I’m the general manager at DBS Dandy Barber Shop Kft, a barbershop in Hungary.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appz4?

We needed a company to develop our website and mobile app. We had an existing mobile app that customers could use to book appointments, but it was useless.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, they developed our website, and then they developed our mobile app. We explained what we wanted for our mobile app and planned the whole system. Appz4 developed the app for iOS and Android. 

They built an appointment function for our guests to use within the app. The Appz4 team also developed a backend office platform that enables our team to manage appointments. Our barbers can use the backend administration function to view the reservation, administer service costs, and receive tips.

What is the team composition?

There was a project manager.

How did you come to work with Appz4?

One of the Appz4 teammates is a relative. I’d heard very good things about the company, and I knew of some of the products they’d developed.

How much have you invested with them?

My company spent between $10,000–$25,000.

We worked together from March 2018–April 2019.

I’m the chief business development officer for TMRW Hotels, a smart hotels software company. We sell solutions to any kind of lodging facilities.

What challenge were you trying to address with Appz4?

We wanted to solve the problem of guests having to wait to check-in and check-out. We felt there wasn’t a comprehensive, holistic, smart solution on the market for the hospitality sector. We wanted to grow out to be a huge system covering every single aspect of the guest journey, as well as helping hospitality professionals and hotel owners’ operational life.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

They did some market research for us in terms of the existing companies, existing solutions in the market, and existing solutions we’re connecting to today. They helped us to develop the scope, wireframes, and made suggestions in terms of the design.

They developed our Android and iOS app, with a corresponding web application. They did the front and backend. They helped us from ground zero to build the entire infrastructure of our system. They also helped us to understand what we should do to realize the business ideas we had.

What is the team composition?

There are four people working on the backend, a project manager, an iOS developer, an Android developer, a frontend developer, and a web developer.

How did you come to work with Appz4?

We chose them because they were willing to come up with something brand new in the market.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in April 2017, and our engagement is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

We are very satisfied with the quality we received from them. Any bugs and issues were taken care of. We’re extremely happy and satisfied with the work they provided, which is why we’re still working with them.

How did Appz4 perform from a project management standpoint?

It was a smooth relationship from the start because of their past experience. They contributed with a very effective and positive attitude. They always brought up new ideas and evaluated the ideas for clarity. They always told us where to pay attention from an IT point of view. Their customer service is very productive, fast, and precise. Whenever we had any issues, they were approachable and available even after hours and on the weekend. They treated us like we were their number one project. They really take care of their clientele.

The milestones and deadlines were met 99% of the time. Nothing can be kept 100% because there are so many factors that have to be taken into account because we changed the direction we wanted to go along the way. We communicate via conference calls, private meetings, emails, and Skype calls and video conference calls.

Compared to other companies in the market, cost-wise, project management-wise, customer relationship-wise, they are by far the best.

No, I’m satisfied with everything.

The project started in July 2018, and it was completed in September 2018.
