A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the director of marketing at Wayfarer Insurance Group. I’m responsible for all the advertising and communication across the board. We specialize in insuring lifestyle products, including RVs, boats, and cottages.
What challenge were you trying to address with ArtBeat.Marketing?
Our business was a bunch of individual brokerages operating under an umbrella branch when we started the conversation with ArtBeat.Marketing. One of the brands was coming up on its 40th anniversary and needed a major refresh because there were issues with brand identity and had some conflicts in the marketplace. We considered that a major brand update would be very helpful.
What was the scope of their involvement?
ArtBeat.Marketing provided us first with logo and brand creation services. The staff made a commemorative version of the new logo and put together an ad campaign to go along with it. They came up with 4–5 creative ads for social media and used the original design and concept for print — magazines, newspapers, signage, etc.
The scope grew to include video production services. They handled all the pre-production, production, and post-production processes. Additionally, they also introduced a CRM for us.
What is the team composition?
We had 5–6 people from their team working on the branding design and research.
How did you come to work with ArtBeat.Marketing?
Other agencies our team had met had all the skills we needed, but we decided to go with ArtBeat.Marketing because Art (Creative Director) really seemed to understand what we were trying to accomplish. We met a few times for coffee, and we just clicked — it was a no-brainer decision.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested around $30,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement lasted from November 2017–December 2018. We plan to continue working with them on further projects.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
ArtBeat.Marketing work was phenomenal. I’ve done a lot of rebranding in my career, and the team understood the essence of our business and delivered a logo and a creative campaign that absolutely knocked it out of the park.
The staff stood out on the video production front as well. Some people aren’t natural in front of the camera, but ArtBeat.Marketing found ways to make them comfortable enough to shine and edited the footage so that they wouldn’t come across as completely stiff.
How did ArtBeat.Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated mostly by email. Art gave me a delivery schedule before I signed off the contract. We both were transparent and open in our communication; if some issue on their side or ours could cause a delay, we’d discuss it and find a solution.
We didn’t meet our initial deadlines, but not through any fault of theirs. We had internal issues making up our minds in terms of branding and logo design.
What did you find most impressive about them?
ArtBeat.Marketing’s team really made the effort to get the nuances of the project, goals, and tasks. I explained to them how people can react to different ideas, and they were mindful of that. The staff understood that they weren’t producing material just for the end consumer, but for us as well. We hit it off really well, and I plan to work with them in the near future.
Are there any areas they could improve?
I believe any aspect that could’ve been improved was on our end. I could’ve done a better job of giving Art a clear heads-up on certain people and challenges.
Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?
Our project took longer than intended because we tried to force our own opinions and ideas into it. The team's best work came when we didn't try to interfere with their creative process — trust them and let them do their job.

What is the team composition?
We worked with Art (Creative Director).
How did you come to work with ArtBeat.Marketing?
I was impressed with what they’d done for other companies. I also liked the general look of his portfolio, and I figured he could do something I’d be happy with. I reached out from there.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in February 2021, and we wrapped up in April 2021.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
Art brought his expertise to the table, which was educational and appreciated. He was especially well-versed in what worked color-wise. Everyone loves the designs.
How did ArtBeat.Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated via email and Zoom. He was very on point and patient. He gave me few options, rather than 100. Art really used his experience to drive home what I was looking for. He was a true guide, and I trusted him.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I really like his design look.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, Art was on point from day one. He was quick, professional, and understanding. I feel like I’ll have a long relationship with him.

My advice is to give Art a thorough overview in your initial Zoom meeting. I did that, and he was able to translate it into something artistic. I would suggest anyone do the same.

For what projects/services did your company hire ArtBeat.Marketing?
The first step we took as a new startup, was to create a brand that will reflect the values we cherish the most. It was very important for us to be able showcase the philosophy and nature of the business, its earth-friendly initiatives and vision through our brand and come up with something, including the design, forms, colour pallet and more, that is well aligned with the brand. The next step was to use that structure and create the online presence, including website and social media platforms to promote and position the brand.
What were your goals for this project?
- complete the branding process, including logo design, corporate identity, colour pallets - develop the concept for the website and the e-commerce side of it - complete the social media platforms - start the awareness campaign and introduce the brand and its products online Next Steps: - work on the products packaging - create advertising campaigns and promote the brand
How did you select ArtBeat.Marketing?
The most important aspect was the quality of work. Every sample was polished, well thought and perfectly put together. They also spent a lot of time understanding our needs, goals and vision. And finally they crafted something that was unique to us, not something pulled out of the shelf.
Describe the scope of their work in detail.
We started by a series of discovery calls. What we found quite impressive was that they were not trying to be pushy. Instead, they made it very clear that they wanted to make sure the MyCircle and ArtBeat Marketing are a great fit for one another. They made it very clear that they don't mind walking away if this partnership was not a great fit for both and I think that's exactly what everyone is looking for!
We also had a great exploratory session and an in-depth presentation where they presented a great deal of their though process and methodology that explained why they do what they do, which I found very impressive. After that we started outlining the scope of work and prioritizing and kept the creative dialogue since
What was the team composition?
Art is the creative director that oversees the creative process and has been the main point of contact. This has resulted in a very smooth communications process and I feel confident that what we discuss won't get lost in translation
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
This is a work in progress and we tend to to a lot more with ArtBeat Marketing. Thus far the details are available on our website mycircle.me and on our instagram https://www.instagram.com/mycircle.me/
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The communication has been a smooth process which is very helpful for a startup brand that could face a lot of abrupt changes and updates and there hasn't been any problems at all.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The creative and smart campaign concepts are fantastic. A very unique approach towards brand communications that is based on a mixture of human behaviour and creative design. The ad campaigns they are creating for us (to be launched soon) are simple, yet very thoughtful, smart and beautiful.
Are there any areas for improvement?

Data Visualization for Employment Equity Program at College
"His patience and commitment to understanding our needs were impressive."

A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m an advisor for human rights, equity, and diversity at Humber College. We’re the largest college in Ontario. As a human rights advisor, I perform investigations and I lead Humber College’s employment equity program.
What challenge were you trying to address with ArtBeat.Marketing?
When we reestablished the employment equity program, we had to perform a “current state analysis”. Essentially, we looked at employment equity data. We were analyzing the equity status of full-time employees at Humber—in Canada we have a law that mandates equal employment for groups like women, indigenous persons, persons with disabilities, and racialized persons.
We were relaunching the program. The focus was to look at full-time staff and create a survey that looked at how they identified themselves based on gender identity, race, sexual orientation, and disabilities. Once the survey was complete, we uploaded to a government database that compares the rates on a province and national level. From there, we needed to make a report and visually represent the data, which is why we needed ArtBeat.Marketing.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We needed a visual report of our data. First, we created a write-up and sent the data to ArtBeat.Marketing in a meeting. We gave them some overarching guidelines on what should and shouldn’t be in the report in regards to color scheme, corporate logos, and labeling. They came back with a mockup. I had to keep updating the content, but they were patient and continued to work with the project.
What is the team composition?
We worked with Art (Creative Director
How did you come to work with ArtBeat.Marketing?
I started Googling graphic design companies. I received responses, but some of the companies said they were too busy or wanted to delay the project. However, we had to get it done, and he expressed his availability over the phone. We were pleased based on the phone call.
What is the status of this engagement?
The project began in November 2019 and finished in January 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We were pleased with the work and we’ll be sending more work to him. Our style is very particular—it’s very important to use certain images and information that is appropriate or accessible. The response from the people who have seen the report has been overwhelmingly positive. Art made an electronic version and another version for print.
How did ArtBeat.Marketing perform from a project management standpoint?
We were pleased with their responsiveness and timeliness. He stuck to his timelines and always delivered before the deadline.
What did you find most impressive about them?
His patience and commitment to understanding our needs were impressive. We gave him flexibility with design, but he was very responsive to our feedback as well.
Are there any areas they could improve?
There’s nothing that comes to mind.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Have your material ready and be prepared to explain it. Ours was a statistical report that needed to be represented in a specific way. Make sure to take the time to answer and questions. Giving freedom in terms of visual design is also recommended.
