Advanced Brand Awareness, Video Campaign
First, in order to get people buzzing about The Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy, we set up Google, Facebook, and Instagram ads. This was designed to generate more traffic for the website to increase brand awareness and start generating leads.
Second, we conducted a photo and video shoots. We wanted to make sure people understood the messaging behind The Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy – and there’s no better way to do that than to hear straight from the source. We needed to position our client as someone patients can trust and to provide resources that can help with trauma and loss to help break down barriers that prevent people from seeking help.
Third, we were able to include a variety of patient testimonials on the website to give potential new patients the opportunity to read and review what other patients have been raving about. This gives the patient a sense of comfort and the confidence to book an appointment with The Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy’s certified therapists.
We couldn’t be more pleased with the results:
- 80 new quality leads within the first month of launch.
- 20% conversion rate pertaining to new patients .

New Brand, Website and Marketing Plan
The first thing to change was the logo. The original featured a target and came across as being very masculine, quite intimidating, and a little aggressive. We came up with a red and gray design that features an interlocking A and T, for Alaska Tactical, in a square. It’s a very strong symbol, capturing the power and confidence that comes with firearms training, but it’s much more accessible than the original. This set the tone for all the changes to follow from a web design perspective.
We also rewrote the website copy, which included developing new key messaging and creating content with a focus on search engine optimization (SEO). We wanted to make it clear that Alaska Tactical is the leading gun safety course provider in Anchorage, that it was a family-run business, that it catered for students of all levels of ability, and that the skills learned could one day save a life.
The new web design leans heavily on images to soften the Alaska Tactical image slightly and make it welcoming for a broader range of students. We used red subheadings, to make them pop so people can quickly find the information they need, and presented information in bite-sized chunks.
From a web development perspective, our main focus was transforming the Courses part of the website. We presented them in an interactive list, with icons that increase in size when you hover over them, to boost engagement. Each class has its own page with a concise summary of what students can expect, what they need to bring with them, and how they can sign up.

Re-brand, Web design and Development
We set out to capture these concepts in one, clear rebranding package. We also redesigned the website to enhance the user experience of every potential customer. This was all supported by ongoing marketing services, including content marketing, social media marketing, Facebook Ads, and Google Ads, to make ESI’s value proposition clear. It has been very successful in generating leads.
The rebrand started with the logomark, a gear to represent ESI’s role as a manufacturer and not just a vendor. The tagline, “Built Arctic Tough,” was put front-and-center, alongside the name. This is designed to further emphasize their engineering services for Alaskan environments.
In addition to the logomark, we gave ESI five icons to represent the five categories of equipment it manufactures and vends. This is based on the concept of the four original elements: heat, power, water, and earth. We included a fifth icon for “miscellaneous” equipment per their request, which reflects custom engineering. These icons were used together with the ESI logo to illustrate their wide portfolio of equipment offerings and separately whenever ESI needed to display separate categories of equipment, whether on the website, in advertising material, or in marketing collateral.
The colors and fonts brought new life to the ESI brand. We chose grey and blue for the logo to give a clean, engineered feel to the mark. In the icons, we incorporated warmer, earthy tones of green, yellow, and red to fit with the variety of outdoor environment in which ESI’s equipment is ultimately used. We chose fonts as bold as the people who work on the North Slope.
Our ongoing marketing services have also been extremely successful. In fact, a press release we published in 2020 earned them a feature article in Alaska Business Monthly magazine!

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the founder and president of the Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy. We are a private mental health group practice that specializes in working with bereaved and traumatized individuals. We are a group of 8 mental health clinicians offering several modalities of treatment to help clients find healing and hope.
For what projects/services did your company hire Beacon Media + Marketing?
Website design and maintenance, video production, marketing, and optimization
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
Found their company online and had a wonderful conversation with the CEO. Met with the team and was thoroughly impressed with their personalization, receptivity, professionalism, and patience.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
After a series of meetings, a breakdown of the cost and details of the project was outlined. I was a newer company at the time, and my budget was limited as a result. They worked within my budget to help develop an amazing website and start the marketing process.
After launching the site a month later, the team started on the Facebook and Google ads. In the meantime, their production staff came to the office and spent the day videotaping my clinicians, the office, and suggested set up sessions with "clients" to illustrate our work. We continue to work towards very targeted ads that have exponentially increased our traffic
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I"m unsure the roles of each person, but I know there is my account manager, Michelle. She has had me work with multiple team members, such as Ashley (account coordinator), and multiple web site content writers and creative web developers.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We went from struggling to fill our clinicians' schedules to at times holding a wait list. I had to hire a new clinician to accommodate the increased traffic. Financially we have doubled our income.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
So efficient, flexible, engaged, and responsive. I have never has to wait for communications or ideas the team has come up with to maximize my investment with Beacon.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
The flexibility and patience with the onboarding process were exceptional. They have grown with me, and have really creative ways of marketing. For example, the company sent a person to record interviews and role plays. Took that material and created some lovely ads!
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
While I know they have to get paid for their services, at the beginning the cost was very high. I almost had to leave the company's services. However, they did what they could to squeak out as much as possible from the small budget I have. I also would have liked a few more clips from the 6 hours worth of recordings. We ended up with three ads, and I feel there should have been more. But what we did get, it was very nice quality!

Please describe your company and your position there.
I'm the owner of a growing group therapy practice in downtown Chicago.
For what projects/services did your company hire Beacon Media + Marketing, and what were your goals?
I realized that my website needed to be updated but also really needed to find a company that would be familiar with mental health advertising, staying within budget, and helping me grow my business. I also wanted help with social media advertising and building a better base for client contact points.
How did you select Beacon Media + Marketing and what were the deciding factors?
They really took the time to listen to my needs, take in all factors and input I had shared with them throughout the entire process and they were very personable and friendly. I highly value this, especially as a care provider for others, so when someone can take care of me in similar ways it's a great feeling.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
First they engaged in looking at the website as it was, provided feedback on how it would be best to redo the website to make it faster for client engagement and being able to retain them on the site long enough to reach out. Then we touched base on designing, they had a good process of having me submit what websites I liked, even ones that weren't therapy sites.
We then met for a hour to an hour and a half interview process so they could write up the website sections using my voice, what I prioritize, why I started the practice and what I value most in caring for others, etc. Then we moved into them showing me the design, doing tweeks, and running ads as well as approving social media posts.
The process to allow them admin access was pretty straight forward and all of this has been so helpful.
How many resources from the Beacon Media + Marketing team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with an account manager, social media manager, and a few others.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The website streamlined intakes through the website, which has been fantastic. Intakes have been overall much more consistent and retention has been pretty high as a result.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Email communication is our main form of communication and it has been so easy and effective. They are always very responsive to my needs, and if there is anything that needs to be updated, fixed, etc is so quick and simple. Everything they have delivered looks perfect, meshes together, and has the theme throughout.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Again, I just loved how personable they were, I knew who I was working with from the very beginning instead of being handed off over and over or not having a single person (or a few people) to go to directly for my needs. I feel very valued and cared for, which I believe is very important.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

Please describe your company and your position there.
We own a franchise in residential and commercial property management. I am the president.
For what projects/services did your company hire Beacon Media + Marketing, and what were your goals?
We were starting up out company and had zero knowledge about how to establish a digital presence, build, and maintain a presence. We hired them to help organize social media, website, reviews, and content. The first goal was to get to top of Google and second goal was inbound marketing content to engage and built trust in the local market.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
I meet this vendor at a networking event. They did a fabulous job in listening and was interested in our small business field. This made it where early on they were able to understand the challenges easier and find valuable solutions that didn't waste time.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and marking tools used.
The scope of work was connecting Google and social media accounts so it had accounts, bringing it current to the brand design required by franchise, utilize social and see to obtain Google ranking, then utilize inbound techniques to create engagement and natural searches for target customers.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
I worked with our account manager who organized any meetings needed. Then in group meetings with creative designers and Google experts, I was able to participate in brainstorming to help answer questions to develop a creative strategy.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
As normal, any startup has zero accounts and zero leads. At the end of 6 months we ranked top 3 on Google, had reviews, and the lead volume increased to 70 a month. This allowed our franchise to win an award for fast growth out of 300 other offices.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Their reports are timely and has a lot of information. They remember to provide updates, which helps as business owners can get distracted.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
It is never easy to execute a million creative ideas while staying on budget, but they have.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
I'm glad they added well-rounded account managers. When account managers transition, maybe more notes on the current plan and future plans and ideas of a plan to help avoid spending time in repeating history at times.3

Web Dev & SEO for Flooring Company
“When I think about Beacon, I can only think that they’re excellent.”
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the owner of SAV-ON Flooring, a flooring company based in Alaska.
What challenge were you trying to address with Beacon Media + Marketing?
We needed help to create our website and have our SEO content optimized. We had recently moved from one city in Alaska to another, and even though we had some residual business going on, our business suddenly stopped. We didn’t know what was going on. My husband had been working in a radio station where they needed websites done as well. He told the person he was working with to help us with our site. This person did a bartering deal with him to get our website done. It had a beautiful design. However, it didn’t have any content.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Three years ago, Beacon Media + Marketing helped us create our original website. When our second website didn’t work, we got in contact with Jennifer (Co-Founder & CMO) again.
Beacon has been helping us recreate our website. They’ve also been working on our SEO optimization.
What is the team composition?
We work mainly with Jennifer (Co-Founder & CMO) and Kym (Website Developer).
How did you come to work with Beacon Media + Marketing?
Jennifer was our customer three years ago, and she and I became associates and friends. She helped us create our original site.
When my husband was working with the radio station, they made him a pretty good deal to do our website, so we gave them a shot. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out, so we got back to what we knew. I got in touch with Jennifer, and she told me that she and her team would help me out.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started this new project in April 2021, and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The original website done by Beacon was beautiful and totally interactive. Content would come up whenever we clicked on anything. We never had problems with it, and we got a lot of business through it. The process was very easy and very smooth.
Beacon worked diligently to get that website set up, and that’s why we returned with our business to them. Now, we’re getting the results that we had on our first website. Within two days of speaking with Jennifer, our phone started ringing again, even when the site hadn't been completed — that’s what we were looking for.
How did Beacon Media + Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
Beacon has great communication with us. Any time we’ve got in touch with them, they’re quick at responding back. Jennifer responds usually within five minutes.
What did you find most impressive about them?
When I think about Beacon, I can only think that they’re excellent. Their web design is beautiful, sleek, and there’s elegance to it. Given that we work in flooring and design, those are important elements — it has to look good to the eye. The pictures that they use are crisp and nice looking. Those are key elements for a website.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Beacon needs more informational videos explaining what they do. My husband’s having a hard time understanding what they do and what he’s paying for. If they had informational videos explaining their work, it would be killer. They would have more business from smaller businesses because they’d have an understanding of what they’re paying for.
Big companies understand media and advertising, but small businesses rely on word of mouth. That kind of information would help Jennifer’s business and other people as well.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Know your industry, provide the web developers with good references, and be available to help facilitate the project quickly. Jennifer told us that we’re making it easy for them to complete the job quickly and efficiently.
