MiaVip

Upon sending the request, the user is prompted to a PayPal authorization form allowing to book the service right through the app. When the form is sent, both the user and the customer support receive notifying emails.

Specifically, the support representatives receive a payment authorization verifying that funds are available and placed on hold for a certain amount of time.

Once in the app, the user can read

the meet-and-greet service information, contact the customer service or proceed directly to ordering a service, be it at departure or arrival. Either way, the procedure gets quicker and simpler as the user only needs to type in the flight information, their name, the number of persons traveling with them, the number of bags, phone number and additional information, if any.

E.P.I.C.

Epic is the first application that allow in less than a minute and in few steps to determine which primary teeth to extract, if necessary, in order to prevent canine impaction. It is aimed at helping dentists make a quick and accurate decision regarding primary teeth extraction. It calculates spacing in millimetres, finds the measures of the angles, and offers results and recommendations based on these measurements. Automation

of the process speeds up the dentist’s judgement on the need for primary teeth extraction.

The app allows the user to enter patient details, such as their name, age, and the clinic where the appointment is taking place. This is especially handy for dentists that work in multiple clinics.

The user can choose a photo from the phone gallery, or take one using the camera.

To perform the measurement, the app determines the positions of the dental arches and notes the directions in which the teeth are growing.

Based on gathered information, the app finds the measures of the angles in relation to the dental arches and to each other.

The app generates a PDF file with the results, a photo and recommendations. The results can be modified, zoomed in on the photo, and shared with colleagues.

Smartceph

Application that allows to perform cephalometric analysis in less than 90 seconds. Import or take a picture of the x-ray, select an analysis (Jarabak or MBT) insert the point and it done! In short time you can make your treatment plan. With Smartceph now is easier for all orthodontists to perform cephalometric!

The customer asked to upgrade an application that was made a couple of years earlier by other developers.

The upgraded version required more measurements in the results shown by the application, and increased precision of measurements. The formula to calculate the destination between the two points, the names of the points, and the logic behind the “capture” of the points while clicking were all changed. New screens and buttons were added, and the logic behind the screen shifting was also slightly changed. While it may seem that the application has only four template screens, each of them is backed by the complicated logic and own controllers.

The application is written in Objective-C using C++. We haven’t changed the original architecture and continued working with these languages. We also used Core Graphic. The application is upgraded and is already in the App Store. The customer was satisfied with our work, and we continue to enhance the application according to the new tasks. https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/smartceph-pro/id1071651758?mt=8 December, 2016: The app became localized for English, small bugs were fixed, 3 new types of measurements were added.

LyteRange

Precision Mode

In this mode, the user practices with a classic shooting target, which can be easily printed out from the app. For better visibility, before starting the drill, the user can adjust the way the target is shown on the iPad’s screen by moving it and zooming in and out. By default, each drill lasts 30 seconds and ends after 10 shots. However, the user can adjust the settings in line with their needs by

changing the number of shots per target, drill duration, countdown settings and the number of drill repetitions. In addition to that, it is possible to turn on the acoustic signals and voice commands for more interactivity. While practicing the drill, the user can view their score in the real time and right away on the screen. The overall statistics, including the drill duration, split times and the score of each hit, will be available as the drill ends.

Silhouette Mode

The silhouette mode enables the user to shoot at as many as 6 targets per a drill or set hit different zones within one target. As is with the precision mode, to ensure target alignment, the user can simply lay the targets shown on the screen over the real ones with a possibility to move and resize them. Here, there are two modes: shooting at targets in a pre-defined order and shooting at randomly called targets. In both modes, the user can set the timing, acoustic commands and the number of shots. It is also possible to set the amount of shots required to ‘shoot down’ a target as well as the color for ‘shot-down’ targets.

Wherearemygoods

An application that allows you to track orders from different delivery services, as well as determine whether the job has been done or the order has been delivered to the retail stores. Initially, the customer required an application that would eliminate the need for tracking the stage of delivery of drugs and the need for calling the pharmacies to make sure the drugs ordered by the patient have arrived. However, during the app

development, more scopes of application have been added.

The application for the client allows the client to make an order right from the queue. QR-codes are used for the information exchanged between the client and the seller. By scanning QR code on the seller’s phone screen, the client lets the server know that the they are the one who are placing an order. After that, the program proceeds with the order. The client’s application includes the calendar, history, GPS map (for visual tracking), and notifications. This means, the client doesn’t have to ever call the seller to find out whether the order has been made or the goods have been delivered. For maximum efficiency, the goods and services are broken down into groups that the client can create and control. In addition, all estimated delivery times, locations are shown on the calendar, and map.

CS:GO Bets

CS:GO is a Counter Strike betting application. The application is free, and monetization is planned through advertising. The customer wanted to make an application for the fast-growing field of cybersport. Initially, only the iOS application was planned, but during the development, the version for Android was also added.

The application requires the user to login through Facebook, receives the data through the server,

and shows the current and upcoming matches. The data is entered by hand in the admin panel. Bets are made with virtual money but one can buy more of it with real money. The user can take a look at the large list of statistical data related to the bets and their results. The application has a scheme of the VIP-levels and achievements. While waiting for the match and also during the match, the users can discuss the match in the chat. The chat was made from scratch with Node. The application is using a complicated automated system of push notifications for key events.

Feedback summary:

Almet used weekly Skype calls to manage communication. The team delivered everything within the predetermined window, which is not true for many other firms. The app is currently launching, so there is no data to date, but overall the team performed quite well.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

I am the CEO of RK Sports. Our main profile is the manufacturing of custom sportswear. In 2016, we started offering digital products, in the form of Android and iOS applications.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Almet?

They handled everything from beginning to end around our application and backend infrastructure.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Almet developed our iOS and Android application and also wrote our technical requirements, and handled the publishing process, creating screenshots and descriptions of the app. We used the Yii2 framework, and Node.js on the backend.

How did you come to work with Almet?

I found them on Upwork, where I compared three companies. The price and communication were suitable for us. We were able to find a common language easily and quickly.

How much have you invested with Almet?

The cost of their work has been around $16,000 so far. We have things to do yet, so the cost will likely reach $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with Almet in November 2016. The development took several months, after which we did some marketing work on our end. We published the app yesterday.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

I don’t have any feedback yet.

How did Almet perform from a project management standpoint?

We had a dedicated project manager with whom we discussed everything. We have also communicated with the lead for one of the development teams at one point. In general, we have a conversation over Skype one a week, and discuss all our problems and to-dos. There have been no communication problems with Almet.

What did you find most impressive about Almet?

They delivered everything in the designated time, which was a big problem for other teams. Previously, I had been used to hearing apologies from other companies, so punctuality was what I liked best about Almet.

Are there any areas Almet could improve?

No.

BACKGROUND

Introduce your business and what you do there.

We are an Italian orthodontists' community forum.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Almet?

We needed to develop 3 iPad applications which could help us do our work better.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

Almet developed our iOS applications using a single developer.

One of the apps allows users to upload X-rays and perform cephalometric analyses, measuring angles and distances in order to determine a correct orthodontic treatment.

The second app is meant to establish whether a canine shown in an X-ray needs to be extracted. This is evaluated by measuring angles.

The third application allows orthodontists to see whether the dimensions of a tooth are correct, or whether they need to be enlarged in order to obtain a nice smile.

How did you come to work with Almet?

I found Almet through a website and gave them a small test project to determine how they worked. Our contact was always on-time and available on Skype, willing to make any changes we required. We continued with the development of all 3 projects.

How much have you invested with Almet?

The cost of Almet's services was between $25,000 and $30,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

Our work with Almet is completed.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

Could you share any evidence that would demonstrate the productivity, quality of work, or the impact of the engagement?

Our applications are available on our blog. People have been using them and have found them easy to utilize and nice-looking. We continue to update the apps monthly.

How did Almet perform from a project management standpoint?

Everything has been fine in this regard. Almet is always available on Skype, and I was able to contact them at any time with issues around the apps.

What did you find most impressive about Almet?

I'm very happy with Almet's performance, and I would surely recommend them to anyone else looking to develop a similar application. All deadlines were met on time, and issues were fixed at no additional cost.
