Homedot - Connecting Homeowners and Buyers
A client from the UK approached us with his idea for an innovative real estate app. Based on the designs provided, we developed a solution that helps to connect potential home buyers with homeowners before homes are put on the market.
The user can pin (literally put a dot - homedot!) streets they’re interested in a get notified when there’s a home on sale there. From the homeowner’s perspective, the user can add their home on sale and get notified when buyers add new dots in the same area. Both buyers and homeowners can get in touch with one another and chat about a possible transaction.
The app has been developed for both Android and iOS platforms.
If you're interested in more details about the app, see the full case study here: https://angrynerds.co/projects/homedot-disruptive-real-estate-app/

Cats and Dogs - The Weather App
A London-based creative agency Fishfinger trusted us with a brilliant idea for a weather app with a twist. They provided the designs and animations and we did the coding - the result is the Cats and Dogs: The Weather App!
It's a gamified weather app with a virtual pet feature, available for iOS devices. As a user, you will get a complete and reliable weather forecast and a furry companion to take care of. Your main task will be dressing your pup or kitty appropriately for the current weather. Correct outfits will give you rewards and unlock bonuses!
It's undoubtedly the cutest weather app in the Universe - and a user-friendly everyday tool.
If you're interested in more details about the app, see the full case study here: https://angrynerds.co/projects/cats-and-dogs-the-weather-app/

Uber-like mobile application
We were commissioned to design and develop an Uber-like app for a specific market. The project is under a strict NDA agreement.
Apart from typical features, such as requesting a ride from one place to another, pinning your pickup location or browsing available drivers and estimated arrival times, the user can choose a taxi mode - without indicating the final destination - or a special monitored ride for children, when the parent can request to observe the whole ride online via a camera.
The solution had to be approved by the state power to ensure safety of the whole system. There’s also an extensive in-app payment solution that meets all the required standards. The mobile application is accompanied by a web platform - an admin panel to manage drivers.

FastAuth - Automating Prior Authorization
Supporting an innovative healthcare IT startup, we built a comprehensive platform for the automation of the prior authorization process.
Based on the client’s requirements, we designed the architecture of the whole solution and started with the development of a demo, so we could quickly launch the pilot version of the product with early adopters. Our collaboration is ongoing, so right now we’re focused on the development a more scalable solution as we onboard the initial customers.

ERP platform for manufacturing industry
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is a system that allows an integrated and usually real-time management of an organization’s main business processes. A US-based client from a manufacturing industry asked us to rewrite and globally improve an ERP platform they currently use to organize their production process. We prepared a brand new version of the web application with advanced functionalities to effectively manage each stage of the production.
The solution has been designed as a crash-proof, large-scale system. It has been written in .NET Core and Angular. The use of Kubernetes allows an elastic deployment to Azure Cloud.

NeoTaste - Deals for Foodies
Discover great food and new venues around your city - that’s the general idea behind NeoTaste, a promising German startup. The mobile application is a gateway to special deals and bonuses offered by restaurants (bars, cafes, pubs, etc.). The user can browse through the deals offered by different venues and book the one they’re interested in.
Apart from a mobile app, a major part of a solution is also a web platform for restaurants. Thanks to a comprehensive admin panel, restaurant owners can easily manage deals on offer and get valuable analytical information they can later use to reach out to new customers.
The mobile solution for Android and iOS was developed respectively with Kotlin and Swift, and the web platform was created with Angular and .NET. For the online payments integration, we used Mollie – a powerful library that manages all types of payments – PayPal, bank transfer, credit card, and above all Klarna, which was a key requirement from the client.
If you're interested in more details about the app, see the full case study here: https://angrynerds.co/projects/neotaste/

Pasibus - Tasty Website and Mobile App
How to create an app that offers much more than just static and boring content? This is one of our favorites since we are not only the creators but also true addicts when it comes to Pasibus' burgers!
Pasibus also needed a new website that could match their outstanding growth rate. They asked us to propose a complete solution that would fit their needs now and at the same time be extendable in the future.
We designed and implemented a CMS based multi-page website with a structure that finally matches all their needs. The Pasibus crew can easily and intuitively manage all their menu information, locations, news items and other content. We've also added a social media section, combining Facebook, Instagram and Youtube activities in one page of updates.
The mobile app is also managed directly in Umbraco (CMS). Pasibus members can control every aspect of the content and adjust the app behavior without re-submitting it to the App Store and Google Play.

Scale Up Support for Consultation Firm

Please describe your company and your position there.
I represent two companies. The first business is called HiCohesion, and that’s an integration platform built for e-commerce brands. Another company is E-commerce Thinking which is a consultancy and programmes solutions e-commerce business.
We support businesses, particularly retails in the development of tech stacks. We started the business back in 2020, and we started to grow very significantly in 2021. That’s when we got in touch and started a relationship with Angry Nerds, as our resourcing requirements increased. I am the Chairman of the business. I am also the People Lead for the two businesses.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds?
All the work that Angry Nerds conducted was for the E-Commerce Thinking side of the business. We were taking on technical development projects with new clients. As their requirements grew, we needed development engineers to manage and work on specific projects.
They were not necessarily long-term, but one or two-month sort of basis of completion of the project. We deployed Angry Nerds to support us on a couple of the biggest projects. There were also smaller projects in which Angry Nerds were involved.
How did you select this agency and what were the deciding factors?
Towards the end of November 2020, it became clear that we needed the support of a reliable partner, particularly in our PHP development needs. One of our Project Managers identified Angry Nerds as a possibility. I was involved in the selection process and the building of the partnership from this point onwards.
Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.
The work conducted by Angry Nerds and our team consisted in integrating online stores with other systems to enable easy and automated data transfer. We worked in PHP (Laravel framework). Each integration required an individual approach. Before starting the work, we had to develop a plan of action to detect as many problems as possible that we might encounter.
Once the integration was created, the challenge was to implement it on stores operating in production. We couldn't afford to make mistakes in a production environment where customers are buying different goods. In most cases, everything worked as intended.
Describe the recruitment process in detail.
We started slowly and then built up rapidly. At first, we probably had 40 hours of resources from Angry Nerds. That grew up to 400 hours a month. The team composition depended on the scale and size of projects.
Typically we needed development specialists, but eventually, we got to the stage where we also needed project management skills. We were working in mixed teams with our people and Angry Nerds.
Can you share any outcomes from the engagement that demonstrate progress or success?
Angry Nerds were very diligent, worked well with the brief they were given. It is always more difficult when you work remotely and not face to face, but it worked particularly well
How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?
That has been a particular strength as the level of understanding and communication between Angry Nerds and our teams were excellent. There was a real trust relationship built in a short time. Not only engineers, but also Angry Nerds management wanted to understand our business. I think it was just as much as we wanted to understand their work. The communication between us was really good.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
First and foremost, the desire to mutually understand each other. Angry Nerds tried to understand us and almost became a part of our team. We even included them in our social events. They were just like our employees. And it worked well.
Also, I think the flexibility the Angry Nerds were able to give us, scaling up and scaling down resources very quickly, was a real strength. Of course, we had to pay for that, but the price we paid versus the value ratio was very acceptable to us, and both parties gained. It was a win-win.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The only thing and very small is how we record time spent and how that is coordinated between their systems and our systems. Sometimes it became a bit messy. Angry Nerds used different metrics, we were using another, and sometimes we had to discuss on that. Other than that, we had no complaints whatsoever. The team from Angry Nerds did a great job on every stage of work.

iOS App & Platform Audit for Micro-Learning Solutions Firm

Please describe your company and your position there.
Unifractal is a Norwegian-based micro-learning solution that allows users to quickly access useful information about complex devices in common workspaces. I'm a co-founder and Product Manager at Unifractal and the review was conducted with Simen, another co-founder and our CTO.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds, and what were your goals?
Our development team is very small and specializes in web and backend development, so we needed a partner who can handle the mobile development part. We also needed some UX/UI design consultancy for our platform. Angry Nerds provided both mobile developers that built our iOS app and a design team that conducted a UX audit.
For the current phase of the project, our goal was to deploy the mobile application, which is an important step for us in our long-term growth plan. Right now, we focus on the local market, but we would like to grow our business and reach a wider, international audience. To do that, we need to expand our development team, and it’s not easy to find the right developers in Norway that will also fit our budget. That’s why we decided to go for a more flexible option and find a remote team like Angry Nerds, to help us scale our business even at these early stages.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
One of our Product Managers has been working with Angry Nerds on a project before and he had a good experience with their team, so we followed his recommendation. We’re very happy with this choice!
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Angry Nerds provided comprehensive iOS development services, from building our mobile app to deploying it and publishing it in App Store. They also did a UX audit of our platform, with a complex report pointing out errors of different levels, and precise recommendations on how to improve the solution. As our cooperation is ongoing, we are currently planning the next phases that will be also focused on mobile development.
How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
On our side, there are 3 people in the web/back-end development team and from the Angry Nerds side, there are 2 iOS developers and a Project Manager. For the UX audit phase, there was also a UX/UI designer from Angry Nerds on the team.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
As the goal for this phase was deploying the mobile app, we can say it was fully accomplished – the app is available to the users and is working very well. We already got some very encouraging feedback from our customers, so we're looking forward to where the next stages of the project will take us.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
Even though Angry Nerds use different software to manage projects and organize the workflow than we do (MS Teams + Azure DevOps + Figma on their side VS Jira + AdobeXd on ours), we managed to find a way to make it work without changing the toolset. We share documents where we describe what is planned for a certain phase and Angry Nerds convert it into tasks in their internal tools.
We also have access to them, so we can e.g. leave comments on certain tasks and monitor the workflow. If there are any questions from Angry Nerds’ development team, they can get in touch with us directly via Slack or also leave a comment in the task. In overall, the communication is very efficient and works well.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
We really appreciate it that whenever we have any questions, there are always people on the Angry Nerds team ready to answer them. They’re very professional, and we’re satisfied with the collaboration.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
It's hard to find anything, honestly. Maybe a minor thing about scheduling – sometimes there’s no exact deadline for a task/issue they’re working on – of course, it's more or less estimated, so we know what to expect, but a precise deadline would be required in some cases.
Everything’s on time so far, so it’s just a communication thing and it doesn’t really affect the workflow. We also believe it will naturally evolve as our collaboration continues and the project requirements expand.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We’re a startup founded by two BASF employees and supported by BASF incubator. Our team has built a software that automatically and scalably improves customer satisfaction by collecting relevant data along the customer journey, analyzing it, and taking automatic action based on the results of the analysis. I’m the Co-Founder of the venture.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds, and what were your goals?
We hired Angry Nerds for an end-to-end development of a SaaS solution. It’s a full package – from UX/UI design, through development of the system’s technical infrastructure, to front-end and back-end development and quality assurance. The goals evolved with time, as the project was divided into a few phases.
In the beginning, we had a semi-manual proof-of-concept of one of the system’s modules, so the goal was to build an MVP that fully automates the module. Later, we focused on the development of other key modules, so we could get a functioning version of the software as fast as possible and use it for system demos with initial customers.
The final goal was to build the fully-fledged platform, with all required features, ready to be rolled out to a wide audience.
How did you select this vendor and what were the deciding factors?
We set up a procurement process that consisted of several steps. First, we contacted a few providers we already knew or we found via online research and arranged an initial call to present the project requirements. We asked each provider to prepare a technical, financial and timeline proposal. After we reviewed the proposals, we arranged another call, so the providers could introduce some team members that would work on the project and explain their proposal in a detailed way.
Based on what we learned during the process, we evaluated the providers and Angry Nerds turned out to be the best choice – they had the exact competencies we needed and also relevant experience with SaaS, so we decided to build our system with them.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
At the beginning, we had a semi-manual prototype we made ourselves, so the first thing Angry Nerds did for us was to turn the basic prototype into an MVP that we could use to validate the idea with our customers and verify the product-market fit. Next, we started working on the fully-fledged system.
Angry Nerds helped us to decide on the system architecture and choose the technology stack for the project. We received complete documentation with system architecture design and we could review it to decide if it’s the right direction. After agreeing on that, UX/UI designers, front-end and back-end developers began to build the product.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
From the beginning there was a dedicated Project Manager on the Angry Nerds side. In the first phase, we worked mostly with their software architects and designers. Later, the team consisted of front-end and back-end developers and a quality assurance specialist, with a designer available when necessary.
Additionally, Angry Nerds’s technical office participated in discussions about system infrastructure, automated deployment, etc. We were very satisfied with the team. They were proactive, suggested improvements, and we could see that they treat our product like it was their own.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Right now, the software is ready to use for a wide audience, not only early adopters, so we can definitely say the collaboration with Angry Nerds was successful. The system is fully functioning, has all the necessary features and two main modules available. There's also an onboarding process for new customers. We hope that we’ll be able to expand the system in the future, based on requests from our customers.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timeliness.
The team works in sprints, we have regular calls and demos and the communication is generally very good. The project was structured into phases that were aligned with the milestones we set ourselves internally. In the beginning, there were some slips on the timeline and communication misunderstandings, which finally led to a delay in finishing the first phase. We shared our concerns about it with the team and we’ve seen serious improvement over the next couple of months - the following phases of the project have been completed in a timely manner and the communication flow was much better.
We’d like to really highlight that Angry Nerds team showed a great attitude towards our feedback and took their time to fix all the workflow issues. We know we’ve been heard, so despite the delays at the beginning, we're very happy about how the project is managed.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Their team is extremely talented. The designers work very quickly and deliver great results and the development team has vast competencies in several programming languages, technologies, and software architecture.
They’re also keen to learn new technologies and processes and use them in the project. It was great to have a team with all these kinds of expertise and it was one of the reasons why we selected Angry Nerds as our partner – their team simply covered all our needs. They’re also very committed and responsive, we didn't have to wait long for an answer.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
The only thing I could point out as a possible improvement is an a bit more transparency about the details of the development, testing and deployment process. We had a technical person on our side that helped us clarify some things regarding that, and we believe that without this person we might have not been able to fully understand what was happening, ask the right questions or spot some potential issues.

Please describe your company and your position there.
DAC SA is a software and hardware engineering company supporting clients with custom solutions all over the world. We are known for creating robust digital products or working with the biggest companies in Europe like Thales or Infineon on complex R&D projects. My position in the company is Head of Sales.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds, and what were your goals?
The project which Angry Nerds helped us with is related to custom software development of a system supporting elderly people located in nursing or care homes. We needed a dedicated team of experts in the field of C++ and .NET Core to support our in-house capabilities. The main goal was to start the cooperation as quickly as possible, develop proof of concept in less than two weeks and move on to further development of application supporting elderly people. One of the goals was to form a full project team in less than two weeks.
How did you select Angry Nerds and what were the deciding factors?
We did a review of several companies based e.g. on Clutch rankings and possibilities to deliver certain technologies. Price and quality of staff was also an important factor and out of several companies Angry Nerds were the best.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
DAC is responsible for co-creating a bespoke solution aimed for supporting elderly care needs. The intelligent cloud-based call systema which are at the core of the application, can be configured to suit specific user requirements in any care setting; nursing homes, care homes, assisted living or at home, and can quickly and easily be adapted over time for their entire care journey. The system is built around a multi-function hardware product equipped with wireless roaming, SIM, WiFi, Bluetooth and embedded SIM digital communication technologies.
The system is designed to ensure no central point of failure and monitors user location. Additional smart sensors and wearables are simply installed on-site using press and play functionality without having to send an engineer. The product has many use cases including allowing seniors to quickly contact someone when they need help, alert caregivers when an individual with dementia exits a defined safe zone, and even remotely unlock doors.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
Angry Nerds helps us with the backend development of the app. Frontend and hardware part are developed by DAC engineers. Additionally, the team is managed by DAC’s PM/Delivery Manager.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
The two most important factors can be presented here: reaction time from Angry Nerds to provide the developers in certain technologies and with experience we needed and their cooperation with our team and the customer in terms of communication. They also did very well in creating proof of concept in less time than expected.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
We’re happy with the communication, the way the team was set up and embedded. There was no feeling they are representing other company, they acted professionally and adjusted in only few days to the style of work we have at DAC.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Quality of resources provided was impressive. It was the added value the customer did not expect and we’re definitely will be working with them on other projects as well.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
No, not at the moment. We’re happy with how the support continues.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We’re a company that designs and manufactures human interface components. We provide keypads, rotary switches, joysticks, and other types of input devices that can be fully customized and integrated with interface panels. My position is a Software Project Leader and I’m part of the business unit responsible for advanced components.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds, and what were your goals?
We reached out to Angry Nerds because we needed a partner with profound UI expertise. We wanted to build a user interface design application for our hardware, that would make it possible to create custom interfaces for one of our flag devices – a multipurpose encoder that is a combination of a touchscreen, a keypad, and a rotary switch.
We had our own version of the application that we had made internally, but we weren’t happy with it and we decided to outsource this part of the project.
How did you select Angry Nerds and what were the deciding factors?
I sent the scope of the project to 3-4 companies and compared the estimates. Angry Nerds weren’t the cheapest, but they provided a very detailed estimation that clearly demonstrated they have the expertise we need.
Their portfolio also confirmed they’re capable of handling our project. I appreciate how responsive they are – I talked directly with the CEO via chat, exchanged some emails, and within 1 or 2 days I got the estimate. It was really quick!
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
The application will be used by a user to configure the interface in the device and customize it for a particular application. Angry Nerds provided the UX/UI design and software development services.
I really appreciate the team’s proactive approach and all their suggestions throughout the project - some of their ideas were exactly on point and we're happy they could be added to the implementation.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
From the Angry Nerds side, there was a Project Manager, two developers, and a UX/UI designer. We had also a kickoff meeting with the Co-Founders, the PM, and the designer.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
As the project is ongoing, the final release to the customers is still before us. But I can already say that the project will have a great impact on our business and there’s a huge demand for it.
The app will make our solutions easier and quicker to integrate – and the more accessible it gets, the more companies find it useful. Thanks to the intuitiveness of the application, everyone – from intern-level to senior - will be able to get the hardware up and running in no time.
It will be extremely beneficial for overall customer satisfaction, and we predict that our sales will increase significantly once the app is ready.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
The project is divided into sprints, we have regular online meetings and there’s a timeline we follow, which is very effective. I really love the transparency – I can see the code repository, pull requests, code commits, everything that is happening in the project. We have also a board with all the tasks and due dates.
What I particularly appreciate is the flexibility - the specification we provided wasn’t complete, it was more of a definition of where we are and where we want to be, so it was clear there would be some changes during the development. Angry Nerds handled it very well.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I’m very impressed with the UX/UI design team. They’ve done an excellent job, and comparing their skills with other companies I had worked with over the years, I can definitely say that Angry Nerds are experts when it comes to user interface applications. I also appreciate the fact that I could verify the UI design with an interactive prototype before we started the development phase.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
There were some little slips on the timeline, but it’s common for projects like this. It’s not always easy to estimate the effort accurately, especially when the specification changes with time, and the initial scope was not detailed enough. The responsibility for any delays always rests on both sides.

Please describe your company and your position there.
We’re a startup that provides a predictive dashboard for football clubs. We help analysts and coaches to prepare their next games. I am a co-founder and COO of the company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds, and what were your goals?
We hired Angry Nerds to help us build the frontend for the first version of the app. We already had the design, we needed to develop the frontend in Angular to connect to our API on the backend. The main goal for the project was to build the first iteration of the product quickly, to get early feedback from our partner clubs Timing was crucial for us because we wanted to have the prototype in time for the new season.
How did you select Angry Nerds and what were the deciding factors?
We first asked a few design agencies to quote for this because we wanted to make sure the app looked good. One of the agencies recommended Angry Nerds because they worked together in the past and were very satisfied with their collaboration. Being an early-stage startup, our main criteria were time and budget – we needed to ship our first version quickly while keeping the costs low. Angry Nerds’ proposal was very competitive on both counts, so we ended up following the other agency’s recommendation by choosing Angry Nerds for this project.
Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.
Our platform is a Progressive Web App for football analysts. When they log into the app, they choose the game they want to analyze and have access to all kinds of insights - stats, trends, predictions - about how the opposition is likely to play, and what changes the coach is going to make during the game. Every time the user chooses a particular scenario, our predictions need to update, so the app needed to be highly interactive. This is where Angry Nerds came into play, building the frontend in Angular based on the designs from the agency, making sure the user experience was as smooth as possible.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
On Angry Nerds’ side, there was a Project Manager and two developers. On our side, we had 3 people building the backend, plus me as the Product Owner.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
We were speaking to a lot of investors and doing a lot of demos for clubs at the time, so having access to a static website really early in the process really made a difference. Today, clubs use our platform daily so the project helped us develop our business.
Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.
At first, our main point of contact was the PM, with Slack as our main communication channel. After a couple of weeks, we extended it to daily meetings and direct communication with the development team, which greatly improved the workflow. Overall, project management and communication were good. Daily standups were crucial to make sure we didn’t deviate too far from the agreed timeline.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
Being a startup, their flexibility in terms of pricing and timing was a great advantage. This was key for us as we knew the requirements of the project were likely to evolve over time. We really appreciated that Angry Nerds was able to adapt to our changing needs.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
Towards the end of the project, we missed a few deadlines. We kept pushing some dates back, which was frustrating. But this was also partly due to the character of the project and how it evolved as we progressed. Despite these timing issues, we were satisfied with the collaboration because the quality of the deliverables was still high.

Please describe your company and your position there.
Our company is an international restaurant operator, mainly a franchiser holder and also a franchisor of numerous well-known brands. I am an HR Digital Innovations Manager, responsible for HR systems for our restaurants and franchisees.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds?
We commissioned Angry Nerds to develop an HR system for managing employee data of the franchised restaurants.
What were your goals for this project?
For our direct employees, we have a central database integrated with every new system in the company. We needed a similar solution for the franchise employees – that was basically the main goal of the project. It’s directly connected with our long-term goals of expanding our franchise.
How did you select this vendor?
We sent out a Request for Proposal and collected offers from several companies. The proposal submitted by Angry Nerds was attractive and we had a very satisfying experience working with them on a different project, so we decided to trust them with this one as well.
The previous experience was a vital asset, as we wanted to avoid the necessity to familiarize a new partner with our specific workflow and company structure. Angry Nerds already knew all that and could go straight into action.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Angry Nerds designed and developed a comprehensive HR system to manage the employee data. The project consisted of two modules: an interface to create, edit and remove data (GUI), and a central database to collect all the information. Angry Nerds covered all aspects of the project: design, front-end development and back-end development.
What was the team composition?
On our side, there was a Business Owner, an IT Project Manager, a Security Director and a Database Manager, whereas on the Angry Nerds’ side there was a Team Leader, two Back-end Developers, a Front-end Developer and a Designer.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The project is yet to be finished, but we’re satisfied with the deliverables so far and, we already see that the results will perfectly meet our requirements. Having this system will eventually play a significant role in our company, facilitating the implementation of all the other solutions. This mechanism will undoubtedly drive our franchise, making our plans for future growth much easier to fulfil.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The project is agile-driven, and there is continuous and direct communication between us over MS Teams, where we also share documentation and feedback. Every week, there is an update call when we discuss the project status. The communication is seamless, and we appreciate the possibility to get in touch whenever it’s needed.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
We really value their flexibility and openness, especially in these challenging times for our industry (with the impact of the pandemic). Angry Nerds are always eager to work out a solution that will be beneficial for us. They also quickly react to our feedback - I was involved in part of the tests as well, and we never waited too long for any changes or fixes, and the team always made sure everything was in line with our needs.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There’s nothing serious to improve. We had a minor communication issue when there was a change in the team composition, but it didn’t affect the development.

Please describe your company and your position there.
The company provides Business Intelligence tools for the automotive industry. I’m the Co-Founder and Business Development Manager.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds?
We wanted to build an application that will monitor, analyze and visualize data from the vehicles in logistics centers. The app was supposed to collect the data, organize and process it, as well as present it in an accessible way through reports and visualizations.
What were your goals for this project?
The project is crucial for our business to succeed. The main goal of the first stage was to refine the idea and build an MVP. Later, we focused on the development of a complete software solution for a particular customer.
How did you select this vendor?
We did some research among software development companies located in Wroclaw. We had three essential criteria: the quality of communication, the level of UX skills and pricing. Angry Nerds clearly stood out among other IT companies in our area and proved to fulfill our needs perfectly.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
With a comprehensive approach to the project, Angry Nerds built a software solution that meets all our objectives. At the beginning of the project, we concentrated on pure mathematics and all data-related aspects – to lay a solid foundation for software architecture.
Next, we worked on the UX/UI design and customer-centric approach. The final key element of the project was the database and data visualization. I would like to emphasize their commitment to the project from the very beginning.
During the MVP phase, Angry Nerds proposed and tested several technologies and helped us choose the optimal solution. Later, they continued on actively suggesting what would be the best for us, and we’ve always seen them as a reliable partner.
What was the team composition?
There’s a dedicated developer for the whole project, which we appreciate enormously. Depending on the stage of the project, there was also another developer and a UX/UI designer collaborating, as well as a Project Manager. As the project is ongoing, the team may be extended in the future. All the members of the team are experienced and I am sure we can trust them with our project.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
Our business is thriving. The app definitely contributed to the interest from the customers, and as a result – an increase of our income.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
The project has been managed in accordance with all the best practices. Each week we have a demo and plan the work for the upcoming sprint. Apart from the meetings, we’re in constant communication online, so if there’s an urgent matter, it’s solved quickly.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
The key characteristic I see in Angry Nerds is their flexibility. They were open to any modifications in the project, reacted quickly to the changing requirements and easily adapted to the new situation. I really appreciate how thoughtful and open-minded they are towards our needs.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There’s hardly anything to improve. If I were them, perhaps I’d make it a rule that every quarter there’s a review meeting of the project, where they can suggest any improvements, in a more global way, than we do it during the weekly demos. It’s by no means a downside, and as I mentioned previously, we already talk through the status of the project regularly. Generally, I feel Angry Nerds are among top-class software development companies.

Please describe your company and your position there.
The company provides products and services optimizing the processes in the automotive industry. I am the Product Owner.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds?
We were looking for a software development partner with a strong background in product design to help us with the rebranding and front-end development of our website and the products in our portfolio.
What were your goals for this project?
Our main goals were to improve the exposition and performance of our company and the services we offer, boost the brand image and provide our customers with top-class user experience.
How did you select this vendor?
We did a thorough research online, looking for a partner that would match the ideal profile – a company not too big, so our project won’t get lost among hundreds of others, and not too small, so we can be sure they can handle it. We wanted to work with a medium-sized, reliable software development shop, with product design experience and solid technical background – Angry Nerds met all these requirements perfectly. We’re glad we’ve chosen them as our partner in this project.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
Angry Nerds are responsible for the redesign and front-end development of our company’s website and the portfolio of our digital products. The project is ongoing, but they already delivered top-notch services, beginning with a comprehensive UX/UI approach and delightful designs, through advanced front-end development, up to constant support during the whole project.
When we had to make some modifications to the project due to changes in the business requirements, Angry Nerds were very flexible and supportive. They actively suggested improvements to the initial specification and always aimed to provide the optimal solution for both the users and our business. We loved their ideas and happily agreed to implement them in the final designs.
What was the team composition?
The team consists of a Project Manager (and a Scrum Master at some point), a Front-end Developer, a UX/UI Designer – and me, as the Product Owner. The communication goes smoothly, as I am directly in touch with the whole team and we can always address any urgent issues immediately.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
We’re very happy about the results of our collaboration with Angry Nerds so far. The new version of our website and the redesigned portfolio attract more customers and have a significant impact on our business. We receive a lot of praise from our clients, who are really satisfied with the user- friendly approach they get right now.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
In the beginning, the project was managed in Scrum, with a dedicated Scrum Master. I found Scrum really effective in our case, as it helped to structure the tasks for the team and every aspect of the project was very well-organized. Later, due to some personal changes, we switched to agile project management coordinated by a Project Manager. For the current stage of the project it works fine, but we plan to switch back to Scrum soon.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their design skills are top-class. Angry Nerds are a truly committed and experienced team - and they’re simply friendly, so it’s a real pleasure working with them. They’re easy-going and at the same time strongly involved in everything they do. The communication was always transparent and on- point.
Are there any areas for improvement?
Looking back to the kick-off of the project, I think we should have done a workshop or a design sprint before starting the actual work. It might have helped to shape our vision and prevent the numerous changes we made on the way. I know Angry Nerds conduct such workshops before starting some of their projects, so I would definitely opt for making it a standard in every project they undertake.

Please describe your company and your position there.
FastAuth helps make the U.S. healthcare system more accessible and efficient by automating the insurance verification and prior authorization process. Our customers are hospitals and physician groups. I am the Founder of the company.
For what projects/services did your company hire Angry Nerds?
Angry Nerds has helped us from the beginning, from the validating technical feasibility to developing a solution that is now live with customers. I’ve been impressed with the team’s ability to tackle one of the most complex processes in the U.S. healthcare industry.
What were your goals for this project?
Our goal was to develop an application that we can demonstrate to clients and launch our solution with our early adopters.
How did you select this vendor?
The most important criteria for me was communication and finding someone who will be very supportive towards our mission. As a non-technical founder, I was seeking a partner that I could lean on, provide valuable feedback and improvements, and have strong communication skills. Angry Nerds has been all of that. The owners and development team are genuinely nice to talk to, and I felt we’ve built a friendship. We are in constant communication over Slack and have calls one to two times per week.
Describe the project and the services they provided in detail.
The aim of the project is to create a platform to make it easier for patients to get access to healthcare and facilitate the prior authorization process faster. Based on our requirements, Angry Nerds has built the front-end and back-end architecture of an enterprise software solution. Our collaboration is ongoing, so right now we’re focused on the development a more scalable solution as we onboard our initial customers.
What was the team composition?
The initial contact was with the company’s co-founder who supported the take-off of the project. The team is composed of a Project Manager, a Front-end Developer and a Back-end Developer. The PM acts as the main point of contact, but I can also communicate directly with the developers, which is extremely efficient. We operate in one-week sprints, which allows us to test and iterate on features quickly. I receive new releases almost daily and bugs are typically addressed within 24 hours.
I lean on the development team for their suggestions on feature enhancements, improvements to UI, and prioritizing the product roadmap. The team is well-organized, utilizing project management software to develop the product roadmap and Slack for communication. I feel like a have a truly committed team by my side which is exactly what I need as the solo founder trying to succeed with my business.
Can you share any information that demonstrates the impact that this project has had on your business?
The project is ongoing, but I’m very pleased with progress we made so far. Our product is in use with our early adopters and customers are asking for proposals. The application is getting better and better, and I'm confident it will reduce the inefficiencies of the U.S. healthcare system.
How was project management arranged and how effective was it?
In the beginning, we faced some challenges as there was no dedicated Project Manager to start, but since adding a PM to the team, the workflow and communication has been great. The project management is agile-driven, based on one-week sprints which is very efficient. The Project Manager is doing a good job, coordinating all the meetings, structuring the project’s requirements, establishing the tasks and managing the sprints. He acts as the main point of contact and helps organize the communication for the team.
I can also communicate directly with the developers, so everything runs smoothly. For daily communication we use Slack, but there’s also an additional project management software to keep track of the development in a more structured way. We’re in daily communication. The developers typically fix bugs within 24 hours and releasing new version of the app almost daily. I’m also very satisfied with the transparency into time-management – I can clearly see how the hours and resources are allocated and keep track of the project’s development.
What did you find most impressive about this company?
Their partnership and commitment. I really appreciate the close collaboration with the dedicated team. I know exactly who is working on the product, and I see they truly care about FastAuth and the product’s success. It’s great to work in such a supportive environment. Angry Nerds is a nimble company, and I appreciate the access I have to the co-founders and their ability to move quickly to meet our needs.
I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for a software development partner, for both short- and long-term projects. Angry Nerds has proven they can handle one of the most complex problems in U.S. healthcare, and I am confident they have the expertise to take on any sort of application development.
Are there any areas for improvement?
There isn’t much to improve. I can see they’re growing quickly, and I hope they’ll stay true to the way they built their company and make sure there are senior-level experts available to check on the critical issues in the project.
The company appreciated how diligent the Angry Nerds team was, allowing even their remote set-up to work quite well. The company was also impressed with how the team took the time to actually understand their needs and almost became part of their internal operations.
