I’m a senior tax manager for an accounting firm. We carry out IRS, file refunds, provide tax consulting services, and work on bookkeeping and payrolls for our clients, both individuals and corporations. We’re based in Los Angeles.

What challenge were you trying to address with ADES Technologies?

We were servicing between 5,000–6,000 individuals, and they were always calling us to ask about their refunds. We spent a lot of time attending to these easy questions, so we decided to use technology to save time and build an app or web page where clients could review their status and communicate with the IRS.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We initially provided our specifications for the app, and that was it. ADES Technologies was in charge of the design and development. The app is connected to the IRS, and it works correctly. Only clients can use the application, and they can do everything with their social security number, whether it’s on the website or the app.

They currently provide maintenance. They generate a fee if they have to fix anything complicated, but otherwise, it’s part of the initial fee.

What is the team composition?

We were in contact with two people; I believe they were the owners.

How much have you invested with them?

It was between $25,000–$35,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked together from May 2020–July 2021, but our relationship is ongoing. We’ll probably start a new bitcoin project with them in January.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

We’re currently teaching our clients about the application, and they’re starting to use it and getting to know how it works. I think we’ll see the actual results in a year.

Nonetheless, people have said that the app is pretty easy to use. Our clients range in age, so people from 18–70 years can use it, including everything we require.

How did ADES Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Our only issue was the pandemic because we couldn’t work in an office. I was in charge of the project, so I was in communication with them. We wanted to finish the project before the year ended to teach our clients how to use it. We had weekly goals, and they completed the project with spare time.

Overall, our communication was great, and they always provided the necessary updates. We spoke through phone calls and Zoom meetings.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their pricing was their most appealing trait.

Are there any areas they could improve?

No, there wasn’t anything.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

If you’re in the US or other expensive countries, they’re a great option because you can save money and get what you want. One of my goals is the company’s profit, so I’m always looking for great prices for good projects, and ADES Technologies has that.

I'm the business intelligence director of a real estate agency.

We needed someone to develop a platform that allows our investors to see real-time information on their projects with us.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ADES Technologies developed a mobile app for both Android and iOS, although we primarily needed it for iOS. We provided them with the project requirements, and our software development team supplied them with the information we needed in the app.

The app featured information detailing our projects, their timelines, financial statements, and project flow diagrams. It also featured our design outputs, renders, and so on. 

What was the team composition? 

I worked directly with one person.

How did you come to work with ADES Technologies?

Someone from our IT department had worked with them in the past. Three companies gave us proposals, but ADES Technologies seemed like the best fit. 

How much have you invested in them?

We spent about $20,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

The project lasted from January–September 2021. We continue to work with them on minor updates.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The project went smoothly. Furthermore, the app worked very well and was user-friendly. It was also received well by our investors. 

Although we need more time to evaluate the app, we've seen good results so far.

How did ADES Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

We primarily had Zoom meetings. Additionally, they were in contact with our software development team.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They truly customized the process for us. Overall, I was confident in ADES Technologies' skills and experience throughout the development phase.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The development took a little longer than I had expected, so they could've done a better job of adhering to deadlines.

Have a clear idea of what you want them to achieve. If you give the team detailed requirements, they will execute well.

I’m the founder of a health and wellness brand.

What challenges were you trying to address with ADES Technologies?

We brought them on for e-commerce development services.

What was the scope of their involvement?

ADES Technologies built our site on WooCommerce. The website includes health and wellness information and routines. It also allows our clients to purchase our products.

What is the team composition?

There were three people working on the project.

How did you come to work with ADES Technologies?

They were referred to us.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started having conversations with them in July 2020. However, the development work started and finished in January 2021. The project lasted one month.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The results were positive, and they provided excellent service. The website met and exceeded our expectations.

How did ADES Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

They were able to finish the project very quickly and with great quality. We communicated mostly via zoom and had in-person meetings every now and then.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They solved every one of our requests and showed great availability.

No, I can’t think of anything. Everything worked perfectly.

I’m the product owner of a consumer software startup. We are developing a personal assistant. We’re doing it on more or less a national level. We try to go global as well, but for now, we focus on the German and European markets.

What challenge were you trying to address with ADES Technologies?

We were looking for developers.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We are developing a mobile app using React native. They’ve been implementing the whole design, functionality, and the endpoints. They did both front-and backend work on the app. 

Besides that, we’re currently working on a browsable version of our application. They’re helping us create an app for Linux distributions which allows us to run our personal assistant on all types of devices such as Mirage, Smart Speakers, as well as TVs and Smartwatches.

The goal of the personal assistant is to allow users to be in touch 24 hours per day, and we want the assistant to be accessible on multiple apps. We will continue to improve and extend our existing apps as well.

We initially only wanted to hire them for frontend, but then we realized it didn’t make any sense. They needed to understand the whole app. So, we extended their responsibilities to all of the apps as well as everything beyond. They had to build everything completely from scratch (e.g. the React app and the Linux apps).

What is the team composition?

There are over four developers here, and they help us with all different types of apps. I’m in touch with a project manager. We’d like to have 8-10 developers in the beginning of 2020.

How did you come to work with ADES Technologies?

I heard some good reviews from friends. I asked a friend to give me the address for ADES Technologies, and I got to meet them. We decided to hire them because we saw there’s was some synergy that we could build on by having the team located here. 

Also, we know that the Mexican market is a very powerful one, and it’s becoming more successful. We hoped that by getting in touch with ADES Technologies, we’d get a better opportunity to jump into that market. That’s why we decided to hire developers here that speak the language, know the market, know the product, and the users.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working together in June 2019, and the work is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

I’m super satisfied with the results. We intend to hire more developers with them.

How did ADES Technologies perform from a project management standpoint?

Their project management is very good — I’m completely happy.

In the beginning, it always takes a little time as people get used to the environment. But, we’ve come to a point where we’re able to estimate the workload very well as well as the duration of the tasks. I’m sure we’ll increase efficiency even more as we progress and get to know each other.

I’m in touch with their project manager on a daily basis. We have weekly sprints. Most of the days, I’m even in the same office as them because it’s easier to be face-to-face.

What did you find most impressive about them?

I’m super impressed with the project manager. They learn quickly even though most of the developers had never been in touch with these technologies. That impressed me a lot.

They helped us with tasks beyond app development. For example, they helped us find the right hardware for our first prototypes of a smart mirror and a smart speaker.

They also helped us with pairing for our device so we can set it up and connect it to our app and our personal assistant. 

Are there any areas they could improve?

Most of the developers we have here are still super young. That’s room for improvement, but it’s known. This isn’t a criticism— it’s just normal. 

Since we opened the office 5-6 months ago, we’ve been looking for younger developers because we want to integrate them from the beginning. Then, in the next few years, they’ll learn and improve at knowing and working with our company. Since we’ll have weekly meetings and be in touch, this will continue to get better. 

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

At the beginning, it was difficult finding developers because it’s always difficult to find people in the city that have the knowledge we need. 

All of them are in touch with different headhunting companies. That made it fairly easy to find new developers that suit our needs exactly.

If a person would like to work with ADES Technologies, I’d leave them the process of recruiting as well because they’re in touch with companies. They’ll know what developers they need.
