I am the VP of Marketing for Midtown Athletic Clubs. Midtown owns and operates premium fitness, tennis, and lifestyle clubs across North America.
For what projects/services did your company hire AgencyPPC, and what were your goals?
We began a shift in our advertising spend from traditional media to primarily digital media about two years ago--but did not see the results we expected throughout the first year of the shift. Our reporting remained messy and unreliable, our impression and click-through numbers did not correspond with real business success, and little effort was made to connect our digital marketing platforms with our lead management software.
We decided to end our relationship with our previous agency (a large and well-established name), and after an extensive due-diligence process selected AgencyPPC to become our new Digital Media Agency. We selected AgencyPPC to help us right our digital marketing ship--to help us set up a best-in-class system of results tracking across our entire digital advertising funnel, and to manage our PPC and CPC campaigns based on those results.
How did you select AgencyPPC and what were the deciding factors?
The key factors of our decision included:
- Trust. Our previous agency did not raise their hands when problems arose. They would not push back against us in pursuit of a better solution to our challenges. In the end, we felt this was the most important factor--our ability to build real, productive trust with the agency.
- Expertise, and the passion to deliver it for us. Again, we were used to being given 'junior' talent on our account. We knew that working with an experienced team that was able to actually give care to our account would make a huge difference for us.
- A history of proven, sustained success. We cared less about the strategic details each agency came with during the pitch process, because we believe that the specifics of digital media strategy changes constantly as platforms change. Instead, we looked for agencies that were able to sustain historical success and growth for their clients as evidence of their ability to adapt.

AgencyPPC owns the day-to-day management of our digital media spend. Today, this covers Google Ads and Facebook Ads. AgencyPPC sets up the campaigns--strategizing on audience structures and spend allocation--as well as writing ad copy. They work alongside our internal creative team on design, photo, and video assets. They help build and maintain our reports--including our executive marketing dashboard, which is partly fed by integrations the agency set up. They worked with our Lead Management software to identify opportunities for better lead tracking integration, and are currently leading the project to connect to our system. In addition, they identified and implemented new phone call tracking software that has directly led to new business opportunities for us (outside their original scope, just because they saw it would make an impact for us). They also hold monthly strategy sessions with our team to brainstorm updates and growth opportunities for all our marketing.
How many people from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?
We work directly with two members of the team.
- Maria is our main account rep, who is our point of contact with the Agency. She is a key part of the daily management of the account and a strategic partner for us.
- Geoff is the agency founder. We work with him on the initial project set-up, bigger strategic brainstorms, and new system integrations.
Can you share any measurable outcomes of the project or general feedback about the deliverables?
Within the first month of the campaign we were able to:
- have clean(ish) cost-per-lead data, which we had never had before.
- nearly halved our cost-per-lead
Three months in, we are consistently hitting lead goal numbers thanks to volume driven by the campaigns--with continuous improvement on lead quality.

The team at AgencyPPC is incredibly responsive any time we have questions or updates. Our main tool for check-ins is a monthly meeting between our team and theirs, where we brainstorm and commit to any larger-scale changes and priorities. AgencyPPC maintains a weekly report that keeps up on top of our entire marketing funnel performance.
What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?
I have found that most agencies operate out of fear. They sugar coat results or remain so intentionally silo'd from actual business results that they can report on their own metrics of success (like impressions) without doing the difficult and humbling work of connecting those results all the way through to the sale. They do so because they do not want to lose the client's business. If results look bad, they just dig into this further. AgencyPPC is not afraid to be vulnerable with us. If we push them to execute on a campaign and it isn't working, they'll call us right away and walk us through the challenge--and always with an idea for how to improve (even if it conflicts with our own ideas). They are not afraid to get in the trenches with us, push us, challenge us, and be a true partner to us. Plus, they do this all with kindness. I believe this operating philosophy will keep us continually improving.
Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?
COVID makes this difficult, but it would be nice to have our teams meet in person. I expect this is something we'll all be happy to remedy once more normalcy returns.

I’m the founder and CEO of JogAlong Stroller, LLC. We make the world’s only jogging stroller that lets you move your arms while you’re running.
What challenge were you trying to address with AgencyPPC?
As a startup, we were trying to find a way to grow our potential customer database. We weren’t large enough to have an in-house digital marketing team, so we found AgencyPPC.
What was the scope of their involvement?
In our partnership with AgencyPPC, we opted for the majority of our budget to go towards Facebook ads. They’ve helped us set them up, sometimes generating new content and other times helping us repurpose old content. They’ve also really helped us to refine our audience.
After some research, AgencyPPC helped us conclude that our space is pretty competitive within PPC, which is something we appreciated. We figured out our main goal should be to build up our database and brand and get our name out there.

Currently, we’re running a campaign to raise capital for the business, and AgencyPPC has been instrumental in helping us identify the right audiences to target on Facebook.
I also really appreciate that they’re big proponents of trying and testing ideas. It’s been a very collaborative experience and their methodology is impressive.

They’ve been excellent. I never have to call and chase after them; everything’s done on time. It’s been very positive to know I don’t have to worry about them.

I’m the owner and CEO of a growth marketing agency.
What challenge were you trying to address with AgencyPPC?
We operate in the same spaces as AgencyPPC, so we lean on them for additional one-off projects that require their SEO and PPC talents.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We’ve worked with AgencyPPC across a number of projects. The first engagement we had together was running project management and analytics around SEO for a publicly-traded company’s 4,000-page website. Our team handled the website—which needed a revamp—while theirs provided extra hands to cover the analysis.
Specifically, AgencyPPC did a lot of keyword research and benchmarking, hunting for opportunities for improvements. Each time they found an opportunity, they presented the results as a business case, laying out what they changed and why and educating the client’s team to help them understand those recommendations. They did some project management as well within the SEO side of things.
Since that first project, we’ve worked with them with PPC projects as well to varying degrees. Sometimes they’ll build the account for us that we’ll later manage for the client. Other times, they act as the backend support depending on the volume of work needed.

We’ve worked with two leads over the years. We met each other while working for the same client. Our company was doing email and social media marketing while AgencyPPC was handling paid search. We realized our services complemented each other really well in our overlaps; PPC and SEO are services we can provide internally, but we only have a small team to make that happen. After the project, we met up a few times and then piloted that initial SEO project. It’s been going smoothly from there.

What is the status of this engagement?
We started working together in late 2016 or early 2017, and we’re still working together today.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
When working with AgencyPPC, we typically see a stark increase in return on ad spend (ROAS). Within 1–3 months, we’ll see the rate grow from 4-to-1 to 7-to-1 on average—about a 25% increase. When it comes to the accounts’ overall efficiency, our click-through rates usually double. That ties back into how analytical AgencyPPC is when it comes to their audience and keyword research.
On the SEO side—specifically, that first project—their keyword recommendations led to a 40% lift in organic traffic year-over-year within the first four months. Our client was thrilled with that.
From a qualitative standpoint, AgencyPPC is highly supportive and responsive. Our relationship is a little non-tradition since we’re another agency, not a direct client. However, for every project, they’re on top of everything and quick to reply to any messages. That’s been refreshing for me.
How did AgencyPPC perform from a project management standpoint?
AgencyPPC is highly communicative. Whenever we work with them, they bring the client on board through Slack or tons of phone calls. It makes them very accessible.
More than that, they’re also very knowledgeable and transparent. If they try something and it doesn’t work as planned—which happens very rarely for them—they own up to it. They’re upfront about mistakes or missteps.
Lastly, AgencyPPC is extremely meticulous. Their tracking can have four levels of sub-tasks, which adds that layer of visibility that I can communicate to my client directly.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Their transparency with data stands out the most to me, to be quite honest. In every project, AgencyPPC will launch a screen share, go into the PPC account, and review the data in real-time. We still receive monthly reports, but the screensharing adds even more transparency, which I appreciate. They’re never surprised by anything; to me, that shows how far they dig into numbers behind each account.
At the same time, they’re eager to educate their customers. Most agencies—including mine—struggle with explaining so many data points to people who aren’t as deeply involved in the subject. That’s a challenge that AgencyPPC embraces.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No. They could come to our happy hours more often, but that’s about it.
Any advice for potential customers?
AgencyPPC will work hard to be the best partner for your needs. Give them access to all the data points they need during the pitching process. That way, they can learn the baselines of your performance and will be most effective for you.

We were aiming to optimize our client’s digital ad spend.
What was the scope of their involvement?
First, we conducted a discovery phase and audit that involved their team digging through our client’s paid search, social accounts, web traffic, and third-party tools. Implementing measures to improve our digital presence and footprint was phase one. The end goal was to spend efficiency and optimizing leads.
They started by establishing a clean, clear baseline, using the information they collected from their initial investigations. Communicating the client’s current standing in the market, they then provided options on what they could do to achieve their goals.
More often than not, they suggest spending less money on certain marketing elements or to reallocate resources to different areas of the campaign.
What is the team composition?
We worked directly with Geoff (Director of Digital Strategy, AgencyPPC), but I know there were others working on the account.
What is the status of this engagement?
We started working with them in November 2019, and we’re approaching phase two now.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
While I’m unable to share any meaningful data, but they get high marks for being thorough yet clear in their explanations. This company is very technical, specializing in their specific aptitude. However, AgencyPPC is able to take information from them and translate it into layman’s terms. That’s something that our client has really responded to because the team is actively able to communicate and build relationships.
For instance, I don’t personally understand the technical aspects of what they do, but they were able to explain it to me at a level that was appropriate for my understanding of the situation. We’ve worked them into other tasks because there’s a value to being thorough but with a bias toward action. It’s a really great combo.
How did AgencyPPC perform from a project management standpoint?
They’re super responsive, handling everything professionally and seriously. Able to under commit and overdeliver, they manage expectations and communicate appropriately. They have a variety of tools to facilitate conferences and meetings, but we were able to meet in-person as well.
What did you find most impressive about them?
There’s a lot of data out there that can easily be misused or misinterpreted. They didn’t get lost in the data but instead established an effective baseline for my client to use to improve lead capture efficiency. Their focus on the use of the data to drive better business decisions is stronger than what I’ve seen from other providers.
This industry can often seem like a sea of sameness, but they really differentiate themselves by combining technical knowledge that gives more meaning to the data they deliver. They aren’t using AI or anything extreme, but they can sift through data to figure out what’s most important to our business. I’m able to get almost immediate feedback through their team. With them on our side, our data is more meaningful and offers better insight.
Are there any areas they could improve?
Making sure they never lose focus on the “why” and “so what” factors of analytics are important. They did that well here with some coaxing, but they had that information when I asked for it. As they move forward, though, it would be helpful for them to keep that at the center. I’d recommend that they continue focusing on helping their audience digest and respond to data in the most appropriate ways. They’re doing that well, so they should keep honing that strength.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Don’t be afraid to ask for more clarification from their team if you don’t understand the information that they’re delivering. They’re patient and willing to walk through it with you if you don’t get it. I’ve interacted with many people on their team, and they’re real, approachable, and have the technical aptitude to back everything up. There’s no shame in asking them to slow down to go over something.
