I work as the Sales Director for a Norwegian company. The owner of the company has a broad ski background and challenged me to find a development company that could make his ideas come true.

The services that we hired The App Ideas, was for first logo and design of a unique ski app. This is an ongoing project. The goal is to make an app for both IOS and Android.

What were your goals for this project?

The goals with the project is to make the prefered SKI app for the global market. As the owner of the company sees it, there is a gap in the app market for this unique ski app. We hope to have 1 million downloads within a period of 2 years.

Due to confidensiality and based on the app is still in an ongoing development phase i applogize for not being able to share all details. But the key is to get a better ski experience when having and using the Ski App, regarldess of age and where in the world you are.

What was the team composition?

From our side we are to people involved and from the vendors part, first they were two and now we are working with different people in the team based on the task to be solved. At all times the founders is our contact person. This gives excellent workflow and understanding.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

After a few days prior from sharing the ideas about the APP and paying the start up agreed upon cost, The App Ideas made a very nice presentation of all the pages in the APP using video. This way we could see the presentation many times, and see how it will all work. It made and makes our work from the customer side, much much easier and better.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The last years I have worked with different development companies across the globe, and I have never experienced a faster delivere than The App Ideas has delivered. I have allready recomended the company to other people.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

They put service, quality on delivery and speed on delivery to the best level as possible.

Are there any areas for improvement?

At this movement we have not seen any needs for any improvements. The company has handled excellent the difference in time zones, and the payment terms have always worked.

They gave us more than we expected. The quality of their work is second to none. Quick response to every query we raised during the project itself then this level of support continued even after commissioning the project. The have the most appropriate and professional customer service model that makes you want to come back to them for more projects - we have already started feasibility study for our second project with them. The costs are always low to compare to the other vendors and surprisingly with a very high quality work delivery, and always beats the deadlines.

Very effective project management methodology - makes feel you are part of every step of the way because you are carried along.

I am a consultant and a cofounder of a software consulting firm based out of California. We primarily work with startups and small size businesses to create Web and Mobile Applications for them. We also consult in the areas of SEO and Social Media Marketing.

We wanted to have our prototypes completed and create the codebase for our application. We were also looking for a vendor who can guide us with marketing efforts.

Once we selected App Ideas as our vendor, we had a series of audio and video interviews with the founder as well as key technical teams. They performed initial requirements gathering and provided us with a detailed estimate of the project within less than a week. After we decided upon our approach, the prototypes were created by the firm within few weeks. They made necessary tweaks in the design without hesitation for more than a month as per our changing requirements. As of now, the development is underway. However, they release a new build every week for us to test with. This help us reiterate the design on an ongoing basis.

Our only point of contact was the founder of The App Ideas. However, the project is being handled by a designated project manager and a development lead. Apart from them, to my knowledge, there are two backend developers and a designated QA team assigned to our project.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

A detailed project proposal with all nitty-gritty was shared within less than a week. Prototypes and designs were revised as many times we wanted before the development began. The first version with some basic features were released for testing with the first week of development.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

Weekly builds provided by the project manager assigned to our project were very effective. Apart from that, the founder kept in touch with our team on a continuous on-call basis. He was always available regardless of the time on the clock.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

The fact that the company has real testimonials from actual clients and an abundance of software built under its portfolio were very impressive for us to start with. Apart from this, the founder communicated extremely well with our team regarding every detail of the project. They added more value to the project by adding additional functionalities to the app at no additional cost to us.

Are there any areas for improvement?

There is nothing we can say that's been left out. The overall project execution has been excellent so far.

I am a postgraduate research scholar conducting computer simulation of blood flow for patients treated with stent to unclog the blocked arteries. I've also founded the medical startup Triphastic.

The goals for this project was to provide a simple user interface so that measurement data taken from ultrasound scanner and blood pressure data taken from Ankle Brachial Index measurements can be entered by the users into the smart phone to enable the app to perform calculation and provide prediction and proposed screening outcome.

Peak Systolic Velocity Predictor app specifications:

1. Introduction: Peak Systolic Velocity (PSV) Predictor is an app for use as a clinical screening tool for patients who have undergone endovascular treatment with Covered Endovascular Reconstruction of Aortoiliac Bifurcation (CERAB) stents. This app will take geometric dimensions and blood flow velocities from ultrasound scanning as well as Ankle Brachial Index readings as input. The app will calculate the predicted maximum velocity and together with the ultrasound measured maximum velocity, it will determine whether the readings are falling inside or outside of acceptable range and deemed to be “Normal” or “Abnormal.”

User will have two options to enter the PSVmax data. a) Manually type in the value, the app will adjust to one decimal point b) Pull down menu bar with default 1 m/s and increment or decrement of 0.1m/s in the scroll box minimum 0.5 m/s and maximum 5.0 m/s

For input data in section 3, All systolic pressure data: 90..250mmHg User will have two options to enter Systolic Pressure data. a) Manually type in the value, the app will adjust to zero decimal point b) Pull down menu bar with default 120 mmHg and increment or decrement of 1mmHg in the scroll box minimum 90 mmHg and maximum 250mmHg

For option 1, the app will display error message if any user data entered falls outside the range and the app will prompt the user to re-enter the correct data. Please format all input data to one decimal point for section 2 diameter and velocity data and zero decimal for section 3 systolic pressure data.

For output, please make the data point i.e. measured PSV on x-axis and predicted PSV on y-axis blinks on the graph. Likewise the word “Normal” flashes on the screen if the data point fall inside the error zone and “Abnormal” flashes if outside the zone followed by “Computed Tomography Angiography (CTA) Recommended!”.

I was the point of contact at this end and Chirag was the point contact at TheAppIdeas where coordinate with his developers regarding my requests.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Within a week, both the Android and IOS apps were completed and beta tested off-line. The apps were then officially published at Google Play Store and Apple AppStore in the second week.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The communication and workflow at The App Ideas were excellent, and everything worked out as planned.

What did you find most impressive about this company?

Great communication and timely execution of requested tasks.

Are there any areas for improvement?

Nothing I can think of.

I'm the founder of Tree House Learning, which is a forest school located in London.

What challenge were you trying to address with The App Ideas?

Our website had been hacked. The hackers took over some of the links and redirected them to other sites. The website obviously needed to be made secure, and to be restored to the way it was.

What was the scope of their involvement? 

The App Ideas supported me to get an SSL certificate and then apply it to the site. I used the Wayback Machine internet archive to show them what the site used to look like last year. Then they did some WordPress development work to reinstate the pages as they were, and removed the links that were made by the hackers to outside sites.  

What is the team composition? 

I started talking to a business consultant. Once the project began, Chirag (CEO, The App Ideas) was my sole point of contact. 

How did you come to work with The App Ideas? 

They reached out to me on LinkedIn and I decided to take a chance on them. At this stage, my requirements were relatively minor. This was a good test of their skills and to see whether they would stick to their word. Plus, they agreed on a low fee.

How much have you invested with them?

I only spent £100 (approximately $125 USD). 

What is the status of this engagement? 

The work was done over the first week of July 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

The App Ideas gave me exactly what I wanted. They delivered everything on time and to our specifications. I knew what the site used to look like, so there was no subjectivity with the ask. They effectively delivered the site in exactly the same form that it used to be, with the addition of the SSL certificate and all of the proper links restored. 

How did The App Ideas perform from a project management standpoint? 

It wasn’t a big project but The App Ideas did a good job. We had an opening Skype chat to talk through the project, which was relatively short and sweet. Chirag used WhatsApp to communicate with me throughout the project. It was quite simple because I wasn't trying to communicate a new design, which might have been a harder task. I was able to show them a picture of how the site used to look, and they returned it to that version. 

What did you find most impressive about them? 

The speed with which they completed the project was impressive. Also, it's always great to not spend a lot of money. There was one point in the project where they thought they had finished but they hadn't. I pointed that out to them, and The App Ideas was quick to rectify the situation. Even if our expectations weren't aligned, they default to “the customer is always right.” They completed the project and didn't charge me any more money. They've given me the confidence now to invest with them over additional projects. 

Are there any areas they could improve? 

It's always tricky when you're dealing with an offshore team. The App Ideas didn’t sign a contract with me for this project. While that’s fine for a project of this size, there's a level of professionalism that would be required for larger projects. Clients are going to want the confidence of a contract if they're spending $1,000 or $10,000 or $100,000. They should consider tweaking their engagement methodology to be less relaxed.

Do you have any advice for potential customers? 

My experience so far has been very good, so my advice is to build a relationship. You can feel confident that their work is precise. However, I've not yet given them anything particularly complicated so I don't know the full spectrum of their abilities. Certainly, they have the skills to handle a simple WordPress design.

Since we are in an absolute startup mode, the entire process had many iterations from our side, a lot of scope creep, and on-the-go changes. This team is like none other. They gave us a professional site that's in fact very easy to update. My team had never worked with WordPress before, so they took time to teach and guide us how to update the contents ourselves & they were always present and used a proactive approach if we ever faced any issues. 

And yes the project manager we dealt with was super quick & very easy to approach & always ready with a solution.

When we first launched, there were some minor bugs in contact form page. We informed them about it and they were quick enough to fix the issue.
