Please describe your company and your position there.
Timberbush Tours are a tour operator offering 1-5 day tours of Scotland. I am the Business Development and Marketing Manager.
For what projects/services did your company hire Arms & Legs?
Timberbush hired Arms and Legs for our tour video project, alongside a logo for a 20th Anniversary campaign and various Social Media clips
What were your goals for this project?
To promote our tours, brand awareness, add more information to encourage customers to book
How did you select this vendor?
We had contact with one of the members of Arms and Legs through a previous company.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
Arms and Legs met with us to discuss the project in detail, we set out a daily plan for them to film content. They then did so, edited the video and sent these to us.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
We met before the project had started to discuss exactly what our requirements were. They then sent a quotation, and met with myself once filming was completed to discuss edits. They were on hand every step of the way if I had any issues at all.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We've had excellent feedback both internally and externally from customers about the video. We believe it has encouraged engagement on Social Media and encourages people to book through our website.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Excellent communication and a great team to work with. We still use Arms and Legs today for various projects and I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The communication and attention to detail. I didn't have to point out glaring errors that other companies can miss - they genuinely cared about the project and put a lot of effort into it.
Are there any areas for improvement?
None that I can think of. They're a great team and I would highly recommend them.

Please describe your company and your position there.
I am the Digital Communications Officer for the Royal Society of Edinburgh. We are Scotland's National Academy and are an educational charity that works closely with government, academic institutes, and enterprises for the benefit of Scotland and the wider-world, using the expertise of our Fellowship.
For what projects/services did your company hire Arms & Legs?
We initially hired Arms & Legs to accommodate some video work we were doing as part of our Women In Science In Scotland exhibition - an exhibition highlighting various women who operate in Scotland and are the leaders in their respective fields.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal for this project was to showcase the talent offered by Scotland within STEM fields and to promote the sciences to young women across the country.
How did you select this vendor?
My manager selected Arms & Legs as I believe she had worked with them previously.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
The videos were to take the form of a short interview and biography of each respective scientist. Arms & Legs came to our building and set up a pop-up studio across various dates, and we had each woman come in and film their piece. Arms & Legs then cut and edited the footage together to our specifications and added various motion graphics for added flare. They communicated clearly with us throughout the process and allowed us a lot of creative control.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
I didn't start working at the RSE until after the planning process was finished, but I was present for some of the filming and became the main liaison throughout the post-production process. From what I've been told Arms & Legs were very accommodating during script-creation (and with allowing the video subjects to improvise where necessary) and ensured everyone was comfortable throughout production. They offered regular drafts of the videos and took any feedback on board to create a polished finished product.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
The videos have made up a large part of our final exhibition, adding a high-quality, personalized dynamic edge to an otherwise static exhibit - they have now been shared widely online, many of the women featured (and the various organization who sponsor them) have also used them for promotional purposes. They have been on display throughout our building and have been seen by thousands of people who visited during our summer festival program. The exhibition has now been arranged to travel around the country at various venues and institutes.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Both Ross and Bartosz from Arms & Legs have been extremely easy to communicate with through any means, and have always been happy to visit in person should we need one-to-one meetings. File transfers have always gone smoothly and they've been happy to provide any additional assets should we need them.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The combination of their friendliness and professionalism blew us away. They carry all the enthusiasm and charm of a young start-up while delivering high-quality products you would expect from a veteran production company.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Everything can always be improved to some extent, but we've always been happy to work alongside Arms & Legs and been happy with the work delivered by them. Following our Women In Science In Scotland work we have also commissioned them for a number of other projects where this same standard of work has been delivered.

Event Organiser
For what projects/services did your company hire Arms & Legs?
Ross and Bartosz came to our event and produced, filmed and edited a promotional video for us.
What were your goals for this project?
To create a short and engaging cover video for social media.
How did you select this vendor?
Ross and Bartosz came highly recommended from industry colleagues.
Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.
Brief - to create a short promotional video for a Roller Disco event for use on social media. We initially met up in their office to discuss and exchange ideas ahead of the shoot. Ross & Bartosz already had some great ideas and examples in mind which we incorporated into the video. We discussed a number of key shots that could be central to the video and forward planned ahead of the event to make sure our requirements of both sides were catered for and R&B brought the right kit for the event.
On the night, Ross and Bartosz arrived early to set up and properly scope out the venue. Bartosz event filmed off a gimbal whilst on roller skates and as a result, many of the shots were superb. Ross edited the video that weekend and had the first draft ready for the Monday (which we didn't ask for but are greatly appreciative of!).
The first draft was far better than what we were expecting and with minor changes to a couple of titles we had the video out the following day. The video includes close up shots of Roller Dancers skate dancing taken from a low position. R&B intuitively made use of what was at their disposal and caught some amazing sweeping shots that would have been proved timely and difficult had they used a dolly.
What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?
Ross and Bartosz were involved from end to end and were highly professional every step of the way. Ross was our main point of contact and was upfront and honest about what was achievable within the time-frame. We received the finished product ahead of the due date.
Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?
We've had amazing feedback from customers and industry colleagues alike about the video. The facebook event went viral with over 1,000+ attendees with minimum social media sponsorship. This is unusually high for our city and an event of this size.
Ross and Bartosz also have great taste and are knowledgeable about music. In the initial planning stages, they presented some great options that would capture the mood and reach out to our target audience. In the end, we managed to get permission for a track we heard on national radio.
Ross was particularly helpful in advising us of how to obtain permission for the track and through his industry connections, we managed to obtain this free of charge. It was picked as one of the Hottest Tracks in the World by Annie Mac from Radio One a few weeks before, so couldn't have got a better result. Thanks.
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
Ross and Bartosz had a process set up in place that streamlined our workflows and avoided teething problems. As individuals, their friendliness, calmness and, communication made them very easy to work with and made the whole process hassle-free.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The finished product was far better than we envisaged Great communication from start to finish allowed creative input from both all parties and created a great working relationship from the get go. Fast turnaround.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Not on this project.
The videos have received positive attention from both internal and external stakeholders. In particular, clips posted to social media have spurred engagement. Arms & Legs’ detail-oriented working style differentiates them from competitors. They were collaborative and responsive to feedback.
