I’m the CTO of a software company.

What challenge were you trying to address with Ameware Group?

We needed help with expanding our pool of developers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Ameware Group helped us find a new teammate. Specifically, we were in need of an Android developer. The team looked for candidates on their own and put them through a test we provided. Eventually, they returned with 5–6 candidates for us to interview. We then hired the best fit for us.

We put out job listings, and they responded.

How much have you invested with them?

The project cost $4,500 CAD (approximately $4,000 USD).

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from November 2020–January 2021.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

Instead of wading through 150–200 resumes, we only had to go through a few interviews. The candidate also did a great job — they were always willing to learn and consistently finished their work on time. 

How did Ameware Group perform from a project management standpoint?

They performed well. We communicated through Microsoft Teams.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Ameware Group saved us a lot of time.

Please describe your company and your position there.

Bank Zenit is a large Russian universal commercial bank. I'm a Head of the Electronic Business Department there.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ameware Group, and what were your goals?

To attract new customers, bank Zenit decided to implement a new modern online bank, comparable by its functionality with top internet and mobile banking apps, such as N26 and Revolut.

How did you select Ameware Group and what were the deciding factors?

We asked around and searched online for an outsourcing company with banking experience, especially in Internet / Mobile banking.

We chose seven companies. Interviewing every one of them, we narrowed down our list to two, based on exceptional professionalism, pricing transparency, immediate interest in the project, and the will to start asap.

Then we carefully interviewed the candidates from both outsources and liked Ameware specialists more. We found them experienced, highly skilled, enthusiastic, motivated engineers, and they proved it to be true.

Describe the scope of work in detail, including the project steps, key deliverables, and technologies used.

Initially, there was limited integration between the internal banking systems. Mostly point-to-point DB links and some SOA services. Also, being a financial organization, we required the Ameware team to follow high-security standards, comply with PCI DSS, and internal bank's protocols and regulations. The project was divided into 3 phases:

1. Analysis. Ameware gathered all requirements from the product owners and deeply investigated the client's competitors' functionality.
2. Planning. Preparation of the task definitions (epics, stories, issues, etc.) and initial estimation. Ameware, hand in hand with the product owners and on-site technical team, came up with a release plan.
3. Development. Every two weeks sprint ended with a demo of the implemented functionality to the product owners.

Tech stack: ReactJS, iOS, Android, Java, Spring Boot, Apache Camel, Docker, Kubernetes.

How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

The project manager was our main point of contact through the development. There were also 2 Senior Java Back-end developers, 2 Senior JavaScript Front-end Developers, 1 Senior DevOps Engineer, 2 Senior QA Engineers.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

The new modern internet bank attracted hundreds of customers, and we saw a 30% traffic increase on our website.

Describe their project management style, including communication tools and timelines.

We had daily stand-up meetings with the team. If some requirements were needed clarification, they had always asked ahead. Their project manager is a very professional and friendly person to deal with.

He was always happy to assist with any possible issues. We used Teams, Jira, Confluence, and GitLab. The team worked well with these tools.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

They have exceptional professionalism and outstanding expertise. It hites immediately when you talk to the CTO Paul. Before we had any commitments with Ameware, he offered us a free IT consultation about the new internet banking technologue stack and shared his experience in implementing it.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

There were some delays, but it was the bank's fault. Because every change must go through a few steps of approval on our side, and from time to time we kept Ameware waiting.

For what projects/services did your company hire Ameware Group, and what were your goals?

We hired Pavel to help us with our custom API and migrate our data over to AWS.

How did you select Ameware Group and what were the deciding factors?

We were referred to him by a friend.

Pavel updated our custom API for our tech partnership. Very difficult as it previously wasn't created well. He didn't a fantastic job fixing this.

Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?

Pavel did a great job fixing our API. He also migrated our data over to AWS. He is extremely responsive and helpful.

Pavel uses a scheduled base agreement so all items and costs are outlined ahead of time before starting the project.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Pavel is extremely detailed oriented and great to work with! He is very responsive and gets back to you within a few hours. The team is intelligent, skilled, and a great problem solver.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

I think Pavel did a great job overall. Very small comment perhaps simplifying a few things or showing overall picture. I am not a programmer so this helps greatly.
