Discover how it took smart minds to solve complex AgriTech challenges.
Surveying farmers’ fields is an important job. It enables farmers to monitor and then take preventative or retroactive action to maintain the health of their valuable crops. However, walking their fields to visually ‘scout’ crops is time-consuming and inefficient. Employing a crop consultant to do this for farmers can be expensive. AgriTech provided an innovative alternative solution.
Skippy Scout is an app that enables farmers to control a domestic drone to survey crops, taking photographs at multiple scout points in each field.

Creating a new scalable cloud-based website and native mobile apps
We delivered a highly scalable, cloud-based platform, using a microservice architecture for maximum scalability. Each significant component is built as its own ASP.NET Core microservice with its own database and storage solution, using Docker containers deployed onto a Kubernetes cluster. A combination of Amazon CloudFront Content Delivery Network (CDN) and CloudFlare create a high level of resiliency, allowing the platform to manage large amounts of data remaining highly secure.
We ensured architectural consistency by employing a tree structure. The web and the native apps use React and React Native respectively, allowing us to deliver the rich User Experience we were given to produce by the third-party – including a clear right-to-left layout / navigation and content primarily in Farsi - and to consolidate the business logic required for both app types into a single code base. Using this technology meant that the web and native apps could share as much functionality as possible, making the codebase as maintainable as possible.

Building a user-friendly SaaS based EdTech resources portal
After insightful fact-finding meetings with Kathryn and Natalie, we set about planning and designing a simple and intuitive self-service interface.
Teachers have got enough on their plate teaching to spend hours learning, so we designed the platform specifically so that teachers could choose from multiple package types and be quickly and easily onboarded. We also made it very simple for the user to set up their account systematically for use across the school and throughout the academic year.

Creating a Patent Pending International Overstock Auction and Networking Platform
We designed and built the Buyfair platform so that a simple automated spreadsheet upload would allow sellers to add their inventory in bulk, in seconds. It could handle various items with different details and multiple product images. Not only that, it could attribute them to multiple auctions for each product type.
Security was a top priority, so we designed the payment flow to ensure that the funds are kept secure and winning bidders were committed to pay. How? By making buyers pre-authorise a card. Funds from buyers are then held in an escrow account until they receive the goods. Simple and fair whichever way you look at it. Invoicing is fully automatic, as is the transfer of commission into Buyfair’s account.
The graphical interface was designed to clearly inform the buyer of current real time stock allocation at the instant they submit their bid. Also, to encourage engagement, we gamified the bidding process.

Developing an online charity auction for celebrity donations
The Good 2 Bid platform harmonises the relationship between charities, talent and the auction experience, with a site structure that gives equal precedence to all three. We built a cloud-based solution which benefits from real-time auction functionality to deliver a smooth experience to users.
Full details of a bidder’s activity – as well as prompts to view new available lots – are available on a personalised dashboard and the site uses the Azure Search Service to give an intelligent, flexible search functionality.
Bidders can set alerts for particular auctions they’re interested in, or for particular talent, so they will be notified when a lot associated with that celebrity is added and can monitor bids on lots and manage their own bids.
Throughout the site, all pricing details are transparent, from reserve pricing and highest current bids, to the percentage made by the charity from the auction. If a bidder is outbid, they are notified by email so they can choose if they would like to raise their bid.

Backend App Development for Drone System Farming Company
“They’ve done a really good job throughout the project.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the founder of DroneAG. We provide a software solution that uses drone systems to scout farmers’ crops and return information on their fields.
What challenge were you trying to address with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
We started talking to AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd very early on. We had an MVP at the time and wanted to start building out the full platform, but we didn’t have the resources in-house. We hired them to develop the first full version of our solution so we could go to market.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Another company was building an iOS app to be the main interface for the users, but we needed AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd to build the backend infrastructure that we needed. They created a database infrastructure and wrote some pretty sophisticated programming for drone flight control. They integrated a few other services that enabled the drone to provide information on the farmer’s fields.
To do so, they created a robust set of cloud-based API endpoints that could communicate with the app and pull data in from other external third-party endpoints. Then they created a central system to store all of that information, process it, and then send it where it needed to go.
Additionally, they did a bit of frontend work around a user admin and online portal. Since the app launched, they’ve been constantly improving the app, the software, and the backend.
What is the team composition?
They put as many people on the project as we needed to meet our requirements.
How did you come to work with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
Our CTO knew Oliver (Founder & Lead Solution Architect) really well and thought they would be a good fit for what we needed to do. After a couple of discussions, it sounded like they had the expertise that we needed. They were pretty familiar with high-end mathematics calculations and geo-referencing, while other partners we talked to didn’t have that background.
How much have you invested in them?
The initial contract was $50,000, but now we pay a monthly fee.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the project in August 2019 and we launched the app in March 2020. Now we’re working with them on a month-to-month basis.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd got the app to that we could launch it. With their ongoing support, we now have about 120 users.
For the service they provide, they’re reasonably priced. Of course, there are bugs, but even then, they take ownership and fix them without additional costs. I think it has overall been very good.
How did AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
All of our project management is done through Microsoft Azure and Microsoft DevOps. We also have weekly meetings where we get to talk to the project manager and developers. All of the communication has been really useful.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The team has a very pragmatic approach, which works very well for what we are doing. They have a lot of expertise — they have PhDs in mathematics — and they are not afraid to give us their opinion. Overall, their transparency is very helpful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
They’ve done a really good job throughout the project. I haven’t needed or wanted anything more from them.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You want to have a very good and clear idea of what you want to do and what you want the final outcome to be. Trust that AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd has the experience to know the best way to get there. You really have to think about what you want to do and then they will tell you how to achieve it.

Web Development for Psychology Company
"They’re a core part of what we do now."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the deputy managing director at a strength assessment business. We have a strength assessment tool that’s a cross between a psychological assessment and personal development tools that allows users to find their strengths and find ways to use them more effectively.
What challenge were you trying to address with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
Our service is controlled through an online web-based platform where AVAMAE Software Solutions comes into play.
What was the scope of their involvement?
They designed and built our current platform. It was a long period of development, design, and feedback. We had to work with this while keeping the older system running.
AVAMAE Software Solutions managed that process through design, coding, delivery, and hosting.
What is the team composition?
We directly interface with our project manager and Oliver (Founder). We also deal with some of their developers and a designer.
How did you come to work with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
I don’t know how that came about. It was before my time with the business. We’ve used them for ten years, but there was a gap until this project came along.
Their company is in a similar space as us, so it seems like they would be a safe choice to work with.
How much have you invested with them?
Over the years, it’s been over $300,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them on this project at the beginning of 2016.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We have several measures we keep track of – through usage and completions. We also get feedback on usability and user interface. We have a monthly product development meeting with their team, where we discuss what is and isn’t working. It’s a key point of how we measure our success.
We’ve recently worked on them a few big products added to our offerings. We go through a fairly rigorous testing process with a group of VIP customers. We get significant feedback from them on usability and function.
How did AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
We’ve been developing the ways of working within the last year. We have a good system in place that involves clear lines of communication between our project manager and theirs. We’re using Azure DevOps as a key communication tool. Everything is managed through that platform, and we’ve also been working with them to develop additional features there.
Along with the monthly meeting, we had quick catchups for 15 or 20 minutes to touch base. It works well with our process. At scoping stages, we have larger workshops at their offices to scope work out through whiteboards and demo software.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their ability to see what we’re trying to create impresses me. Their team comes up with constructive ways to do that. It feels like they’re part of our team, which has been invaluable to us.
Their team easily steps into our world and understands what we’re trying to deliver from a usability and technical perspective. Their insight has been helpful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, we’ve been making big progress on the communication element. When I started with them, I would’ve said the communication needed to improve, but now, we’re at a point where they’ve done great work on that.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Talk about clear communication methods to make sure information flows. Structure that from the start. Treat them as part of the team – that helps them understand what you’re trying to deliver. They’re a core part of what we do now.

Web Dev for One-to-Many Auction Platform
“We could rely on their engagement and advice.”

the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO of buyfair.global.
What challenge were you trying to address with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
We were trying to find the technical solution for a physical problem. It was our goal to create an online auction site for our company.
What was the scope of their involvement?
My co-founder Damon and I had several meetings with Oliver (Founder & Solutions Architect, AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd) to discuss what we were trying to achieve over a series of several weeks. It was through our several conversations and their development work that we were able to work out how the web-based platform would function.
The final app is a multi-level, premium B2B auction platform. On the Microsoft-based app, users can list thousands of a particular item, and businesses bid on them within a certain time frame. This allows sellers more confidence that they can sell through large quantities of items.
The platform enables buyers to purchase a portion of the full quantity of items, something that other auction sites don’t allow for. At this point, we have a patent pending on the idea.
What is the team composition?
I primarily worked with about three different people. That included Teresa (Account Manager, AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd), Oliver, and another teammate. There were also others working behind the scenes.
How did you come to work with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
Along with that, we went through a tender process. In the end, we decided that AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd understood our goals much better than other vendors. We had full confidence that they would be able to deliver.
How much have you invested with them?
We spent about £125,000 (approximately $165,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
The partnership started in 2017, and it’s still ongoing. However, we launched the product in November 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Because of their work, we were able to launch the product and begin onboarding companies. We already have over 150 businesses signed up, and we’re beginning to see traction as well. At this point, we’re crowdfunding to expand our services. The site looks amazing, and their team continues to work very closely with it to ensure that it keeps improving over time. It’s been a great collaboration.
How did AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
The team was knowledgeable and responsive in each of their focus areas. They were very strong and understood our goals, which was refreshing. Leaving no stone unturned, they went through every detail of our project. We often did this in person or via Skype. Everyone had to sign off on changes before we moved on, which allowed for a workable system and solution.
I also appreciated being on the same wavelength as our contacts at AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd. While there were several people working on the project, it was nice to be dealing with a core group on their team. They were very responsive whenever we needed them to be.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They truly understood what we were trying to achieve, providing us with their experience, knowledge, and interpretations. Receiving suggestions from a technical partner is ideal. We could rely on their engagement and advice. They can use their knowledge without being afraid of guiding me toward better ways of doing things. I’m not a technical person, so that’s greatly appreciated.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Any customer wants even faster response times, but that’s likely unreasonable. They didn’t underperform in any way. In fact, they overperformed in any area. I’d push them to do their absolute best, and they responded well to that, often exceeding my expectations.

Multiple Web Dev Projects for Psychometric Platforms

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the head of science and technology for Criterion, a psychometric assessment provider.
What challenge were you trying to address with Avamae Software Solutions Limited?
We sought their help in creating a user-friendly psychometrics platform that complies with employment data laws. We were also looking to differentiate our platform from the products of our competitors by offering flexible customization options.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In our ongoing partnership, they’ve built us three platforms. The most recent one is a metrics platform called Psycruit. It features fully customizable options APIs for integrating with third-party platforms. It’s compliant across all devices.
The development process was kicked off with discussions about platform architecture, which led to mockups of visual designs. Once we went through a UX journey, we began the actual build of the platform: iterations of coding and testing. We’ve maintained a managed services relationship where we have monthly sprints to enhance the platform with new features.
They utilized Microsoft.NET, Microsoft Azure, and JavaScript as the primary technologies.
What is the team composition?
Oliver (Founder, Avamae Software Solutions Ltd) has been our main point of contact throughout the years. We now have multiple points of contact for different projects, which include both project managers and developers.
How did you come to work with Avamae Software Solutions Ltd?
We first engaged them because they seemed to be the only provider we found that readily understood psychometrics. They had an immediate grasp of the project scope and requirements, and they picked up the project very quickly.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent close to $100,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We’ve been working together since 2011, and we have an ongoing relationship. The most recent project began in late 2018.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve received excellent user feedback for the platform, particularly on its smooth UI and custom features. Avamae has created a product that’s more polished than our competitors’ offerings.
We deployed the platform after a testing process, and we’ve experienced very few bugs and difficulties. The code itself is put together meticulously—it’s very clean and functional. Given that our business relief on this technology, it’s a critical success indicator that the platform works so well for us.
How did Avamae Software Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
We have weekly calls to monitor and review our ongoing projects. They typically deliver in a very timely manner, according to estimates. With builds of significant complexity, there are occasional delays but it’s never been a major issue.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really appreciate the robustness of their expertise in different areas. Unlike other providers we’ve worked with—where they’ll have a polished sales force but are technically insufficient—they provide great value of both ends of the spectrum.
They excel at understanding our requirements and developing a creative solution to address them. They think through all possible contingencies and eventualities to future-proof their products.
Are there any areas they could improve?
In the software development world, project management can always be improved. Things can often take longer than we want to develop and test, but it’s just the nature of the industry. I wouldn’t single them out for any particular criticism.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Be very clear about your requirements, and make sure they understand the complexity of what they’re delivering. They’ve got lots of good ideas.

Web Dev for Personality Assessment & Questionnaire Platform
"Their adaptability and ability to follow through with their commitments is quite impressive."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m a work psychology consultant. We’re psychometric providers, so we do personality assessments for the workplace.
What challenge were you trying to address with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
We don’t have an in-house development team, so we relied on AVAMAE to build our web-based assessment platform. They continue to host and manage all required adjustments. Whenever a client asks us for a new development, we immediately consult AVAMAE.
What was the scope of their involvement?
The most recent project was the integration of new assessment reports to the existing system, as well as an upgrade of the assessment design.
They developed three new questionnaires and reports, which were built from scratch on the platform. They also had to develop the scoring algorithms for these assessments.
What is the team composition?
Whenever I need a quote for an adjustment, I generally worked with Teresa (Account Manager, AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd). Joe (Project Manager, AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd) is the project manager who oversees product development. We also utilize Avamae’s support function—if something ever goes wrong, we’ll use their support system and they usually get back to us quickly.
How did you come to work with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
They came recommended. We knew that AVAMAE was one of the few software companies that had experience with psychometric systems and had developed a similar platform before.
How much have you invested with them?
The personality assessment platform project cost approximately $21,000, and the most recent adjustment cost around $5,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement for the platform began in 2011, and the initial development spanned over three months. Our most recent project began in February 2019. While production was slightly delayed, it’s still ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They’ve definitively contributed to how the business differentiates itself against our competitors. The assessment platform feels very modern and user-friendly. The design of the produced reports is also attractive and easy to use.
So, when we first brought the product to market, we received largely positive feedback from our clients. Most other platforms back then were clunky and slow. AVAMAE did an excellent job of taking account of the respondent’s user journey to deliver a seamless UX.
How did AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
I generally communicate with them through e-mail and over the phone. We’ll sometimes meet up in their London office. It depends on the status of the project, but they’re quite responsive, so we typically get an inquiry response within 24 hours.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their adaptability and ability to follow through with their commitments are quite impressive. We can tell that they’re genuinely concerned about the success of the client and that they’ll be involved until the very end.
Theresa, in particular, has been great—she’s so supportive, even in projects she’s not directly involved in.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I believe they’re already working on this, but they could possibly improve their internal communication. It’s also good to be upfront with the client whenever you run into problems.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
You should be clear and communicative about what you want. That helps them because then there won’t be assumptions or misunderstandings about the task at hand.

Web Dev for Physical Education Subscription Platform
"They really understood the brief and absolutely hit the target in terms of the design."
the reviewer
the review
A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the managing director and creator of Get Set 4 PE. It’s an online platform for primary school teachers to access lesson plans and assessment tools for physical education (PE).
What challenge were you trying to address with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
We wanted to create something that was simple and easy for PE teachers to use, understand, and digest in order to deliver high-quality PE. We also wanted teachers to be able to assess their students, including the appropriate security to protect student's data. Finally, we needed to be able to personalize it for individual schools.
What was the scope of their involvement?
AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd developed and designed a web-based platform that teachers can view using any device. The first thing they did was create a prototype of what it might look like. They gave us three choices for the color scheme and the general layout. We picked our favorite option and then they then built it. We have an illustrator who designs characters for lesson plans, and they incorporated them into the design of the website.
We wanted something we could change often. AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd made the home page quite fluid in terms of the content. They continue to work with us on building out new areas of the platform. Recently we added a reporting section where teachers can filter data to get statistics and track the progress of students. They also built the backend so that we can manage user subscriptions from our side.
What is the team composition?
Our main contact is Teresa (Account Manager, AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd). If we need a new RFP or new section built, that request goes to Joshana (Project Manager, AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd).
How did you come to work with AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd?
I was looking for a company that could do bespoke development. There aren’t similar products to ours that we could follow. I found AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd on Google. They were actually the first and only firm we spoke to because they came up with a great concept. More importantly, I really like the team and felt I could trust them to deliver a successful product.
How much have you invested with them?
The initial build was £25,000 (approximately $31,800 USD) and since then we’ve probably spent another £10,000 (approximately $13,000 USD).
What is the status of this engagement?
Work began in March 2017 and the engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The feedback we've had from our users is that it’s really simple and user-friendly. Teachers like the way the illustrations are embedded into the platform. The lessons are quite easy to deliver and understand. Primary school teachers aren’t allowed to use external websites. AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd embedded the audio and video resources on the platform without requiring the use of external sites such as YouTube. As a result, we've had a high uptake and we’ve seen over 75% of users returning to the platform.
How did AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd perform from a project management standpoint?
AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd has been working hard with us every step of the way. As our products and services evolve, they help us evolve the platform. If we need something new built into the system, we email Teresa. She's amazing. Within a few days, she'll come back to us with the next steps. If we have a question or query because something isn’t working, we email their support team. We’ll get an immediate response that they're looking into it. Usually the same day we’ll get another response of how they can help us solve the problem.
What did you find most impressive about them?
The quality of their work is second to none. AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd is so good at interpreting what we want to say and what we want our product to do. They really understood the brief and absolutely hit the target in terms of the design.
Are there any areas they could improve?
One of our frustrations was that their previous help system required us to wait and group small jobs together. They’re addressing that now by implementing a ticket system where we can send in any request as it comes up.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
They're good at leading projects, so trust in them and listen to their advice. They're always happy to speak to me if I ever need an immediate response.
Due to AVAMAE Software Solutions Ltd’s quality work, the client was able to launch their solution. They now provide ongoing support, helping the client grow their user base. The team has provided valuable advice so far. Their communication and transparency are appreciated.
