Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the CEO & co-founder of a surgical procedure software company.
What challenge were you trying to address with Artoon Solutions?
We were looking for website design and development support, initially. It has since evolved into software development support, as well.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Initially, they handled the redesign and publishing of our website. They helped develop a platform into a full-blown software, collaborating with our designer to make the mockups. Additionally, they’ve been able to turn my architecture into code for the most recent software we built, as well. They serve as our technical team, providing development and design expertise, maintenance and support. The SEO for our site is also worked on by their team.
What is the team composition?
Naresh (CTO) is my main point of contact. The team size varies, bringing in developers of different expertise throughout the projects as needed.
How did you come to work with Artoon Solutions?
We found them on Elance (now acquired by Upwork). I researched over 20 offshore service providers, but Naresh stood out as most capable and responsive with fewer errors.
How much have you invested with them?
We’ve spent around $400,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We began working together in 2015 and our engagement is ongoing.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
I don’t have specific metrics since it’s a collaboration, but our success couldn’t have happened without them. I’ve worked with more expensive vendors, but none delivered the type of work Artoon Solutions has. Previous vendors have commented on the quality of Naresh and his team.
How did Artoon Solutions perform from a project management standpoint?
In the beginning, there were some hiccups since we had never done anything like this before, but they’re exceptional. I’m blown away by their ability to understand the functionality as well as I do. They push back regularly on feature requests or changes I suggest, proactively working to avoid problems that could arise. They’re also very responsive to prioritizing work and are willing to put in extra hours on urgent tasks.
What did you find most impressive about them?
They’re extremely collaborative. It feels like they’re a part of my company and they care about the projects. They work like they’re a part of our organization.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No—they address problems immediately if they arise.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
If you are specific and descriptive in your communication, they’ll work hard to provide you with what you want. If you aren’t getting enough out of the collaboration with them, add more detail about what you’re looking for.
