a website and customized functionality. Now it is a sleek site with clear structure and we are working on Magento 2 migration. The whole review read below.

MonsterService ApS

MonsterService ApS is a Danish company which provides clients with comprehensive solutions for cleaning and sanitation, office stationery, clothing, warehouses, and beverages. More than 36 000 products from 700 brands are available on the webstore. 

Task: webstore maintenance. 

Platform: Magento.

Collaboration:

During our work, we enhanced the usability and improved page loading time by 70%. We also customized Sphinx search by improving the auto-complete and auto-spell checking and installed some marketing tools.

Duration: maintenance since 2016.

GamerAll

GamerAll is the escalation point of many years of trading on the Steam marketplace. It is not a standalone trading hub, but an extension of the Steam marketplace with more payment options, faster deliveries and fewer restrictions.

Task: webstore maintenance.

Platform: PrestaShop.

Collaboration: It was needed not just maintain the

website, but also added required functionality and integrated it with the Steam. We installed necessary modules and developed a special statistics system with an opportunity to compare the current store and others.

Tecmagex

Tecmagex is an online store from France. They suggest the largest selection of shooting, hunting, reloading equipment, handguns and optics.

Task: webstore maintenance.

Platform: Magento.

Collaboration: We started working together for extensions installation and bugs fixing. Our working together was successful and Tecmagex asked us

to make for them a full site redesign and update it to Magento 1.9. We also enhanced the website’s speed and optimize the server.

Please describe your company and your position there.

We run several webshops where we sell socks, stockings, and underwear of both our house brand and of other well-established brands. We have 15 employees and have been operating since 2012.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

For what projects/services did your company hire BelVG?

We wanted to make our webshops more user-friendly to increase conversions and needed to improve our existing Magento installations. Additionally, we had some small development tasks to resolve.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

Our requirements were so specific that there weren’t many Danish development houses that could accommodate them, and the few that could gave us unrealistic prices. Therefore, we looked abroad and came into contact with BelVG, who could do the job at an attractive price.

Can you go into detail about the services they provided and the scope of the project?

BelVG developed several features which make it easy for customers to find their size and add items to the shopping cart directly from the category pages with a single click. Additionally, they set up different autoresponders and handle a lot of other minor tasks on an ongoing basis.

Everything has been done professionally, beginning with a thorough review of the project, its budget, and schedule before we start. Today, ad hoc tasks are performed quickly and smoothly.

What was the team composition?

I don’t know how many people have been involved in the project since we’re only in touch with a skilled project manager. All tasks are resolved quickly, so at least there’s enough staff assigned to our work to make us happy.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?

They successfully made the website more user-friendly. The changes we’ve made with BelVG have increased our conversions from about 2.5% to just over 5%. Furthermore, they've also helped us launch a very niche-driven webshop that has consistently converted over 10% since day one.

How was project management arranged and how effective was it?

We’re in close contact with our project manager every day while we have a project in progress. Communication is fast and efficient.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

It’s clearly their speed and ability to solve even the most demanding tasks which have impressed me the most.

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am an online marketing manager of a German company that sells alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks to clubs, bars, and other places in Munich. We also have an online shop in which we provide beverages to German-speaking people, within Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

What challenge were you trying to address with BelVG?

Our online shop has been up since 2008. We needed work on the development, maintenance, and essentially everything on the website. We had tried several German companies, but they didn’t meet our expectations, and we decided to look outside of Munich.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement? 

BelVG came on board in the middle of the work where the previous company had left off. Initially, they had to find out what point the other company had reached and fix what needed to be fixed. Our shop was on Magento, and the first company we worked with made changes directly within the code, rather than through a plug-in. They had actually altered the original code, which meant a number of things broke every time we updated the system. Some other companies we had used previously had partially fixed things, but BelVG did the most.

Currently, they maintain, develop, and support the system. If we need a new functionality, they will add it. When we know exactly what we want and have the relevant plug-in, then it's immediate. When I have general questions, they come back with suggestions.

What is the team dynamic?

We work with two people from their team: a project manager and one developer. They also maintain contact with the server crew on my behalf, after I provided them with access to communicate.

How did you come to work with BelVG?

One of our employees found them online.  

How much have you invested in them?

We pay them on an hourly basis and have spent around £6,000, possibly more [$7,115 USD].

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in December 2014 and the work is ongoing.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

Most feedback we get is with regard to our service, rather than the site itself.

How did BelVG perform from a project management standpoint?

They use a ticketing tool, but in the last few years, we have discovered that sometimes we need a quicker way to communicate. It’s easy to get in touch with the project manager, and she always has time for me. If something is more urgent and needs to be solved immediately, I can call her and she gets back to me very quickly. I can then let her know what the issue is and she will let the developer know so it can be fixed.

What did you find most impressive about them?

The other service providers we had used were based in Munich and were horrible, always making big mistakes. So far, BelVG hasn’t made any similar mistakes.

There have been times over the years when issues do come up. Classically, it’s always when Oleg, our developer, is on vacation. However, even when he is away, he always responds and helps.

t Leaf T Ltd is a high-quality loose-leaf tea and tea bag company based in New Zealand. I am the founder and managing director. I started the company 14 years ago.

What challenge were you trying to address with BelVG?

Another group was managing our Magento site, and it wasn’t going that well. I was looking for a partner who would help us keep the shop running. I wanted a vendor with decent rates, good service, and enough developers, so that if someone left the company there wouldn’t be a dip in service.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Our Magento website was up and running, but we needed to upgrade it to the latest version and implement a number of changes to keep it usable for customers. BelVG’s role is to make the changes we give them, perform security upgrades, offer suggestions, and maintain the site.

What is the team dynamic?

We come up with what we want done on the site, and they implement it for us. We’re not technically knowledgeable, but we can present our basic plan and ask them to give feedback on its feasibility. Quite often they will come back with alternate approaches that will work better in the long-term. Once we agree, they go ahead and make the implementation.

I am in touch with Valeria, the head of support. She gives all required information to the developers and acts as the portal between me and the team. I am the website person at my company, so I’m the main contact for BelVG.

How did you come to work with BelVG?

I went onto the Magento extensions website and did some Google research on several companies that offered this service. I touched base with a number of them and was most impressed with BelVG. They had a good value proposition, so I went with them.

How much have you invested with them?

The cost hasn’t been that high for us as a small company. In 2016, we spent $15,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

My initial payment to BelVG was in March 2015. It’s an ongoing relationship.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We have a production and a development site, and whatever changes we make appear on the development site. Sometimes there are little things that need changing, but the system seems to be working well for us.

How did BelVG perform from a project management standpoint?

Having Valeria as my main point of contact has worked great for me, since she’s a people person with a great personality and good communication skills.

Communication has been very easy, even though we have multiple projects going on at once. Because we’re in different time zones, we use Basecamp for keeping track of projects, which has been handy. I can request the work, answer questions at night, and have the results by the morning. I’ve been quite impressed with how quickly we can implement even small changes this way. Bigger projects like developing our mobile site have required multiple weeks, but BelVG has made good time.

We’re a small company, and I’m often very busy. There are months when we focus on other business and don’t have time to touch the website.  Instead of going by a monthly agreement, BelVG allows us to buy small amounts of time and more when we are able. I like this system; it works well for small to medium businesses and helps me manage the workflow.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They’re friendly, professional, and have earned a lot of trust. We work well together. It’s been an easy relationship, though projects have been challenging. BelVG delivers exactly what they promise, and their pricing is pretty good compared to what’s available locally.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No. They’re great for our organization. When I encounter a new problem, BelVG can deal with it. Even if there’s a major issue, they never leave us hanging with the website down. This only happened once and they dropped everything and got the site running right away.

We had an in-house team of developers, but over time, we realized that BelVG was quicker, more experienced, and more cost-effective, which led us to shut down our team and switch everything to them.

They built a Magento store with 60,000 stock keeping units and handled its full integration with Sage X3, plus many other custom features.

We had an in-house team of three developers but now we only have a marketing person who works with BelVG.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Our site is extremely customized now and has seen hundreds of thousands of orders flow through with no downtime. Their team is extremely professional and knowledgeable. They’ve completed every task we’ve given them with a high degree of efficiency.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

We mostly communicate through Redmine but use email every now and then. We share screenshots through Jing to explain what we need to be done. We never have any communication or language issues.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They get things done quickly and efficiently on the first try.

Are there any areas for improvement?

I wish they had other services like SEO, design, etc.
