Introduce your business and what you do there.

I’m the CFO of Kotlerz, and we are a digital marketing agency.

OPPORTUNITY / CHALLENGE

What challenge were you trying to address with Adelson Canada?

They helped us recruit for a variety of different technical positions. We needed everything from developers to IT professionals to software engineers, but because our company is located on the north shore of Montreal it isn’t very easy for us to find people, so they helped us recruit for those positions.

What was the scope of their involvement?

Basically, we send them the qualifications and the kind of profiles we are looking for, and they helped us by providing candidates and doing the initial phone interview screening and backgrounds. We hired 4 people through them in a particular hiring push.

What is the team composition?

I’m not sure exactly how many people are on their team, but we work with a couple of different agencies besides Adelson Canada as well.

How did you come to work with Adelson Canada?

When we were prospecting for new business, our HR department found them and spoke to them about how they could help us find some of the qualified people we needed. Being CFO, I’m also responsible for all the employees working in our R&D department, so basically, I took a look at their credentials and signed the contract from there.

How much have you invested with them?

We've spent close to $25,000 on their services.

What is the status of this engagement?

We worked with them from October–December 2018 and plan to utilize them again in the future.

RESULTS & FEEDBACK

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

They provide us with a number of candidates that allows us to keep our recruiting active. The positions that we hire for require very specific experiences and knowledge, and sometimes it doesn’t work out but what they are very good at is being very proactive about searching for people who might be the right fit. It makes me feel like they’re actually spending time helping us find people. 

How did Adelson Canada perform from a project management standpoint?

Project management is one of their strongest assets. When they send us a profile, sometimes internally it can take a few days before we follow up, but they make sure they stay updated with every step, whether we’re interviewing a candidate or negotiating for an offer. They will always follow up to ask us for feedback as well as to make sure we stay disciplined in terms of answering the candidates that they send us. I really appreciate how hands-on they can be.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They send us way more candidates than other agencies, and I would much rather work with an agency that might send us people who don’t always quite fit than one that will send us one candidate a month. They just feel very dedicated to their work, and always take the initiative to go out and headhunt for the right people.

Are there any areas they could improve?

I don’t really have any specific ways they could improve. The times we choose not to hire candidates are mostly because of our stringent requirements rather than anything they could have prevented or known in advance.
