I own a mobile and web app development company.

What challenge were you trying to address with AV DEVS Solutions?

I needed support in building my mobile app.

What was the scope of their involvement?

I came to them with my requirements and they developed a mobile app available on iOS and Android devices that enables users to itemize customer requirements. They also used Laravel to develop a supporting web app that integrated with our existing systems. In addition to application interfaces on the website, they provided UX design and AWS backend development.

I acted as the product manager, and we had three developers assigned to our project.

How did you come to work with AV DEVS Solutions?

They were recommended to me by a colleague. I decided to work with them because they have a successful development team and good work ethic. They’ve never given me a reason to doubt them

How much have you invested with them?

We spent around $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We began working together in April 2016. The app is live now, but we still work together for maintenance and different projects.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We currently have 150 paying customers, the majority of who are local. We went through several iterations of the interface and the end product is really successful. There are no significant issues. Whenever the app does require minor fixes, they are responsive and address the issues within a reasonable timeframe.

How did AV DEVS Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?

They were very efficient. They established a point person that led our regular Skype meetings. We also used emails and Jira to communicate and track progress.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They are an extremely competitive boutique forum for small business mobile and web app development. They have a broad spectrum of development expertise, including iOS, Android, web, and UX design.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Everybody has something they can improve on, but nothing comes to mind as a hurdle or challenge we faced. As they find more business opportunities to grow and branch out, they’ll continue to do great work.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The only advice I would give is to be conscious of the time zone difference. They’re in India so there’s about a 12-hour time difference.

I’m the owner of a tech firm that specializes in database-oriented projects.

What challenge were you trying to address with Av Devs?

I had too much work and the market is such in Switzerland that it’s difficult to find employees.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We’ve worked on a number of web application development projects for pharmaceutical companies. The first project we worked on was a Laravel-based online training platform for medical doctors. We’ve worked on a few other small projects mostly using Laravel and sometimes vue.js on the frontend. The first project is live and another is close to going live.

When we started working together, I would do half of the development and they would do the other half. They would then manage all the software maintenance. About a year ago, they did some UI/UX work including usability and layout. The customers were happy with it so they’ve continued to do that.

Instead of me sending over lots of requirements, we work through a step-by-step process. We start with a general introduction of the project and then work issue by issue. I will send them three to four issues. They’ll review them, ask questions, and then start. I check the code, provide feedback, and we move on to the next issue.

What is the team composition?

I usually work with one or two full-time developers. I’ve also communicated with the head of the company but I generally work directly with the developers.

How did you come to work with Av Devs?

A friend of mine had worked with them and recommended them. I took his word for it and gave them a try.

How much have you invested with them?

We’ve spent between $25,000–$50,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2015 and it’s ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

My customers are usually happy, which is all that matters. A complicated project that’s been online for at least two years is running smoothly. We’ve never had any major downtime.

How did Av Devs perform from a project management standpoint?

I use Skype and Jira with the developers. We have a conversation almost every day. When we started working together, we used sprints but no longer do now that things are in maintenance. We take care of whatever comes up without a backlog. Things are fairly straightforward organizationally.

The value for money is hard to compare. Working with a company in Switzerland would have been easier but would be much more expensive.

What did you find most impressive about them?

To be honest, it’s the price.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I would say quality. Quality is critical, especially with these customers, and I sometimes wish they could focus more on it.

Their team is very fast and responsive.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Very little. I find communication a bit difficult sometimes, also because English is not my mother tongue.
