Anytime we have an issue, we just give them a call. If they can resolve it online, it gets done. If not, they send someone out physically to solve it. The team also helps us implement new technology. For example, they helped us set up a new computer lab with 25 stations. The team took us from A-Z, which computers we needed to access, and what internet provider is best to use.
BCA IT is also supporting our shift to remote work with the COVID-19 pandemic. They helped us make the change quickly. Most recently, the team is helping us increase our bandwidth to make sure we have enough resources for children that will be remote learning here at the start of the school year.

We hired BCA to manage our IT, network, and infrastructure.
What was the scope of their involvement?
To start, they set up our servers. They've evolved our servers over the years, so we've gone from having servers on-site to virtualizing our servers to having co-locations. They’ve done major projects in terms of updating our back-of-house, so all of our IT equipment, as well as managing every user and helping them with any needs, such as small updates to their Microsoft Office account.
We buy and order our equipment through them, and they suggest the licenses that we need for managing everything. They help monitor our security and do major security patches to prevent any form of hacking. They've also helped us mount businesses abroad, so they were one of the ones that helped us set up our international offices. They've even helped us set up other offices around Florida.
What is the team composition?
I’ve worked with eight people, including Kenneth (President), who is the owner, and Angel (Network Account Manager), who is our primary account manager. I’ve also worked with a secondary account manager, three techs, a high-level security and software engineer, and two customer service reps.

I started working at Tire Group International 10 years ago, and BCA was already helping with IT. However, I know that they met because one of the longest-tenured people at Tire Group is a longtime friend of Kenneth. That person introduced Kenneth to the owner of Tire Group, and they started talking about managing IT. They onboarded Kenneth, and the rest is history.

All I have to do is sit down with them and either approve or decline their suggestions; it’s a very straightforward partnership. We’re only about 10 minutes down the road from BCA IT, Inc., so that helps with service. They’re fantastic.
They usually hit their deadlines. If they’re not going to meet a deadline, it’s generally because of a factor outside of their control. They’re also very good about saying whether they’ve run into an issue.
They have a ticketing system, so my communication with them is through email. If I want a ticket to be opened, I send an email to a specific address, and that goes into the ticketing platform.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve worked with them for 10 years now, so at this point, it’s become a friendly relationship. I know them personally, and I really enjoy working with them and talking with Kenneth.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Kenneth’s company used to have a different name, and then at some point, they went through a merger. During that transition, the service fell off for 6–12 months. However, by then, we’d already been working with them for a significant amount of time.
Other than that, I don’t have any criticisms; they’re great. They always respond to me and deliver. They’re fair about everything.
Any advice for potential customers?
100% hire them. This does depend on your company size; I believe we’re one of their larger organizations, and we have about 100 people. If you’re a small–medium-sized business, they’re the best in the business.

What challenge were you trying to address with BCA IT, Inc.?
We were originally partnered with a different IT firm, but they struggled to work with our multi-state office operation. We wanted to find an agency that was based in Miami — near our main office — that could also work with our other locations in New York and Pennsylvania.

Generally, they provide managed IT services across all of our offices.
When we first brought them on, the BCA IT, Inc. team completed an audit of our current situation to determine whether or not our hardware and equipment was what we needed.
Then, they set up a virtual cloud to enable remote working. We’re a majority web-based company, so everything we do in online and through our website. Their team manages all of our hosting and security needs, SSL (Secure Socket Layer) certificates, and any other IT tasks we need help with.

Kenny (President, BCA IT, Inc.) is main representative. There are two people who handle our administrative needs, like helping us upgrade all of our computer equipment across all three offices. There are also several engineers that work on our account.

I’m the owner and president of Edge Cordage, a cordage distributor. We supply everything from kite strings to mooring lines for ships, and all the different rope products in between.
What challenge were you trying to address with BCA IT, Inc.?
We had an old-fashioned bookkeeping machine that didn’t retain any information. We were having inventory issues as well and decided we wanted to transition to a computer system to keep track of all of our information.
What was the scope of their involvement?
BCA IT helped us transition from our manual bookkeeping process over to a computer system. At the time, the company was just called BCA—it’s since split into BCA IT, but it’s all under the same family company. Likewise, the bookkeeping software we use is now called Sage, though it went by a different name at the beginning of our engagement.
The BCA IT team helped us understand how to use the software and what we could leverage it for. We went out to their facilities about two or three times for training sessions. Once the software and computers were installed, they worked with us for a few days to migrate all of our vendors, customers, inventory, and accounts payable section onto the system.

We work with a team of about 10 people.

I’d been considering transitioning into software and looking at different programs to put in. A close friend of mine had installed the same software, which was more comprehensive than what we needed at the time. One of my clients — a law firm — used BCA to upgrade their entire computer server and workstations. I also use BCA’s services personally.
What was the scope of their involvement?
BCA provides my client with IT support for both hardware and software. The law firm has a server environment as well as individual workstations. Employees can reach out directly to BCA if they have any software issues. If it’s a hardware issue, the law firm’s owner or I will get in touch.
What is the team composition?
We work with four people.
How did you come to work with BCA IT, Inc.?
When the law firm put out the idea of a server upgrade, their in-house IT person introduced them to Kenny (President) to make it happen. From the moment we met him, he has been incredibly professional and forthcoming with information and knowledge.
I’ve worked for a law firm full-time and went through many IT people. Quite frankly, in my experience, the person giving the presentation tends to know the jargon without knowing what happens behind the scenes. If we ask them questions, they don’t actually know if what you request is possible or easy. In this case, Kenny presented it to us and knew what he was talking about. He never oversold or misguided us. That was so huge to me after experiencing the opposite.

We’ve spent over $60,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We first met them about three years ago. We took a baby step with them in going to the cloud with Office 365, but it was a while before we could jump in to redo the server. That’s what we’re working on now.

BCA is incredible. They give very professional, detailed proposals and present us with their offerings and suggestions. They take the time to explain everything thoroughly to us as well. There are clients that I’m begging to switch to BCA. One of my previous clients decided to upgrade their servers with a different IT company, but they’ve since had a nightmare in that transition. I believe they’re going to jump over to BCA for their tech support from here on out.
How did BCA IT, Inc. perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve been incredible. I’ve worked with their inside office, and they’ve been very efficient in responding with a request to something that I had to bill for. One thing I like about them is that they try to keep our team consistent. I don’t like a company with a call center system. BCA put a team on our account that works with us throughout the partnership.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The fact that they deliver what they present impresses me. I cannot say enough good things about BCA. I’ve been in this field for 20 years, and my previous firm went through 5 IT support people. My life would’ve been so much easier if we had BCA on staff. I honestly have not met such a nice company to work with.

No, not at this point. We haven’t been able to work with the things they’ve done since COVID-19 started.

Do everything you can to get Ernesto (Senior System Engineer) and Dennys (IT Support Specialist) on your team!
