We had the idea to create a game for business owners and managers, but our team didn't have any experience making games. We hired this vendor to build this game for us. The goal was to develop a Swiss Watch business game.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The main steps were- development of documentation, coordination of technical specifications (structure and content of the game), design, tests, at the end there were some improvements. They created a business game where users can see their business situation. Users can create new vision of their business based on existing reality and control progress. First, their designers helped us create specific, precise cogwheel's design. Then, their developers created a game in Unity.

We worked with 6 people including, a project manager, 2 designers, 3 Unity developers. May be there were more involved specialists, who helped them.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
They developed game on time. They fulfilled all their obligations on time and some of them earlier than expected. Several creative ideas were proposed to us that expanded our vision of how this could be. During testing, we immediately were able to demonstrate the finished product in the professional community of European Coach Federtion, and we also carried out several projects in European countries in the field of selling of health equipment, banking.
Users highly appreciated the convenience and efficiency of this game.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
The project management was great. We felt support, loyalty, responsibility. In general, the team is focused on achieving the results. We communicated through Skype and e-mail.

Several high quality 3d assets were needed to complete a vertical cut of our project. For that we required an experienced contractor.

After finding samples of the vendor's work on artstation, we contacted them and worked out the details for our cooperation.

We discussed the artstyle and technical requirements for the art like polycount and required texture maps. For each piece, reference photos were provided and the venor created a model based on those. After discussing any desired tweaks to the models, they produced a retopologized version and textures.

The models they created for us were done fast and with very clean topology and great attention to detail - which is necessary for producing good animations later on.

Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our company works predominantly in software development. We develop video games and outsource our art and other kinds of work.
What challenge were you trying to address with Arrible?
We try to separate the art from the actual product. That way, the artist has more freedom to do their work. We chose Arrible to work as pixel artists.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We assign tasks to Arrible, and they primarily work on static pixel art before animation. For example, they’ve done a 2D character turnaround. We usually provide concept art, but sometimes it doesn’t look as good as we’d imagined, so we go into revision. After that, we do more turnaround work. They’ve also animated the main character.
We mainly use Unity for development. Right now, the game is for PC. Later on, we might be able to optimize it for mobile as well.
What is the team composition?
We have one point of contact. He’s one of the leaders at Arrible.
How did you come to work with Arrible?
We looked through different sources and found them through Upwork.
How much have you invested with them?
It’s roughly between $10,000–$15,000 for all the assets they’ve produced.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working in July 2019, and our engagement is ongoing. Right now, there’s less work because they’ve finished the majority of it, but they’re still creating assets.

Their work is of high quality. Also, they always respond if we need them to do something extra. Arrible picks up the work and gets it done; they’re right on top of it.

We are building a VR mechanical facilitation tool and have been working with Arrible to test different platforms and options to create our vision.

We searched on Upwork and after reviewing several Unity developers, decided that Arrible was best suited to support our endeavors.

Initially, we hoped to create a VR product on VR Chat, but unfortuantely the platform did not allow us to have all the features we'd hoped for. The team discussed alternate options with us, providing guidance, while also listening to our needs. In the end, we decided to create our product our own web application, giving us full reign to build as we'd like.
