Could you share any results from this engagement?
We don't have hard metrics to share. I would say that the work and results they are able to deliver is on par with what we do internally, so that keeps us happy. We also admire their developers' dedication to the project. Their team has a very good appreciation of our timelines, deadlines, and deliverables. They're willing to work weekends and odd hours to make sure that they meet our deadlines.
How did Arcadia perform from a project management standpoint?
We are happy with Arcadia's performance. They manage themselves very well. We have an overall team manager from Arcadia who oversees their team. They provide us a team. They work with us, they get trained in our business, and they develop an understanding of what we do and why. We have a number of projects that they helped us with. As one project is winding down, there is usually another one that's winding up, so they get transferred from one project to another. This makes it very easy for us to work with Arcadia and integrate them into our internal team.
What distinguishes Arcadia from other providers?
I really like that Arcadia operates like a boutique development company. They provide high development and high-quality services. They don't try to do a lot of volume, but they do pay attention to quality.
They also take good care of their people. Their employees tend to stay with the company. That obviously works well for us, because we invest in training those people in our business, so we like to get more return on that training, and we do.
Are there areas in which they could improve, or things you might do differently?
I really don't have anything that I'm not happy with at this point, so it would be difficult for me to say. If I had to look hard for something, I would probably say that their English communication skills are uneven. The senior developers and executives really have good communication skills, and that is essential in the working relationships. The junior developers typically have a basic amount of English, but they're not as good as you would like them to be. Because they always work in pairs with the senior developers, that has not been an issue.
