A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I’m the senior sales operations manager for Concord Technologies. We’re predominately a Cloud Fax vendor in the healthcare space, but we’re expanding into other document transmission services, such as to document automation, processing, and workflows.
What challenge were you trying to address with Adept Dynamics?
We didn’t have an internal team to support Dynamics 365 development, so we hired another partner. In the past, we worked with another firm, but it didn’t go well. We needed to hire a new team, so we brought in Adept Dynamics.
What was the scope of their involvement?
Adept Dynamics provides admin and development support. They build automations within Dynamics 365. From stabilizing our instance, creating a Sandbox environment, and rebuilding all our forms, they’ve done everything we’ve needed them to do.
What is the team composition?
Chris (Founder) is our primary contact. I originally worked with Matt (Advisor), but now I work with Sarfaraz (Dynamics Specialist) and one more person.
How did you come to work with Adept Dynamics 365?
We found them through Upwork. We shortlisted five companies and went through an in-depth interview process before settling on Adept Dynamics 365.
How much have you invested with them?
It costs $100 per hour, and we budget for 10 hours of work a week, which adds up to $1,000 per week (approximately $40,000 in total).
What is the status of this engagement?
They officially started working on the project in July 2020 and we’ve been working with them ever since.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
We’ve continued to use them because we have a strong rapport. They do great work.
How did Adept Dynamics 365 perform from a project management standpoint?
They’ve delivered on time and in budget. We use Jira to keep our projects and tasks in line. They’ve been able to complete all of their tickets in a pretty timely fashion. There was some turnover, which can be difficult to handle, but they managed it well. They’ve been able to get everything done in a timely manner.
What did you find most impressive about them?
I’ve been impressed with their understanding of Dynamics 365. A lot of people can maintain and build features on the platform, but don’t have an in-depth understanding of how Microsoft updates.
For example, today we Microsoft updated how it caches credentials, and that ended up breaking how Outlook and Dynamics 365 synched. They were able to identify the root cause, figure it out, and address the issue as quickly as possible. From my perspective, they’re more than competent.
Are there any areas they could improve?
In general, they’ve delivered on time and in budget, but there have been a few situations where they’ve missed deadlines. Some projects took longer than initially planned, but that has been true for any vendor I’ve ever worked with.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
For us, that is a little difficult because they’re on retainer and we ask them to work on a variety of tasks. If we were beginning the engagement now, we would spend time with them to define the project and deliverables. Then I would make sure they used Jira to keep us apprised of their progress.
They’re still a young company, so they’re still building our internal processes, but you can streamline the project by clearly defining the scope.
Adept Dynamics has an in-depth understanding of Dynamics 365. When challenges have come up, they’ve been able to identify the problem and fix the issue quickly. Additionally, they deliver on time and in budget. Happy with their work, their clients continue to work with them.
