A Clutch analyst personally interviewed this client over the phone. Below is an edited transcript.
Introduce your business and what you do there.
I am the general manager at Circle City Bargains. We are liquidation retail and wholesale business that primarily deals home improvement merchandise. Anything that you would find at Lowe’s or Home Depot or anything returned to Amazon, we could typically carry.
What challenge were you trying to address with Accelerone?
We needed a website created that would reach more individuals. Individuals that don’t know who we are could research us through the website. It also gave our customers more ease in sending us prepaid money for merchandise they would receive at a later date.
What was the scope of their involvement?
We had a meeting with the two owners and Bob (Web Developer) and came upon some ideas of what we wanted the website to look like. He sent us a project plan, schedule, as well as detailed content of what he would need. I worked closely with Bob as far as supplying him with the content and pictures for the site.
The first stage was to get the web page, and the second stage was to implement some online sales. I do a lot of brokering across the country for liquidation loads and he’s going to assist me with that in stage three.
What is the team composition?
I directly worked with Bob.
How did you come to work with Accelerone?
I met Bob through a Facebook post. He was inquiring about purchasing a load and after talking to him, and telling me what his profession was, I told him we needed a web developer.
How much have you invested with them?
The cost of the project was between $5,000–$10,000.
What is the status of this engagement?
Our engagement ran from October–November 2020.
What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?
They came up with ideas that we hadn’t thought of, to resolve some of our growing pains and internal streamlining. I think the site proved that we were a legitimate company to people that were researching us. However, at this point, it's still hard to measure if the platform has increased our business.
How did Accelerone perform from a project management standpoint?
We communicated through email, phone calls, and Facebook Messenger. We used DocuSign for the contract.
What did you find most impressive about them?
Bob's knowledge impressed us — he learned a lot about the liquidation business and was very helpful.
Are there any areas they could improve?
No, I don't think they have any areas they could improve on.
Do you have any advice for potential customers?
Just be organized. With my experience with Bob, whenever he asked for something, I got it to him as soon as possible. I come from a business analyst position in my previous job, so I know the importance of staying to a project plan and getting Bob the information on time and expedient when he needs it to meet his deadlines. I would say that for someone with a similar project that there should be a tag person for Bob to get what he needs quickly.
The platform created by Accelerone contributed to establishing the company as a legitimate business. They learned many things about the client's industry in order to support them well, leading to a successful engagement. The client plans to partner with them again for their project's next stage.
