The Propheto platform was chosen to be the core of the monitoring system. Developed by Applied Systems, this platform provides the data transmission capacity and services necessary for storing, visualizing and analyzing data. Communication with the core of the Propheto platform is enabled by WCF that ensures the system is distributed and parallel monitoring is available for the shaft operator and the maintenance crew. The
software visualizes complex plots and renders tens of thousands of points with the 2 Hz frequency. The GUI is integrated with such services of the Propheto platform as the alarm handling system, access control system, analytic report generator and more. Implementing the test automation framework based on Octopus has increased the efficiency of the customer’s software testing process. In particular, it helps reuse tests disregarding their physical location and synchronize them both on the customer and developer side. As a result, the quality and reliability of the customer’s products have improved since it became possible to execute more tests and configure more environments.

Gas management system for automotive testbeds

We have developed a centralized solution including server, client-server application, graphical user interface. The operators can monitor the gas-supply system both from the desktop (Windows 7, 10; Google Chrome) and from mobile devices: smartphone, tablet (Android, iOS). User-friendly GUI allows personnel to quickly respond to emergencies, effectively control a large number of critical indicators.


• Monitoring of pressure and fill level of different calibration gases in gas bottles;
• Tracking of the expiration date and the predicted operating time of gas cylinders;
• Notification settings: pressure deviation, expiration date, remaining gas volume;
• Automatic sending of warning notifications when tracked indicators deviate from the established limits;
• Automatic gas line purging;
• Gas bottle locking/unlocking;
• Automatic registration of a new gas bottle in the system by scanning a QR code or PDF file received from the gas cylinder manufacturer;

    One of the key innovations was the implementation of automatically generated gas-flow diagrams. UI (user interface) panels represent dynamic schemes of the controlled equipment (e.g. valves or pumps.) with "live" control elements, reflecting the current state of gas flows and equipment and allowing to change this state by several clicks.

    Medical gas monitoring system Image

    Medical gas monitoring system

    We agreed the architecture of the IoT system based on open source instruments for data acquisition, storage and visualization. The implementation took about 2 months.

    The system includes back-end, front-end, and embedded software for the edge devices. Our solution allows the customer to collect and display data from up to 500 controllers with a frequency of 10-100 Hz. Each edge device supports a connection to 32 sensors.

    Received data is stored in the database for future analysis (retention period 1 year).

    System operators and repair teams connect to the system at a time using a PC or mobile phone. Communication is provided by two channels (fixed line and GSM) for system reliability. In case of problems with a fixed line, the data is sent via GSM channel.

    Our IoT solution ensures a secure connection of gas monitor devices to central supervision system, which enables collection of all data (including alarm messages) from medical gas pipeline equipment and distribution of this information to the relevant specialists and organizations.

    Data visualization and analytics tool to provide advanced insights based on the abundance of measurement data collected from multiple devices.

    The customer`s system designed to control complex equipment generating a vast amount of data. The trend viewer allows users to analyze real-time and historical data from hundreds of measuring channels with high dataflow rate (frequency up to 10000 Hz).
    The component was

    implemented as an ActiveX control using the C++ according to the customer requirements.
    We paid special attention to usability because convenient visualization allows to minimize the time required for performance monitoring and malfunction diagnostics.

    Applied Systems developed a browser app that meets the customer’s requirements:

    • Visualization accuracy (better visualization of actual position on the prescribed speed profile, tolerance bands, essential data about the test such as the test phase, actual speed, the number of speed violations, alarms, etc.);
    • High refresh rate to make the speed

    profile curve clear and smooth;
    • No delays exceeding 1/10 of a second in the refresh rate.


    The solution provides the driver with a graphical display of scheduled speed during testing.

    Automated Calibration Software for Emission Test Systems

    The automated calibration system has enabled the customer to perform all calibration and check operations in an easy and natural way. For example, the customer doesn’t have to deal with entering parameters or saving data – the automated calibration system takes care of it.

    Calibration automation software has a significant impact on speeding up measurement

    equipment certification and minimizing costs. Now the average annual parameters of one automated gas measurement line equal:

    • 500 calibration operations;
    • 250 hours of calibration;
    • 80 types of checking and calibration operations;
    • 1,000 pages of reports.

    Scheduling checks has made it possible to run them at any time, even by night. On the whole, calibration downtime has been reduced to just a few hours. Reports are quickly generated according to the standards and safely archived in a database: it is possible to restore them at any time or export into another database.
