Introduce your business and what you do there.
Our organization is called Monkeysphere. It is an app that reminds users to call people who’re most close to them instead of just resorting to a simple text, a Facebook like, or a tag. I’m the president and founder of the company.
What challenge were you trying to address with The APPINEERS?
I needed someone to help me develop the application. I had the idea but not the knowledge to build it myself.
What was the scope of their involvement?
I don’t remember the particular tools APPINEERS used to develop my app, but they built it for both iOS and Android.
What is the team composition?
I worked with 4–5 people from start to finish. This included Katie (Project Manager), Prafulla (App Developer), and Tiffany (Lead Graphic Designer). I also interfaced with a salesperson when I first started talking to APPINEERS.
How did you come to work with The APPINEERS?
I had given up on finding agencies because getting an app developed was really expensive. However, I came across APPINEERS after looking for suggestions on Facebook. I found that they could do everything I needed for a significantly lower price, so I decided to push through with the partnership.
How much have you invested with them?
We invested about $65,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started the engagement around January 2020. The development has been wrapped up, and we’re now working on transferring the app fully to our company.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
The final product is exactly how I imagined it to be, and APPINEERS helped us successfully get it off the ground and launch it on app stores. They listened to and understood my vision really well, eventually making it a reality.
We encountered some bugs during beta testing, but they were able to identify and fix those in time for our release. We also had a bit of trouble with Google as we were getting denied on the technicalities of our category, but we were able to rectify it alongside a lawyer. Their team stayed with us through it and really tried to support us as we got this glitch resolved.
How did The APPINEERS perform from a project management standpoint?
They did great. They communicated with me constantly through email and stuck it out despite the challenges we faced with the app. We used Basecamp for the entirety of the development.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I was really impressed by how they were able to do everything at a lower price. I appreciate that they met me at my level seeing as we don’t have the same budget as other bigger companies.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, not really. There were unexpected bumps in the road, but APPINEERS tackled each one.

If you have an app in mind that you want developed, get in touch with APPINEERS. They do a great job at a considerably lower price.
