We’re a software and services company focused on the telecom and media industry. We’re well-known for the billing and CRM systems that we produce, but we do much more, including network software products. I’m the product marketing manager for one of our lines of business, namely open network products.

What challenge were you trying to address with AnKa | Video & Animation?

We went to AnKa to help with video production for multiple short promotional videos.

What was the scope of their involvement?

They’ve produced five videos for us over the last two years, three of which were animated. Sometimes, we came to them with an idea of what we wanted the final product to look like. However, for two videos we went to them with nothing specific in mind. They worked with us to brainstorm. They helped us with consulting regarding how the script should be constructed, what themes the video should include, and whether it should be animated or filmed.

They helped write the script for one of the videos, and then we did a few rounds of correction and review. 

What is the team composition?

We worked with a team of 1–2 people. We worked with Ania (Owner and CEO), who usually led our bigger projects. She helped with the ideation and monitored the creation of the visuals. We had a program manager, who was in daily touch with us, sent us detailed plans in the beginning, and followed up with us if we were late in delivering something. They have a few designers and animators working in the background as well, but I didn’t have any direct contact with them.

How did you come to work with AnKa | Video & Animation?

I learned about them from my manager, who’d used their services before. She introduced AnKa to me on the first video I worked with her on, and we created a relationship from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We invested between $50,000–$55,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

I started working with AnKa in early 2018.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I kept coming back to AnKa because I had a really good experience. The product managers and senior managers of our company have been enthusiastic about the videos. Everyone’s liked them.

The process of working with AnKa is very smooth. They’re very understanding and patient, and they won’t start a project until they feel the plan is fully fleshed out. They’re professional in terms of design, project management, and business approach. It’s like working with a partner. They won’t give up until everything is exactly how I want it.

How did AnKa | Video & Animation perform from a project management standpoint?

When working with them, we establish a plan at the beginning. We’re in touch every 2–3 days via email, and we have phone calls after major milestones. They’ve been available for a short discussion whenever I needed to call them.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I think AnKa is very professional. They have a can-do approach which they project throughout our projects. I only have good things to say about AnKa. I’ve worked with them for two and a half years, and I’ll continue working with them on future videos. They’re doing a great job.

Are there any areas they could improve?

Their competitive edge is in the animated video arena. I haven’t seen extraordinary capabilities in other formats. They could become more competitive in other video formats as well.

Do you have any advice for future clients of theirs?

Clients should go to them knowing their product and what they want to say, and keep an open mind. AnKa has a lot of ideas, they can explain themselves, and they’ll provide a graphic layout for every idea, for the customer to choose from.

Describe the video(s) and the process in detail.

I created the script, and the studio suggested some options for the written content. then they provided a storyboard which we worked on together.

What was your vendors' project management or feedback process?

I worked with a project manager which sent me all the relevant updates . for example, soundtrack samples, narrators, etc.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

the studio is super professional and very creative ! they know how to take a very technical text and turn it into an abstracted story.
