As Product Owner I have been in a close contact with the team of Arateg. As a startup we are thinking ahead of time and create unprecedented revolutionizing products both for customers and business.

For this project, Arateg was hired as a professional for developing the mobile applications. The development includes mobile and tablet aplicatoons both for Android and iOS, and a web application as well. Arateg was hired for the complete frontend development.

What were your goals for this project?

We started the project from Zero. First goal was to develop a MVP as a proof of concept and then continue with the final product with the same team.

SOLUTION

How did you select Arateg?

Starting with a long list of development companies, we nailed it down to a few and after a RfP process, Arateg convinced us with a proven track record to pick them.

Describe the project in detail.

When we found Arateg, we had already our mockups. But Arateg showed us in the first weeks of alignment and preparation, that they got our vision and improved the mockups significantly. Creating mockups, detailed designs and implementing them in an agile manner is key for our project.

Arateg manages all steps in pre-aligned sprints. There is very little steer necessary from us, which gives us the freedom to focus on the business. We can rely on an excellent and stable build after each sprint. Their test team is doing a great job finding bugs, before we are able to discover them.

What was the team composition?

Arateg provided us a full set of skills, including Project Management, Developers, Testers and Designer. Key for our cooperation was, that each team member was committed and we encouraged everybody to get in touch with us directly to have a shorter communication channel.

It worked very well, because they always came to us with well thought questions which even helped us to improve our business. Not having a Business Analytic from Arateg, forced the Arateg team to understand the business as a whole and created the right mindset. In retrospective, this was the right decision.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Arategs team managed to deliver the MVP in time and expected quality. We are now already in the phase of 2.0 and are happy to continue working with Arateg.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Arateg team is very responsive. We can reach out to them at any time over Slack or Jira. We had never the feeling that we are not heard. The communication is superb. On the other side of the communication:

If Arateg discovers a blocker, they reach out to us directly and trigger us, if we do not respond (that was our request and they are handling it exactly this way). We never lost time due to communication.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

We really love, that Arateg could handle all the development even with the design and critical questions regarding the business rules and workflow. They didn't just implement things, as we told them. If they had a better solution, they always presented it to us upfront. And we are really thankful for that, because it saved a lot of resources.

Are there any areas for improvement?

We are completely happy with the quality of the deliverables. That's the reason why we will continue to work with Arateg.
